Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5187 must be kept away from all staff and never to be touched without safety equipment. All staff near SCP-5187 or guarding it must all be wearing special heard gear for the duration of their task regarding the SCP. SCP-5187 must also be transferred regularly within 1-2 weeks of being in a containment room, failure to do so will result in the room falling apart caused by the radiation emitted by SCP-5187. It is also noted that the room in which SCP-5187 is moved to must contain an Urn (Must be atleast 12’ in height and 4’ in width) . The Urn will contain the Subject for up to roughly 4 weeks at best. But it’s still necessary for it to be moved to other rooms to avoid collateral damage to containment rooms.
Description: SCP-5187 resembles a dark cloud of smoke, but closer analysis shows insect looking anomalies roughly about the size of a Tadpole swirling around each other. Secreting Radiation particles to the place around them. Subject doesn’t look like any other Insects discovered, and will attack anything in close contact with them, they use their radiation to keep other living things away and will tend to bite them if necessary. SCP-5187’s venom is deadlier than that of Ophiophagus hannah (King Cobra). When at rest SCP-5187’s body will secrete more radiation around it, causing all wood, concrete, etc. to decay. The Radiation will also cause immense pain to the chest when inhaled, further exposure will cause the victim to choke and without medical treatment, would die. SCP-5187 also only consumes rotten foods and beverages, it will also tend to eat off the concrete it has decayed.
SCP-5187’s Bug-like appearance suggests that it must be dumb as a rock, but it reality, SCP-5187’s is capable of human speech in various languages, research shows that their flapping of their wings makes sounds similar to human speech. Subject’s Temperament tends to be Territorial and will attack any that comes near it, it is also stated that it is only active at night, wherein the day it stays in the Urn. Many injuries and a handful of deaths occurred when dealing with the SCP. SCP-5187 also likes to talk whenever it is being tested on, it usually says things about literature and how feeble the human mind is compared to it. SCP-5187 hates physical human contact, but is calm when dealing with humans from afar.
