Special Containment Procedures: As of now, there is no known method of containing SCP-XXXX, however, SCP-XXXX-1 instances can be contained in a standard humanoid containment cell with adequate entertainment for a child.
Description SCP-XXXX is an entity that affects children. It can appear in any form imaginable, but always has 2 similarities, its name (It calls itself Cherry) and its hat, said to resemble a tall fedora. It will manifest itself as the imaginary friend of a child between the ages of 6 and 14. It will take on a form from the child's imagination, and act like a friend.
It starts out only being visible to the child, talking and playing with them to make them happy and gain trust. It has even been known to appear in nightmares to "Save the day". After roughly 6 months after the original appearance, it will begin to tell the child to perform actions, usually disobedience, and when in trouble, told to "blame it on Cherry." Upon the child blaming it on their "friend" whoever was angry will become oblivious to the child's actions. See Experiment log 1
Roughly 6 months after initial appearance, it will begin to interact with the physical world, anybody over the age of 14 will be oblivious to its actions, while other children can witness these actions. At this point, Cherry will begin to appear to friends of the child, after a simple introduction, they will become friends. After 9 months, Adults will begin to realize that their child acted on their own, and usually become angry at their child. 1 year, Cherry will begin spreading rumors about the child to its peers, and will disappear shortly after.
when the child reaches around the age of 15-16, Cherry will begin to appear to their family members, usually just watching. Eventually, young children related to SCP-XXXX-1 will disappear, last being seen with someone fitting the description of cherry. Eventually, cherry will begin systematically killing the child's entire family, starting with the youngest, and ending an entire family line.
Containing SCP-XXXX-1 and using amnestics, or mind altering SCPs to form a "family" out of D-Class personnel has proven effective in diverting cherry away from SCP-XXXX-1s real family. Utilization of young children has proven effective in Communicating with SCP-XXXX.
Discovery SCP-XXXX was originally discovered after it [DATA EXPUNGED] Dr.[Redacted] when his son became affected by SCP-XXXX. Now, agents imbedded across the world are to report any mentions of an imaginary friend named Cherry.
