Item #: SCP-4252
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4252 is to be kept in a locked container under any and all circumstances. The container should have walls lined with at least 0.4 meters of lead. The door to the container should be a lock chamber system, with neither door being allowed to open unless the other is securely closed and locked. Each door must also be lined with at least 0.4 meters of lead.
The lighting in the container must use high power strobes of varying electromagnetic frequencies. Whenever Foundation personnel above Class D enter the container they are required to have on their person high power handheld strobe lighting of various electromagnetic frequencies, as well as welding goggles. Guards placed outside of SCP-4252’s container are required to have these items on their person at all times.
Containment Update: ██/██/20██
Constant strobed lighting in the container has appeared to make SCP-4252 deeply ill. Normal lighting is to be installed.
Containment Update: ██/██/20██
Due to the events detailed in Addendum SCP-4252.2, SCP-4252’s container will no longer have any lighting turned on except when Foundation personnel are to enter the container.
Containment Update: ██/██/20██
Following the events detailed in Addendum SCP-4252.4: Interview SCP-4252.1, Addendum SCP-4252.5, and Addendum SCP-4252.6, SCP-4252 may be removed from containment in the event of a containment breach Priority A. In the event of a containment breach Priority A, Foundation personnel are to be instructed to lead SCP-4252 to the SCP of highest priority for recapture. Foundation personnel may also be authorized at the discretion of the Site Director to remove SCP-4252 from containment during a containment breach Priority B.
Description: SCP-4252 is 7’0” tall, 125 lbs., and is of indeterminable age. SCP-4252 is of a roughly humanoid shape, though is significantly more slender than a normal human. SCP-4252 does not have hands, instead it’s arms taper down to a finely pointed “fingers”, which have the ability to curl around objects to pick them up. Similarly, SCP-4252 lacks feet, and balances on two stubs. The head of SCP-4252 seems to be roughly the shape of a rounded-off cone, and has a singular eye which emits a faint white light and does not have a discernible pupil or iris. When the eye closes it can reopen on any part of SCP-4252’s head. There appears to be no orifices such as a mouth, ears, nose, or otherwise on SCP-4252, though it can hear and seems to understand English.
Rather than skin or organs, SCP-4252 appears to be made entirely out of a black material. If a part of this material is separated from the rest of SCP-4252’s body it rapidly begins to deteriorate with wispy strands breaking off and disintegrating. Additionally, SCP-4252 has what appears to be clothes made of the same or a closely similar material containing the same observed properties, these clothes are a flowing cloak which covers most of SCP-4252’s body, and a wide brimmed conical hat.
SCP-4252 has been in Foundation containment since ██/██/20██, was transported to Site-19 on ██/██/20██, and was first captured roughly ██ miles outside of █████████, Texas. Due to the relative proximity and similar descriptions SCP-4252 is thought to possibly be the humanoid figure discovered inside of SCP-1730 by the unmanned drone, as detailed in SCP-1730 Addendum 1730.3 Exploration Log Transcript #6, inside the Euclid wing of SCP-1730. If this is found to be true, careful and extreme precautions must be made to ensure SCP-4252 is not allowed to write symbols which would likely result in the creation of a cognitohazard, and SCP-4252’s object class is to be changed to Keter immediately.
SCP-4252 is generally peaceful, though when aggressive actions were taken during capture attempts SCP-4252 became hostile in return, which resulted in a total of ██ casualties of Containment Specialists. SCP-4252 was noted to use its “fingers” and extremely fast movements to puncture the skulls and necks of operatives, killing them instantly. Additionally, SCP-4252 demonstrated the ability to instantaneously teleport itself in front of operatives, as well as a long distance away, though always within sight of the operatives, the maximum range being unknown.
Foundation Containment Specialists were able to eventually capture SCP-4252 using strobe lighting, as well as using strobed flashes of various electromagnetic frequencies. The strobed effects appeared to rapidly disorient SCP-4252, particularly when various other electromagnetic frequencies outside the visible range of light were used interspersedly.
Description Update: ██/██/20██
SCP-4252 has been found to be able to write symbols which form a cognitohazard, as well as has the capability to utilize kinetoglyphs. These revelations make it all but certain in the opinion of Dr. █████████ that SCP-4252 is the same entity witnessed by the unmanned drone inside of SCP-1730.
Description Update: ██/██/20██
SCP-4252 was transported to Site-15 after the events detailed in Addendum SCP-4252.2 on ██/██/20██.
Addendum SCP-4252.1:
SCP-4252 has been observed to be scraping on the walls of its container. SCP-4252 has also been observed to sporadically teleport around the container, increasingly SCP-4252 has been seen teleporting into mid-air before falling back to the ground. When SCP-4252 teleports into mid-air it is always directly underneath the source of lighting in its container.
Experiments: SCP-4252
Addendum SCP-4252.2:
Experiment #: 013
Testing: Cognitohazards and Kinetoglyphs
Method: Instruct D-110905 and D-112403 to present SCP-4252 with a piece of paper and a vial of ink. Then instruct D-112403 to ask SCP-4252 to write something it believes they (the D Class personnel) will not understand, D-112403 will then be instructed to examine what SCP-4252 has written. D-110905 will then be instructed to give SCP-4252 another piece of paper and ask it to write something that it thinks will help its situation, D-110905 will then examine what SCP-4252 has written.
Results: As expected SCP-4252 during experiment 13a wrote down the cognitohazard [DATA EXPUNGED], when D-112403 examined the piece of paper he reacted by [DATA EXPUNGED]. Not expected however was that SCP-4252 during experiment 13b wrote down not only a kinetoglyph but that it caused the lighting in the room to become incredibly intense, which allowed SCP-4252 to escape containment through teleportation. SCP-4252 teleported into the generator room for the energy source of the light, but was quickly re-captured, as it did not put up any resistance upon apprehension by the Foundation.
