Description:

SCP-XXXX is a roughly circular pit with a 3 meter radius, filled with murky, 7°C water and trace ammounts of natural minerals. SCP-XXXX is over ██87 meters deep, and maintains a roughly circlular shape as far down as has been observed.

SCP-XXXX is housed in the basement of Building A in the since abandoned ████ ████████ Manufactory compound. The Manufactory last saw operation in 198█, before it was seized by the Foundation shortly after SCP-XXXX's appearance. As reported by the Manufactory staff, a piece of machinery had malfunctioned, resulting in a chasm opening underneath it. The connection between the malfunctioning equipment and SCP-XXXX is unknown, as the equipment was lost. Within an hour, SCP-XXXX grew to it's current diameter. Initially, the pit did not show any signs of water, and tools dropped in could be heard, albiet not seen, hitting a bottom. Sometime between SCP-XXXX's appearance and the Foundation gaining control, the pit became filled with water.

The water appears to have originated from within SCP, as the area is ████ kilometers inland, located in ██████████, ██. Additionally, there is no known ████ deposit near SCP-XXXX, despite it being found in the water. There is no known water source which could flood SCP-XXXX to it's current state, and the site is known to sit well above sea level.

Light levels in SCP-XXXX are very low due to the murky water, reducing visibility significantly past 10 meters. Personal light sources make minimal difference.
