Image of SCP-XXXX enclosure.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be secured in a lockable containment cell. Level 2 security clearance or higher is required for access. Currently, SCP-XXXX is stored in Site 15. A 3-phase power outlet has been installed in the containment cell for operating SCP-XXXX by authorised personnel. Two (2) security officers are to be present when SCP-XXXX is operated by D-Class personnel during experiments.
Description:
SCP-XXXX was secured on ██/██/████ from the [DATA REDACTED] level PC-2 laboratory. Refer to field notes for further information regarding procurement.
SCP-XXXX appears as a dull, grey metal enclosure. SCP-XXXX has a small hermetically sealed door (dimensions of 150mm x 100mm) with an 8mm thick glass window allowing an interior view of the enclosure. Upon inspection, a series of small mirrors can be seen near the top of the inside of the case. These mirrors align with a laser unit at the very top of the enclosure. Investigation of the laser components using X-ray microanalysis and electron microscopy reveal the laser medium is comprised of 92.5% [DATA REDACTED] and 7.8% [DATA REDACTED]. As such, the laser enclosing should not be opened.
At the bottom of the enclosure is a titanium disc (80mm diameter) and a sweeper arm (similar in shape to a standard automobile windscreen wiper). During operation the sweeper arm wipes over the titanium disc and deposits a thin layer of metal powder. Regions of metal powder is then selectively fused together by the laser mounted at the top of the enclosure. The tray then lowers by approximately 15 microns and this process is repeated until the part has been completely built.
The interface to operate SCP-XXXX is a green, LED lit button on the front of the machine. To initiate operation of SCP-XXXX the button must be directly pressed by a user of biological makeup. Once an individual has interacted with SCP-XXXX in such manner, the designation SCP-XXXX-1 is applied to their instance. Experiments using tools, implements or robots to press the button have resulted in no response from SCP-XXXX.
It has been noted that when the button of the machine has been pressed that a hatch door opens near the wiper assembly and metallic powder is deposited into the enclosure. The amount of metallic powder deposited will be enough to complete the fabrication of a single object. At this point, SCP-XXXX-1 will report feelings of nausea, head aches, light-headedness and/or blurred vision. Medical examinations of SCP-XXXX-1 instances directly after SCP-XXXX operation reveal deficiencies of essential metallic minerals (copper, zinc and iron most notably). It has been speculated that the loss of these minerals from the SCP-XXXX-1 physiology is directly proportional to the stoichiometric equivalent of metal powder deposited into SCP-XXXX. Although, further experimentation is required to validate these claims. Access to a supply of D-Class personnel has been lodged with the site director and is awaiting approval.
The components fabricated by SCP-XXXX appear organically designed, rather than the typical orthogonal geometry accustomed to typical engineering practices. The components once completed are designated as instances SCP-XXXX-2. The origin of the design for a SCP-XXXX-2 instance is unknown. The material composition of a SCP-XXXX-2 is consistent for all instances. However, the actual composition of this material is unknown. It is worth noting that the material is extremely durable with high tensile and compressible modulii. SCP-XXXX-2 instances are unique and suit a particular need or task of SCP-XXXX-1 exactly. The following is a notable list of SCP-XXXX-2 instances:
- Replacement spinal disc - Exactly suited for the particular SCP-XXXX-1 instance which operated SCP-XXXX. The SCP-XXXX-2 instance was secured for examination.
- A sharp razor - The SCP-XXXX-1 instance (D-3873) obtained the SCP-XXXX-2 instance before guards could apprehend them. One security officer was fatally wounded while the second security officer suffered minor lacerations. The SCP-XXXX-1 instance was terminated and SCP-XXXX-2 was secured.
- A small doll - A SCP-XXXX-1 instance occurred when a minor gained access to SCP-XXXX due to a breach in security protocol by senior researcher [DATA EXPUNGED]. The SCP-XXXX-2 resembled a relative of SCP-XXXX-1. Due to the age of SCP-XXXX-1 and the large amount of minerals required to fabricate SCP-XXXX-2 symptoms consistent with zinc and iodine deficiency caused cognitive developmental issues.

