Special Containment Procedures: To prevent the spread of SCP-XXXX, a stainless steel dome has been built at Site-207, around the affected area. The interior of the dome is polished daily to retain its reflective effect.

In regular conditions, at least four (4) guards should be inspecting the dome at all times. All personnel present at Site-207 must be equipped with full-body reflective chrome suits and spray canisters filled with chrome paint. Personnel assigned to polish the interior of the dome must use tools painted chrome.

If SCP-XXXX begins to spread beyond the dome, the nearest personnel are to spray any newly affected area with the on-hand chrome paint. In the event of a change in the properties of SCP-XXXX, a research team will be assigned on Site-207 to determine any changes needed to containment.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a reality-altering field originating from a complex painting of a fractal. The fractal is painted on the walls, floors, and ceiling of the house it was first found in. Although, what parts of the fractal were painted by the original painter (SCP-XXXX-1) and what was created by the anomaly is unknown.

SCP-XXXX is constantly spreading through object to object contact. Whatever it affects will grow smaller versions of itself on its surface. That smaller version will do the same. This repeats until the object resembles a fractal. As it affects more area, the spread of SCP-XXXX hastens. Sound is presumably also affected near the center of the field.

For a currently unknown reason, SCP-XXXX cannot affect the surface of mirrors. It will instead affect the objects reflected by the mirror.

Addendum 1: (This is prior to the creation of SCP-XXXX's current containment dome.) In an attempt to contain SCP-XXXX, four (4) Scranton Reality Anchors were placed around the affected area, but no observable change was recorded. The Hume level present in SCP-XXXX was found to be closer to zero than what is regular.

Addendum 2: One reflective glass-covered book was retrieved from Site-207. Many of its contents have been deemed necessary to understand SCP-XXXX. The following are the contents of the book.

Log of SCP-XXXX-1

October 11th, 1976: To organize my findings on the newly discovered fractal, they will be recorded in this log.

October 12th, 1976: Currently no new findings. Although, I must note that it is intriguing that these fractals are presumably endless.

October 14th, 1976: I thought I found an end in one of my equations. I think it is somewhere on page sixteen in my workbook. Although I am not sure if it is there, so I must start over.

October 17th, 1976: It happened again. I don't know where, but I must have messed up. I hate to see dozens of pages of work go to nothing, but I need to start over.

October 25th, 1976: Trying to keep a graphable equation only in numbers is counter-productive. I need to graph my findings.

November 1st, 1976: I bought a bucket of paint. I will begin to graph my equations from now on. One room in my house has been sitting empty for a few years. I think I could paint my graphing on its walls.

November 20th, 1976: I'm stuck. I don't think I could have made it any more precise even if I tried, but it's really been bugging me. I have the numbers right, but no way to get them on to the wall.

November 30th, 1976: I have to continue. All this work can't go to waste. It really can't.

December 5th, 1976: I bought a magnifying glass to help. It's really getting extremely hard to paint so small though.

January 1st, 1977: I'm really back on track. I don't even remember painting so precisely.

January 3rd, 1977: I went to paint some parts and found that they have already been finished. Am I forgetting things?

January 5th, 1977: I have to paint in sections. Whenever I go to paint, I'll find that whole areas are already finished at percisions I don't even know how are possible.

January 18th, 1977: Something feels off.

January 20th, 1977: My neighbors seem to have noticed my recent odd patterns. I tried to explain what I'm working on, but all they said is that I should take a break.

January 25th, 1977: I was looking at the room and became dizzy. It looked like the paint was warping. Should I take a break?

March 25th, 1977: I went back into the room for the first time in a while. I don't know what I saw. It's living, moving, warping. Do I destroy it? I can't. I have to study it.

April 2nd, 1977: I can only describe it as perfect. In some way, it became infinite.

April 10th, 1977: The doors. It's doing something to the doors. They're growing smaller doors.

April 11th, 1977: That thing, it makes the objects around it into fractals.

April 30th, 1977: I tried to scrape off some of the painting, but it just began to warp the scraper.

May 10th, 1977: Most of my house is affected. I don't know what I'll do once it gets outside.

May 15th, 1977: I'm exhausted. I can't sleep. Do I run and never talk about this again, or stay and face the consequences.

May 17th, 1977: Fuck. I was trying to leave. The knob, I touched it. My hand, it's turning.

May 19th, 1977: I cut it off.

May 20th, 1977: My neighbor came to visit. She became part of it. I had to kill her. I have to stop that thing.

June 1st, 1977: Those people outside aren't the police. I don't know who they are, but they are trying to stop it.

June 5th, 1977: I touched it again. This time it spread faster than I could realize.

June 7th, 1977: It spread throughout my body. I don't feel different, which is weird.

June 8th, 1977: It's outside. What have I done? I need to fix this. The people outside, they're trying to stop it.

June 10th, 1977: The more I think about this, the more it confuses me. I see things being warped into fractals, but they feel as if they were a regular surface.

June 15th, 1977: Mirrors. I get it now. It's affecting the visuals of objects. The mirror in my bathroom, it's unaffected. Except, it didn't affect the mirror, but the things being reflected.

June 28th, 1977: I observed it seeping into a mirror. The mirror in my bedroom had just started to be taken over. At first, the affected objects were reflected looking normal in the mirror. It seeped in going from object to object warping it. Really freaky.

For you, whoever you people are: Mirrors stop it. It spreads from object to object. Don't touch it. Please fix this. I'm so sorry.

Addendum 3: Following the retrieval of the Log of SCP-XXXX-1, reflections were confirmed to stop the spread of SCP-XXXX, and its current containment chamber was built.
