[tab SCP-XXXX Meat Locker]

A/N: Not sure how to blackout yet - so am using strikethroughs until I figure that out.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 4m x 0.5m x 2m room, Site #X and locked by a combination lock that is to be reset once per week. Once per week, an amount of meat weighing no less than 600 grams is to be stored in the storage area of SCP-XXXX by tong. This storage area includes both the upper and lower shelves, and it appears to be irrelevant where exactly in the storage area it is placed. Personnel handling SCP-XXXX are to refrain from inserting any appendages into the storage space of SCP-XXXX, as doing so could result in itchiness, lacerations, injury or [REDACTED].

Scientists wishing to performs tests on SCP-XXXX are required to request permission from Dr. Kal and are required to wear a full-body suit as well as an amount of meat no less than two (2) kilograms in case SCP-XXXX exhibits violent behavior. Experiments with human specimens or individuals are prohibited.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a red painted stainless steel locker that is taller than it wide, measuring 1.6m x 0.45m x 1.8m (tentative to change). It has a storage space consistent with most ordinary lockers, and is at a glance indiscernible from an ordinary locker. The storage area has a scent consistently associated with cadavers or rotting flesh, though the scent is faint enough that it can be dismissed as arising from the surrounding area.

SCP-XXXX appears to be carnivorous, although aside from the consumption of meat and a distressed reaction upon not being fed adequately, shows no other signs of life or anything resembling life. It sustains itself through the bodies and limbs of hosts that reach into it and store items in it. Individuals reaching into SCP-XXXX sustain small lacerations or wounds in the region that enters SCP-XXXX. These lacerations and wounds do not appear to be inflicted in any consistent pattern or severity, varying from epidermal surface-level injuries to deeper cuts.

Extended contact of greater than one minute with the inside of SCP-XXXX is resultant in more severe injuries that are often severe rashes or deep cuts that require blood transfusion or amputation. SCP-XXXX prioritizes fleshy matter over osseous matter, but will consume osseous matter if it is all that is within its confines.

The only known instance of SCP-XXXX was recovered from Felix Turner Collegiate Institute in a remote region of Canada after a 16-year old student posthumously identified as John Gallin was forcefully pushed into a locker by another student who has since been suspended. Later, the locker was found to contain little more than the bloodsoaked clothing of John Gallin. This blood was later identified as that of the victim. Once the other involved student and the owner of the locker were exonerated of second-degree murder, the owner was found to be bearing various lacerations of minor severity. Upon hearing about the incident, John Gallin‘s death was made to appear as suicide and SCP-XXXX was moved to Site #23456, where it remains to this day. An amnesiac was administered to John Gallin‘s parents as well as the locker’s former owner, who was transferred to another school. Later, SCP-XXXX was also linked to the deaths and disappearances of four other janitors.

If not given organic flesh or bone for a time period of a week, SCP-XXXX forms an extremely powerful vacuum that attempts to guzzle down any organic matter in the area. This vacuum constantly increases in strength, and continues until it obtains the organic sustenance it requires.

Addendum XXXX-1: One hundred (100) experiments using a total of 100 cadavers, averaging seventy (70) kg each has shown that the mass of organic matter consumed per second can be approximated using a cubic function m = 0.0004t3 + 0.5, where t is the amount of time elapsed in seconds and m is the mass of organic matter consumed in grams. No perceptible difference has been shown between consumption of osseous matter and fleshy matter.

Addenum XXXX-2: Attempts to starve SCP-XXXX have thus far proven unsuccessful. There is no knowledge of what the limit of SCP-XXXX’s vacuum power is, if it exists, though thirty-four (34) attempts to starve SCP-XXXX have shown that the vacuum power can exceed over 10000 times that of a commercial vacuum cleaner, resulting in D-3491’s absorption into the interior of SCP-XXXX. There, she suffered multiple lacerations that seemingly manifested out of thin air, eventually becoming [REDACTED], which culminated in death. Since the 34th failed attempt, experiments involving the starving of SCP-XXXX have ceased.
