Doctor Leon and SCP-2900

SCP-2900

Object class: Safe

Description: SCP-2900 is an old 18th century mirror. The composition of the mirror appears to be similar to that of a normal mirror, it’s frame composed of a unknown wooden matter. The only unusual things about SCP-2900 is it’s frame’s color, which is a charred black color, and the mirror’s surface, which has four cracks running along parts of the surface.

Tests ran on the mirror show that the surface or the frame show that it is impossible to damage or repair it further than its current state. Various tools were used, such as blunt force trauma, gunfire, and even acids. No effect

The cracks on SCP-2900’s surface stem from one main crack, going from the top right to the bottom left corner, with two other fracture lines spidering out to the left and right sides. Subjects exposed to SCP-2900 report feelings of great joy, sadness, or homicidal thoughts, while others simply slipped into a catatonic state, rendering them immobile. The effects of the mirror almost instantaneous, with no idea how to reverse or cure these effects.

Doctor REDACTED has ordered that a simple black, heavy blanket cover the mirror, and leave it until further knowledge of its effects are documented.

SCP-2900 sits at storage site RECACTED under the lowest level security. Tests are ran with armed guards outside the room, and one inside the room, facing the back of the mirror, as to avoid contamination.

Anyone who has looked at SCP-2900 and is currently under its effects are now SCP-2900-A through D, depending on the effect. Homicidal subjects are known as SCP-2900-A, and should be locked in a room, restrained until further notice.

SCP-2900-B are those who are in great sadness, and should be put under suicide watch.

SCP-2900-C are those who are feeling great joy, and are free to roam the facility.

SCP-2900-D are those who are now catonic, and must stay on life support until permission to terminate comes from their family.

[Test log 13.]

Doctor Redacted: This is is test number 11, with D-class personnel 446. Are you ready?
446: do I have a choice?

D: begin.

(446 removed the blanket, and looks into the largest part of the mirror, leaning in and inspecting his face, his hair, scratching his chin. Suddenly, he stops, staring at his hands.)

D: 446, is there a problem?

446: problem? Why would there be?

D: what do you see?

446: my wife… my kids at home…. and…

D:yes?

446:……. (soft crying is heard, followed by a small laugh.)

D: 446? What is it?

446: it’s nothing… just an old memory.

D: I think that’s enough for today.
