SCP-XXXX “The Harvester”

Special Containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a containment cell measuring 7x7 meters and monitored during all periods off the day. The walls, ceilings and floors of SCP-XXXX containment chamber are all to be painted a bright red additionally following incident XXXX-2 all floors, walls and ceilings within 50 meters of SCP-XXXX are to be painted red. In the event of a containment breach all hallways and entrances within 50 meters of SCP-XXXX’s containment chamber are to be sealed and secured. Once the area is secured an MTF unit will be deployed to re-contain SCP-XXXX using Containment Procedure Poseidon-1A in which the blood of a D-class personnel is used to lure SCP-XXXX back into its containment. Upon re-containment all light sources are to be shut off for a period of at least 24 hours to ensure that SCP-XXXX returns to a non-hostile state.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a semi-avian humanoid entity measuring 2.5 meters in height found in [DATA EXPUNGED], Bolivia by hikers. During initial containment of SCP-XXXX caused significant casualties to foundation personnel, including multiple [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX possesses basic human like characteristics such as arms, legs and a head but has a large set of fleshy wings extending from its back and it’s skin appearing gray and orange. SCP-XXXX’s face which is extremelydisproportionate to the size of the torso and having large black eyes and incredibly wide mouth with rows of approximately 100 on the top and bottom jaw despite this SCP-XXXX will rarely use it’s teeth to hunt prey. Survivors have described SCP-XXXX as having large hands and claws which are disproportionately large compared to its arms and upper body.

SCP-XXXX has shown to require the color red and will remain docile and calm while in contact with any red surface larger than [REDACTED]. Upon interacting with any surface that isn’t a shade of red SCP-XXXX will become incredibly hostile and enter a predatory state of extreme violence. SCP-XXXX will also become hostile towards foundation personnel if attacked or harmed in any way.

While not in contact with the color red SCP-XXXX’s main method of hunting comes through its agility, strength and ability to fly and has shown very high resistance to ballistic, kinetic, explosive and even thermal weaponry. It exploits this capability to ambush its prey usually appearing next to it. Once SCP-XXXX reaches its prey it will tear a hole in the prey using its claw like hands, upon creating an orifice in its prey it will proceed to drain the blood of it victims and absorb into itself. During this process the victim's blood will be seen rising out the corpse and floating into the body of SCP-XXXX and this is apparently it's only known source of food. Human blood besides from being its only known source of food seems to heal SC-XXXX and upon consumption SCP-XXXX will grow muscle mass. The consumption of human blood will only make SCP-XXXX more lethal thus it is advices that minimum contact be made with SCP-XXXX. Because of this SCP-XXXX will be attracted to the sight or scent of blood usually following it until the source is found and killed. SCP-XXXX constant need for can be exploited and used for the re-containment of SCP-XXXX (see Containment Procedure Poseidon-1A).

SCP-XXXX will only returns to a non-hostile state upon being in a no light environment for up to 24 to 48 hours. While in a low light environment there have been instances of SCP-XXXX entering a trance like state. If not in a trance SCP-XXXX will pace slowly about its containment chamber in a seemingly meditative way.

Incident XXXX-2: At [DATA EXPUNGED] on 9/5/16 at Site-[REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX breached containment after a power failure in its containment chamber leading the entity to exit its containment cell. Upon exiting the chamber it immediately made contact with non red surfaces following this SCP-XXXX was reported loudly screeching and screaming. SCP-XXXX proceeded to then hunt any and all personnel it encounter. At approximately [DATA EXPUNGED] minutes after initial containment breach MTF unit Lambda-4 codename Birdwatchers entered the facility to contain SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was eventually contained enacted Containment Procedure Poseidon-1A using the blood of a D-class to lure it back into containment. In total, [REDACTED] personnel were killed in the containment. Following incident XXXX-2 all surfaces within 50 meter of SCP-XXXX containment chamber were painted red to prevent further breaches.
