Item #: SCP-####

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### is to be contained in a six (6) by eight (8) feet cell with standard prison utilities (toilet, bed, desk). Walls are to be seven (7) inches thick and comprised of reinforced concrete. In the event of a containment breach a standard D-class cell will substitute as temporary containment. Personnel below Level 2 security clearance are to be administered Class B amnestics and posted to a different site after communication with SCP-####. SCP-#### is to be terminated at the earliest possible opportunity. SCP-#### should not be killed. can not be killed won't be killed.

Description: SCP-#### is a humanoid female of Arab ethnicity. SCP-#### claims to be from southern Syria, though there are no birth records in the last century to support this claim. SCP-#### appears to be in it's mid-forties, although in the ██ years since initial discovery SCP-#### has aged at a significantly slower rate compared to the average human. Upon entering the eyesight of SCP-#### individuals experience a weak impulse to communicate with SCP-####. This impulse has been suppressed by multiple test subjects and neither resisting or submitting to this impulse appears to be harmful to subject's mental state. The impulse does not endure after leaving SCP-####'s eyesight. SCP-#### possesses a knowledge of personal events and trivia unique to any individual it is in conversation with. This event has been designated a 'Probe Event' by Researcher B██████. All information that SCP-#### uncovers during the probe event is not retained by SCP-#### after the individual leaves SCP-####'s eyesight, and SCP-#### does not appear to remember the topic of conversation when queried afterward, unless the individual querying SCP-#### also has knowledge of the topic. Subjects who have conversed with SCP-#### do not experience any adverse side effects or ill feelings, nor do they express any awareness of the probe event occurring, instead reporting to feel quite at ease and self assured during the conversation.
On initial discovery in 20██, SCP-#### was found in possession of a small leather bound handwritten book designated SCP-####-1, referred to by SCP-#### as "the diary". It is unproven, but assumed, that there is some psychic connection between SCP-#### and SCP-####-1, see Addendum ####.2 . SCP-####-1 has been lost to foundation personnel since the first containment breach by SCP-#### in 20██, and despite efforts to locate the missing document for the last ██ years there has been no success. It is unknown what is written within SCP-####-1, although it is speculated to contain information regarding the "end" of the Foundation and the beginning of the "end-times" as described by SCP-#### and Agent M██████. As such the relocation of SCP-####-1 has been deemed a high priority by 05-█.

Addendum ####.1: Discovery
SCP-#### and SCP-####-1 were discovered on ██/██/20██ drifting in the Suez canal by ████████ ██-████████, captain of the ████████████, a Saudi Arabian oil tanker on route to Athens. Seventeen onlookers, mostly dock hands, also witnessed the event; initially claiming SCP-#### materialised out of thin air. However █ days after SCP-#### was breached from custody at [REDACTED] District Police Station in Ismailia, all witnesses (including Captain ██-████████) revised their statements, claiming SCP-#### fell into the canal whilst jogging along the wharf. Witnesses do not express any knowledge of claiming otherwise, and deny ever making their initial statements. The interference of any GOI or foundation personnel in altering these statements has been ruled out.
After being helped out of the canal, SCP-#### was brought into the local district police station, [REDACTED], and was interviewed by Sergeant ██████ ███-██████, who suspected SCP-#### of being a refugee. The following is an audio log of the interview.

██████ ███-██████:(in Egyptian Arabic) This is Sergeant ██████ ███-██████, of [REDACTED]
District on ██/██/20██. Interview with suspected illegal immigrant or refugee… do you have a name?

SCP-####: (remains silent)

██████ ███-██████: All right then, unnamed… Can you tell me where you are from?

SCP-####: Syria.

██████ ███-██████: Refugee huh? All right, I understand. There are numerous camps in
Sinai and Jordan did you escape from one of those? Or did you avoid them deliberately?

SCP-####: No, I didn't see any camps in Sinai. Or Jordan. But they were there.
I know that now.

██████ ███-██████: Huh. They're hard to miss. Right on most of the border roads from
Israel and Jordan. How did you get to Ismailia?

SCP-####: I walked.

██████ ███-██████: Ok… how did you fall into the canal?

SCP-####: I didn't fall. I climbed in. I was crossing to the other side.

