Item #: SCP-4155

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4155 is to be contained within a 1m x 1m x 3m wooden storage crate within the 3rd sub-basement storage facility at site-19. The purpose of the crate is to reduce all smell created by SCP-4155. Any and all personnel entering the storage facility where SCP-4155 is stored should be given an explanation of SCP-4155’s anomalous properties before entering the storage facility to avoid confusion.

Description: SCP-4155 appears to be a standard black metal vertical filing cabinet made in 2003 by Uline. SCP-4155 has, of this time, not been able to be opened and any attempt to break through SCP-4155’s metal has failed, See test log 4155-3. The words “Cool Sound” are spelled out on the side of SCP-4155 in green spray paint, it is unsure if this has anything to do with SCP-4155’s anomalous properties. Along with this SCP-4155 excretes a foul smell described as decaying corpses, this smell, as of this time has no apparent origin as all x-rays of SCP-4155 have shown nothing in it’s interior.

Any and all occurrences within a 5m radius of the center of SCP-4155 that should in normal cases make a sound do not, instead, a sound matching exactly to the one that should be being created outside SCP-4155 emits within SCP-4155. Experiencing this can cause a state of confusion where the human mind has trouble with perception of space. This is believed to because of the offset of sound and not created by SCP-4155.

Retrieval Records: SCP-4155 was rumored to be found on an expedition into SCP-3008, this is not true. SCP-4155 was found in the storage facility at site-██ in storage facility 8. An ongoing investigation is going on to discover who wrote the graffiti on the cabinet. After it’s discovery it was transported to site 19 for further research and storage.

Test Log 4155-1: A team consisting of D-1560, D-3301, Dr. ██████, and one security agent was made to test the effects of SCP-4155’s properties. The D-class personnel were told to walk in a straight, entering and then exiting SCP-4155’s field of effect. D-1560 was assigned to go first. As D-1560 walked through the field of effect a look of confusion developed on his face and his eyes started to dart around the room. Mid way through the walk D-1560 was told to stop walking and describe what he was experiencing, D-1560 opened his mouth and upon hearing his voice emanating from SCP-4155, started to scream and run for the door. D-1560 D-1560 terminated. Test Aborted.

Test Log 4155-3: A group of three technicians and Dr. ████ where assigned to attempt to enter the SCP-4155. The team used a variety of methods to try to breach the outer layer of SCP-4155:

Test Log 4155-3-A:
Standard issue drill: Failed

Test Log 4155-3-B:
Diamond tipped drill: Failed

Test Log 4155-3-C:
Explosive blast: Failed Resulting in a small piece of SCP-4155 falling off See Test log 4155-5

Test Log 4155-3-D:
High power laser: Failed

Test Log 4155-3-E:
Highly corrosive acid: Failed

Test Log 4155-5: The substance broken off of SCP-4155 has been given the designation Lambda-5 (λ-5). Attempts to find the composition of λ-5 have failed so far as the λ-5 appears to not be made of atoms, but in fact something smaller.

Test Log 4155-7: λ-5 has been successfully recreated through the fusion of ██████, Thorium, and ████. Although, the blast created by this fusion caused the death of Dr ████, and wounded several security personnel. The reaction caused the creation of 8 grams of recreated λ-5.

Note: The use of λ-5 as a substance to contain other SCP’s is of ██/██/████ banned by the O5 council. The reasons being the cost of ██████, and the large blast caused by creating small amount of λ-5.
