Title: Ice Walkers
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Scp-XXXX-1 is to be contained in a thermo-sensitive containment chamber, measuring 7m x 5m x 10m, with a viewing window angled at 45 degrees. Recording devices and other electronics are not used inside the containment chamber, as the atmosphere Scp-XXXX creates makes such devices unable to operate at the temperature. Documentation and experimentation should be held outside containment chamber. Anyone handling or experimenting with Scp-XXXX-1 must wear insulating clothing and nomex gloves, or something similar.
All free range Scp-XXXX are to be monitored 24/7 at Site-██. At least two (2) trucks that can survive the Antarctic climate are to follow Scp-XXXX making sure they stay within approved parameters. Loud music of any genre (preferably a fast-paced song) can be used to herd Scp-XXXX.
No personnel is to touch Scp-XXXX without any type of protection.
Description: Scp-XXXX is a humanoid being of low sentience, made completely of ice. Scp-XXXX ranges from 2-3 meters in height, it has an abrasive surface and lacks any noticeable features all. There are currently 7 entities of Scp-XXXX. One of them (classified as Scp-XXXX-1) is currently contained at Site-17, while the others roam free around Site-██, for natural observation. Scp-XXXX was in fact discovered wandering outside of Site-██,located in Antarctica. One was captured without any complication.
Scp-XXXX is a naturally cold being. Any area where Scp-XXXX is introduced will drop temperature to about -30 degrees Celsius. Multiple screenings have shown that Scp-XXXX is only made up of dense ice, it is unknown how Scp-XXXX is able to function. Scp-XXXX lacks any visual or auditory senses. However, experimentation has shown that it can sense through vibrations. Scp-XXXX can tell if something is moving or speaking from the vibrations the subject gives off. Scp-XXXX is very sensitive to such vibrations, even the tiniest of sounds. Using loud music has proven to be helpful in herding Scp-XXXX. They move away from sounds of a high amplitude, regardless of frequency.
All seven specimens of Scp-XXXX tend to wander around in no direct pattern. A theory suggests that Scp-XXXX cannot stop moving or else it will freeze completely and be unable to move.
It is also noted that Scp-XXXX is normally docile, and does not attack others. However when Scp-XXXX is attacked or forcefully stopped, Scp-XXXX will enter a state of distress and release a freezing fog as a self defense mechanism. The air surrounding an agitated Scp-XXXX will become foggy and the temperature will drop 300 degrees, any living biological creature near Scp-XXXX will become frozen solid.
Addendum 01: Experiment logs
Multiple tests have been performed with Scp-XXXX-1 to try to understand it better.
Experiment 1-A:
Procedure: D-0931 is to approach and touch Scp-XXXX-1. D-0931 is not given any type of coat or gloves.
Result: Scp-XXXX-1 did not move from the D class, however D-0931 quickly pulled his hand away, the flesh of the hand turned a dark purple color and experienced the early stages of hypothermia. D-0931 is to have his hand amputated.
Experiment 1-B:
Procedure: D-8923 is to approach and touch Scp-XXXX-1. D-8923 is given a pair of nomex gloves and an insulating coat.
Result: D-8923 successfully touched the surface of Scp-XXXX-1’s arm. Scp-XXXX was not bothered and continued to wander.
Notes: Nomex gloves are normally used to handle extremely hot objects, however they work wonderfully with handling Scp-XXXX-1.
Experiment 2-A:
Procedure: D-6745 is to walk and casually bump into Scp-XXXX-1. D-6745 is given an insulated coat and a pair of nomex gloves.
Result: Scp-XXXX-1 stopped as D-6745 bumped into it, then Scp-XXXX-1 began to follow D-6745 where ever it walked in the chamber. Scp-XXXX-1 did not seem hostile in anyway, but more interested in D-6745.
Experiment 3-A:
Procedure: D-1245 is to talk or make any noise at Scp-XXXX-1. D-1245 is given an insulated coat and a pair of nomex gloves.
Result: Scp-XXXX-1 was interested in D-1245 when he talked loudly at Scp-XXXX-1 and began to walk closer towards D-1245.
Experiment 4-A:
Procedure: D-2278 is to shove Scp-XXXX-1. D-2278 is given an insulated coat and a pair of nomex gloves.
Result: Scp-XXXX-1 became agitated after D-2278 walked up to Scp-XXXX-1 and pushed it against the chest. The temperature within the chamber dropped a significant amount of degrees. Sector ██ of Site 17 was closed down, after two hours Scp-XXXX-1 reached a docile state. The body of D-2278 was recovered from the containment chamber, completely frozen.
Addendum 02:
Proposal 1-A: A vibrating fence surrounding an area by Site-██ should be used to contain all free range Scp-XXXX so trucks wouldn't have to be used to herd them.
Proposal 2-A: Researcher ██████ would like to test Scp-XXXX with Scp-457. The results of the two opposite beings should be quite interesting. Awaiting Senior Researcher Stein for approval.
