Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard storage locker.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 20x30x45 cm refrigerator crisper drawer. Any produce stored in SCP-XXXX appears to decompose significantly quicker than similar items outside the object.

Test Log:

+ Test A - 16/02/1997

13:00: SCP-XXXX was placed in a 20°C lab, with a ripe Red Delicious apple inside, and a second apple outside as a control.
13:20: Small brown splotches are visible on the experimental apple. No noticeable changes to the control apple.
14:00: Wrinkles are visible across the skin of the experimental apple. No noticeable changes to the control apple.
14:30: Light green mold is visible on the skin of the experimental apple. No noticeable changes to the control apple.
16:00: Although the experimental apple’s skin is intact, its contents are mostly sludge. No noticeable changes to the control apple.
22:00: Experimental apple is completely liquid. Small brown splotches are visible on the control apple. Apples are disposed and SCP-XXXX is promptly cleaned and returned to storage.

+ Test B - 24/02/1997

9:00: SCP-XXXX was placed in a 20°C lab, with a ripe Cavendish banana inside, and a second banana outside as a control.
9:10: Small brown splotches are visible on the experimental banana. No noticeable changes to the control banana.
9:30: The experimental banana sags noticeably and is completely brown. No noticeable changes to the control banana.
9:40: Light green mold is visible on the skin of the experimental banana. No noticeable changes to the control banana.
12:00: Experimental banana is completely liquid. Small brown splotches are visible on the control banana. Bananas are disposed and SCP-XXXX is promptly cleaned and returned to storage.

+ Test C - 27/02/1997

11:00: SCP-XXXX was placed in a 20°C lab, with a fetal pig carcass inside, and a second carcass outside as a control.
11:30: The experimental carcass has fungal growths approximately a centimeter in diameter. No noticeable changes to the control carcass.
11:40: The experimental carcass has maggots crawling on it. No noticeable changes to the control carcass.
12:00: Flies are visible in the lab. Carcasses are disposed and SCP-XXXX is promptly cleaned and returned to storage. The lab will also be sanitized.

+ Test D - 01/03/1997

6:00: SCP-XXXX was placed in a 20°C lab, surrounded by glass panels and with an albino rat inside. A second rat is placed outside, in a similar box, as a control.
7:00: The experimental rat has fungal growths, similar to the pig carcass. No noticeable changes to the control rat.
7:20: The experimental rat has stopped moving and is presumed dead. No noticeable changes to the control carcass.
7:30: Rats are removed from their containers. The control rat is injected with cyanide and disposed. On biopsy, the experimental rat not only is covered in fungal growths, but is scattered with necrotic tissue. SCP-XXXX is promptly cleaned and returned to storage.

03/03/1997 5:30: Researcher in charge of SCP-XXXX has significant necrosis in his right arm. Preparing for amputation.