Note: It seems that SCP-4252 is able to teleport by turning its body into a wave of electromagnetism and the “riding” along with a pre-existing wave of electromagnetism. This explains why it only teleported directly in front of Foundation personnel and within their line of sight, it was “riding” the waves of their flashlights. As per previous instructions, SCP-4252’s object class is being changed to Keter.
Addendum SCP-4252.3:
Experiment #: 015
Testing: Two way communication
Method: Due to SCP-4252’s inability to speak, and the inherent dangers of allowing SCP-4252 to write, this experiment will use a telegraph key attached to an screen to display what is sent and have D-072899 attempt to teach SCP-4252 Morse code. Instruct D-072899 to ask SCP-4252 if they have learned anything about the Foundation.
Result: SCP-4252 was quickly able to learn Morse code, establishing a reliable method of two way communication between personnel and SCP-4252. SCP-4252 demonstrated learning that there are other anomalous items being contained within the site despite not seeing any other containers at any point.
Note: I find it a bit troubling that SCP-4252 was apparently able to estimate the locations of SCP-079, SCP-████, and the generator rooms within the site, presumably just from slight traces of their electromagnetic signatures. I’m also concerned that despite SCP-4252 being able to so quickly demonstrate a masterful understanding and use of Morse code that they insisted on being allowed to keep the telegraph key “in order to practice”.
Addendum SCP-4252.4: Interview SCP-4252.1
SCP-4252 after multiple experiments with the same Foundation personnel, D-072899, asked that they always be present during further interviews and experiments. This however went unfulfilled, which resulted in SCP-4252 becoming uncooperative to further attempts at interviews and experiments.
SCP-4252 would very rarely respond to questions or requests, and most of the time when SCP-4252 did respond it with was with the question “Why?”. After about a week of this behavior it was decided that D-072899 would be assigned to SCP-4252, and that D-072899 would be removed from especially dangerous tasks in case the premature death of D-072899 would cause SCP-4252 to demonstrate further uncooperative behavior.
When D-072899 was reintroduced SCP-4252 appeared overjoyed, teleporting around the room, and giving D-072899 a hug. The following interview went as follows:
D-072899: So were you ever located in SCP-1730?
SCP-4252: What is SCP-1730? I have never been consumed by another being.
D-072899: SCP-1730 is the anomalous location also referred to as Site-13, have you ever been located inside of Site-13?
SCP-4252: Yes.
D-072899: Okay, so were you ever contained inside of SCP-1730, if so did your containment differ from your current containment?
SCP-4252: Yes, I was contained there. I’m not quite sure where to describe it, I rarely left my cell, and when I last left and exited the site, the layout of the facility seemed to be warped significantly by inter-dimensional energies. Additionally, when I entered the site it was in a frigid and cold place, but when I left it was an arid desert which confused me greatly. The containment there was far easier to escape from, though I had no real will to do so as I knew they would likely be able to quickly contain me again.
At that SCP-4252 then abruptly asked D-072899 the question “Do you want to leave?”, at which D-072899 seemed very shocked. SCP-4252 then peeled off a side of the telegram key, which revealed an almost completed kinetoglyph, which SCP-4252 then completed. This resulted in the lighting in the room to grow more intense until almost blinding. D-072899 then was enveloped by SCP-4252, who then teleported with D-072899. Causing a containment breach and subsequent lock down.
Addendum SCP-4252.5:
During the containment breach SCP-4252 and D-072899 consistently evaded Tactical Response Officers’ attempts to detain them. Until they headed into one of the generator rooms within the site, and barred themselves in. When a TRO task force was able break down the doors, they demanded that they surrender immediately, but then saw that SCP-4252 was attempting to overload the nuclear generator (presumably to allow them to teleport outside of the site).
The standoff resulted in chaotic yelling between the task force and D-072899, leading one of the TRO members to fire at SCP-4252, with D-072899 jumping in front of SCP-4252 for protection (apparently unaware that bullets have minimal if any effect on SCP-4252). This resulted in SCP-4252 stopping it’s actions to overload the generator, and hovering over D-072899’s body, the task force observing SCP-4252 appear to grieve and then close D-072899’s eyes.
The generator then without warning gave out, momentarily leaving part of the Keter wing without power, which caused a further containment breach when SCP-████ used that moment to escape containment. SCP-4252, apparently sensing this, then immediately teleported outside of the room to the location where TRO squads had been deployed to contain SCP-████. These TRO squads observed SCP-4252 fighting with SCP-████. This apparent aid to the TRO squads allowed them to successfully detain SCP-████. Afterwards SCP-4252 allowed themself to be detained again.
The Foundation saw fit to temporarily discontinue further experiments and interviews with SCP-4252, as well as no longer allow SCP-4252 to retain possession of the telegram key outside of experiments and interviews.
Addendum SCP-4252.6:
During a subsequent containment breach not involving SCP-4252, the generator was damaged sending out a wave of extremely concentrated gamma radiation. This allowed SCP-4252 to once again breach containment. However, SCP-4252 did not use this opportunity to attempt another escape, but instead again assisted in the recapturing of escaped SCPs, before then again allowing themself to be recaptured.
As a result the Foundation allowed for SCP-4252 to be interviewed in a high security setting. During the interview SCP-4252 explained that after the death of D-072899 they had reached the conclusion that it was their fault, and promised they no longer had any intention of escaping. SCP-4252 then also communicated that they understood as a result of the fight with SCP-████ that the Foundation was keeping anomalous objects contained for the greater good. SCP-4252 then volunteered themself to be used as a tool to stop containment breaches should the Foundation deem it necessary.