Foreword: Field Agent [DATA REDACTED] was assigned to investigate the reporting of an anomalous site found by local law enforcement agencies for a suspected mass homicide case in the [DATA REDACTED] building on the date of ██/██/████. The following audio log was recorded by agent [DATA REDACTED] for documentation.
[BEGIN AUDIO LOG]
[07:12]
Agent "This is agent [DATA REDACTED] documenting case 198-Alpha. Current alias depicts myself as a high level government agent. Expected to arrive at 198-Alpha site at 0900 hours."
[09:02]
Agent "Arrived on site and interviewed local enforcement personnel. They suspect the case is a mass homicide. Although, they are cautious of the facility and have not extensively entered. I have ordered a perimeter to be setup and have taken jurisdiction."
[09:16]
Agent "I have entered the crime scene in Wing C of the facility. The level PC-2 laboratory is still under lock down following this organisations security protocols. I have requested access to the restricted laboratory space to collect more information. Enforcement agencies have obliged and sent technical staff to the control room. Blood can be seen pooling under the lab door."
[09:25]
Agent "Access to the PC-2 laboratory has been achieved. The room has several compartments housing typical biological research equipment. One wall of shelves is stocked with large amounts of multivitamins and mineral supplements. So far no anomalous instances have been observed. Continuing investigation as per instructed."
[09:27]
Agent "A locked compartment was found containing approximately 5 bodies and a machine. This machine is producing some kind of light, like it is melting bits of metal together? Strange…otherwise, there are three bodies leaning against a wall while the other two are prone near the machine. One has a blood bag connected to his arm. The other appears to have disconnected it letting the blood bag empty itself onto the floor. That explains the bloody mess leaking outside."
[09:29]
Agent "The three bodies are adorned with metallic religious symbols. Unsure of their origin. Wait, the machine has stopped whatever it was doing…whatever it was making. A part is rising out of the machine. It looks similar to the other religious symbols present in the room."
Another person can be heard entering the room
Voice 1 "Sir, all the buildings shutdown protocols have successfully lifted. The rest of the building appears unused."
Agent "Thank you, you are dismissed."
Voice 1 is heard leaving
[09:31]
Agent "Field agent [DATA REDACTED] reporting, requesting MTF Iota-10 to deploy. Secure suspected anomalous instance until it can be transported. Area 198-Alpha currently under local law enforcement patrol. Also, class A-amnestics required for a small number of exposed individuals."

The video will depict a non-Foundation researcher wearing the aforementioned religious symbols, dressed in stereotypical scientific attire (labcoat, etc). He will be standing next to SCP-XXXX. He is attached to a blood bag and appears unwell. The following script is proposed:
in a weary tone
"This is Senior Scientist [REDACTED] documenting test forty-seven. Donor specimen is of high purity. I'm expecting this latest specimen to yield the best results to date. Here we go…"
Scientist operates SCP-XXXX. He flinches in pain moments after. He then picks himself up astutely and examines the window of the machine.
"Yes. Test forty-seven has commenced. Melting properties are good. Wait…"
He looks into enclosure using microscope lenses on top of machine.
"That can't be…that's more than last time…oh…oh no…"
He paces back and forth. Then looking into camera, his expression now distressed.
"I swear, I'm still strong, this must be a mistake. Or maybe this is the true one. Maybe these others (touching the symbols he is wearing), these others are wrong."
He reaches for his eye. When he touches it he realises there is blood on his eye.
The camera shuts off and the Foundation logo is displayed.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored in Site-15 and is secured in a standard containment cell. A 3-phase power outlet has been installed in the containment cell for operating SCP-XXXX. Two security officers are to be present when SCP-XXXX is operated by D-Class personnel during experiments. Access requires Level-2 clearance.
SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be given immediate medical treatment for mineral deficiency. Monitoring of blood mineral levels is also required in an effort to prevent severe illness. An appointment with a medical officer must be made in advance of testing. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are not required to remain in the containment cell for SCP-XXXX to complete a SCP-XXXX-2 instance.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances are to be stored after testing is complete. Caution is advised for researchers removing SCP-XXXX-2 instances from SCP-XXXX as loose metal particulates may be present in the enclosure. Inhalation of particulates may irritate the airway. A filter mask is available in the storage locker outside the containment cell.