██████ ███-██████: Witnesses report you… (the sound of paper shuffling can be heard)…
ahem, "materialised out of thin air".

SCP-####: There wasn't water at first, I didn't expect there to be water, but there has
always been water.

██████ ███-██████: What do you mean there wasn't water at first?

SCP-#### remains silent.

██████ ███-██████: All right. (murmers) possible post trauma… (███-██████'s pen can be
heard writing on paper) … okay, well unless you can offer any other explanation, you'll be
transported to a refugee camp in Sinai within a few days. In the meantime we'll try to
accommodate your-

SCP-####: Congratulations.

██████ ███-██████: Excuse me?

SCP-####: I said congratulations. He's a beautiful boy isn't he?

██████ ███-██████: How do you…? (███-██████'s tone of voice relaxes) Yes he really is
isn't he?

SCP-####: You're going to visit them now, at the hospital.

██████ ███-██████: Yes. I will tell them you said hello. Thank you.

Agent M██████ was dispatched to [REDACTED] police station to assess SCP-#### for containment in a foundation facility. The following is an audio log from Agent M██████'s handheld audio recorder after he arrived at the station.

MP3 RECORDING FROM FOUNDATION ISSUED AUDIO DEVICE

[BEGIN LOG]

Agent M██████: This is Agent Brian M██████. I was assigned to assess a possible anomaly recovered from the Suez last… █████. It is currently 14:42 on ██/██/20██. I am inside [REDACTED] District Station's lobby. It's vacant. There was a sign on the door that says… um… 'gone for lunch' but the station usually takes lunch from One pm to two so…

(Agent M██████ can be heard opening a door)

Agent M██████: Oh fuck, what if thing's dangerous? I should've brought a fucking camcorder, god fucking damn it…

(Silence aside from Agent M██████'s footsteps)

Agent M██████: No signs of struggle anywhere… bloodstains or anything. Maybe I'm just being jumpy…

(Agent M██████ remains silent as he can be heard checking empty rooms and holding cells)

Agent M██████: Okay, coming up to their lunch room now, I've passed several holding cells and offices, all empty. Still no signs of struggle, but it is way to quiet, even for Lunch hour.

(Agent M██████ can be heard cocking the hammer of his pistol)

Agent M██████: OK, opening the door now.

(Agent M██████ can be heard opening a door)

Agent M██████: (gasps) Oh shit- PUT DOWN THE WEAPON

(Agent M██████ presumably drops his camcorder, the next 13.125 seconds are inaudible)

Agent M██████: -here. Oh right, I think I got it. Um… it's uh. Do you..? Ahem. Can you tell me what happened exactly?

SCP-####: They read the diary. They knew.

Agent M██████: They knew what?

SCP-####: You're with the Foundation.

Agent M██████: I… yeah. What's in the diary?

(SCP-#### remains silent)

Agent M██████: I'm going to put it in here OK? I'm not going to look at it, alright?

(Agent M██████ can be heard putting the diary in his satchel. SCP-#### remains silent)

Agent M██████: Why did you kill them?

SCP-####: I told you. They read the diary.

Agent M██████: Can you be more specific?

SCP-####: They read about the end times. They may have tried to prevent it.

Agent M██████: The end times?

(SCP-#### remains silent)

(Agent M██████ begins to dial a number on his cell phone)

SCP-####: You're calling [DATA EXPUNGED].

Agent M██████: Yeah, they may have an idea of what to do with you. I'm going to step outside, can I trust you to stay here and not try anything stupid?

(SCP-#### remains silent)

Observation Notes: Agent M██████ handled this case quite poorly, he directly violated every rule in the book and for what? I'm not going to say he had it coming, but this wasn't the first time he screwed up on an op. We could use this audio as an example for recruits, omitting the sensitive details of course. - Agent Q█████

Interview with Security Officer James P█████.

Date: ██/██/20██
Time: 01:45
Interviewer: ██████████████

[BEGIN LOG]

Interviewer: Where were you prior to finding Brian M██████?

Officer P█████: I was in the cafeteria. We were playing cards. One of the guys suggested we get Brian to join in, he'd had a rough week after his demotion so we thought we'd cheer him up with a beer and some poker.

Interviewer: So you went to his room?

Officer P█████: Yeah, I figured if he wasn't in the cafeteria he'd probably be drinking himself to death in his room. I was passing through checkpoint 3-B when the alarms went off. I was closest to temporary containment so I got orders through radio to head there.

Interviewer: What did you see when you arrived at your posting?

Officer P█████: Brian was standing outside the cell she was contained in.

Interviewer: Do you mean the anomaly?

Officer P█████: Yeah, the anomaly, whatever. I could see both of them, and they could see me but they just ignored me. Brian was trying to unlock her cell, he was in his underwear, holding some black book thing.

Interviewer: Describe this book.

Officer P█████: Ok um…. Nondescript. Doesn't stand out really, black, leather probably. No inscriptions on the cover as far as I remember, but the book didn't catch my eye really.

Interviewer: Alright. What happened next?

Officer P█████: Brian was talking to her - er, the anomaly - as he tried to open the door. For whatever reason his keycard wasn't working. I think he lacked clearance after his demotion. Anyway, they were talking. He was reassuring her I think. Or maybe she - sorry, it - was reassuring him? I don't know they were whispering. I made out a few isolated words though. Just gibberish without the context.

Interviewer: Can you reiterate what you heard?

Officer P█████: Something about the end. A lot of talk about some apocalypse. He kept repeating something along the lines of 'I know, I know'. Like he was reassuring it. It said little in comparison but whenever it spoke he relaxed completely. Eventually he realised the keycard was going nowhere, he had a gun in his waistband I forgot to mention. Yeah he had this gun, peashooter really, a 9 millimetre I think, and shot the hinges off the door.

Interviewer: And you didn't act until now?

Officer P█████: I… no I didn't. To tell the truth I didn't think there was anything wrong anyway. Even though the containment breach klaxons were screaming in my ears I felt completely at ease. But when the door fell open it was like being snapped out of a trance. I raised my baton and yelled at him to stand down. Then the anomaly… it just… snatched the gun out of Brian's hand and fucking…

(Officer P█████ sighs)

Interviewer: Do you need a minute?

Officer P█████: No, its… Its fine. Just reminds me of Afghanistan. She just shot him in the chest. Point blank. And he didn't even look surprised, like he knew it was gonna happen. He collapses and she leans over him and says, I heard this because I was running towards them, she says 'I'm sorry' and she takes the book out of his hand. At this point I'm within arms reach and I was fixing to jump on her, keep her pinned to the floor. But she just looks at me and her face… It's just filled with sorrow. Like… I can't fucking describe it. Like one of those paintings of the naked ladies in Italy or France.

(Officer P█████ goes quiet for 2.31 seconds)

Interviewer: She looked at you and then…?

Officer P█████: She hits me. Slams an elbow into my face. Doc says she broke my nose. I think I blacked out because the next thing I remember I'm lying on the floor with blood all over my face and my head is-

Interviewer: Please stick to the necessary details.

Officer P█████: That bitch who shot Brian was gone. I saw Brian was still breathing so I tried to stop his bleeding. But it was bad, I could tell from looking that he was fucked. But I could see he wanted to tell me something so I leaned in. It was weird. But it sounded like he meant it. Didn't sound like he had gone insane or anything. I've seen enough of the damned during my tours to know the difference. Some people think you're their mother, or their father. Others are convinced they're going to hell. But Brian was coherent, he didn't make any sense but I could understand it.

Interviewer: Can you repeat what you heard?

Officer P█████: Yeah he was saying not to read the diary. I guess that's what the book was. He whispered something about 'the end times'. He spoke about the foundation too. I didn't listen really, I was trying to stop the bleeding. I told him he was going to be OK, that we'd get the bitch who shot him and make her pay. And he grasps my hand and stares into my eyes and just says 'don't. It's not her fault.' and I said 'she fucking shot you!' and he looks at me again and says he read the diary, that he shouldn't have read the diary. At this point I ask him what was in the book that she had to shoot him for. And he chuckles, he's on death row and he fucking chuckles, and says that if I knew that she'd kill me too.

Interviewer: And then what?

Officer P█████: And then he died. After that the klaxons stopped and a false alarm was declared. Some other guards showed up and took him away.

Interviewer: Do you have anything more to add?

Officer P█████: No.

Interviewer: Interview Terminated.
