Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment cell a humanoid containment cell with a door reinforced with 0.23 meter steel¹, and a ceiling no lower than three meters tall. SCP-XXXX's cell is furnished with a writing desk with a standard 24-count box of crayons and sheets of construction paper, and a power outlet fitted to the wall for the charging of SCP-XXXX’s e-reader. Food is to be supplied roughly once every three days.

During designated recreational periods, SCP-XXXX is allowed to visit the exterior of Site-17 to fly, accompanied by Foundation security guards stationed on the ground. If SCP-XXXX attempts to reach an altitude higher than fifteen meters, the Scranton Reality Anchor in the collar on SCP-XXXX’s neck is to be activated to force SCP-XXXX to land immediately. Any and all incidents are to be reported according to Foundation guidelines and SCP-XXXX’s outdoor flight privileges are to be withheld until appropriate disciplinary measures are implemented.

Should SCP-XXXX be required to inject any kind of drug, the dosage must be at least five times higher than normal for the drug to take effect.

Addendum: As of 07/13/20██, SCP-XXXX has been given a [REDACTED] brand e-reader with Frey.aic patched into its network to monitor and designate SCP-XXXX’s authorized reading material. This is considered a reward for SCP-XXXX’s continual cooperative behavior and may be revoked if SCP-XXXX misbehaves.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid physically indistinguishable from a Caucasian human with blue eyes and straight red hair. Its wrists are tattooed with stylized bird icons².

SCP-XXXX's main anomalous quality is an innate sense of whether a person is soon destined to die. It may attempt to rescue the person in question but so far, this has only succeeded in cases where the person's death would be through violent means. In the event of a failure on SCP-XXXX’s part, it will kneel before the person’s remains, muttering a chant in a dialect of an extinct Norse tongue. After this event, a faint blue light has been observed to rise from the area around the corpse and continue into the sky.³ SCP-XXXX suppresses its death sensor as best it can, but upon allowing it to activate, SCP-XXXX cannot choose whose death it senses or how vividly it perceives the death.

SCP-XXXX is capable of unaided flight and has a tendency to hover approximately 1-3 meters from the floor. On occasion it will rotate upside-down and “sit” on the ceiling. Initially, it was believed that this was the only anomalous quality that SCP-XXXX possessed. Tests with SRAs indicate that flight is the result of a reality-altering ability. SCP-XXXX displays a higher degree of strength than humans and greater physical durability.

Recovery: SCP-XXXX first came to Foundation attention on 07/30/20██, when a video of the entity was posted to @███████'s Twitter feed. The video displayed SCP-XXXX muttering to a customer in its shop⁴ as it ascended to shelves near the ceiling and floated there for approximately twenty seconds, rummaging in boxes on the shelves. Field Agent Locke was dispatched to the area to quietly bring in SCP-XXXX. Class A amnestics were distributed to those present at the scene and @███████'s Twitter account was permanently suspended.

Foreword: Interview dated on 07/30/20██, just after recovery of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX's containment cell was not fully prepared at the time of the interview.

Doctor Fischer: Good morning, Eri⁵.

SCP-XXXX: Morning…

Doctor Fischer: How are you feeling?

SCP-XXXX: I’m okay, I guess. It’s weird being confined like this. I’ve been to jail before, but there’s always more than just a bed…

Doctor Fischer: The Foundation is currently furnishing a containment unit for you. The one you stayed in overnight is used for most sapient SCPs upon recovery.

SCP-XXXX: SCPs?

Doctor Fischer: My organization, the SCP Foundation, specializes in locating, containing, and researching entities that exhibit anomalous properties or qualities. We call those entities SCPs.

SCP-XXXX: Makes sense…

Doctor Fischer: With humanoid entities like you, the Foundation assigns psychiatrists to monitor mental and emotional well-being. You can call me Fischer, Fish, anything really.

SCP-XXXX: Okay. Doctor Fischer.

[SCP-XXXX nods.]

Doctor Fischer: Tell me about yourself.

SCP-XXXX: Uh, well, I'm Eri, I'm non-binary. I know I look pretty feminine, but they and them, not she. I'm a Valkyrie. I try not to fight unless I have to, because humans are squishy and really easy to hurt.

Doctor Fischer: Can you tell me where you came from?

[SCP-XXXX noticeably perks up, smiling and nodding with enthusiasm.]

SCP-XXXX: I was born on Asgard, which at the time was…I want to say thirteen light years from Earth? That was about four thousand years ago.

Doctor Fischer: And why did you come to Earth?

SCP-XXXX: Which time? I had a few missions here before I decided to stay.

Doctor Fischer: The first time, please.

[SCP-XXXX shifts in its chair and brushes a strand of hair behind its ear.]

SCP-XXXX: I was around five hundred years old. It was my first outing after joining the Valkyrie about a century before, and I was supposed to check in on a settlement that was experiencing dragon attacks. It was in Mesopotamia, somewhere near [REDACTED] I think.

Doctor Fischer: And how old were you when you decided to remain on Earth?

SCP-XXXX: One thousand and thirty-four years old.

Doctor Fischer: Why did you stay?

SCP-XXXX: Well, that’s easy.

Doctor Fischer: Why do you say that?

SCP-XXXX: I got sick of being told where to go, what to do. I couldn’t stay on Asgard. This planet…what I’d seen of it I liked. All kinds of different cultures developing. I figured it’d make a nice home.

Doctor Fischer: Is that why you opened your store?

SCP-XXXX: Pretty much, yeah. I've also just always liked making things. For a while it was drawing, then cooking, but most of my life I've liked fashion.

Doctor Fischer: And were your customers made aware of your status as an extra-terrestrial?

SCP-XXXX: Eh…I never tried to hide what I am. I guess they've just assumed, whatever they see, it's part of my brand. Valkyrie is kind of a commonplace term, with all the pop-culture stuff going on.

[Doctor Fischer produces a cell phone and plays @███████'s video.]

Doctor Fischer: Then can you explain how this ended up all over the internet?

[SCP-XXXX leans in to watch, then visibly blushes.]

SCP-XXXX: Yeah…I got a little excited. Martin⁶ wanted some armor - actual armor, can you imagine? - and I hadn't made any in a while. Guess I wasn't paying much attention, and then someone got footage.

Doctor Fischer: And this doesn't bother you?

SCP-XXXX: Why would it?

Doctor Fischer: This video led directly to your containment.

[SCP-XXXX remains silent for thirteen seconds.]

SCP-XXXX: Fuck.

[A knock sounds at the door. Doctor Fischer checks the time.]

Doctor Fischer: I believe that’s all we have time for today. Your containment unit should be nearly ready by now.

SCP-XXXX: Okay. Thank you. And if you guys are curious, I can always tell you more. It’s not like I’ve really been hiding.

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX was subsequently relocated to its permanent containment cell at Site-17. Due to the easy conversation flow between the two, Doctor Fischer was assigned as SCP-XXXX's psychiatrist and default contact with Foundation personnel.

Begin Log

[SCP-XXXX is seated on the ground of its cell, braiding its hair over its shoulder. At 23:07, it suddenly freezes and floats to a standing position.]

SCP-XXXX: Shit…

[SCP-XXXX begins to pace back and forth, growing increasingly agitated as time passes.]

[At 23:18, SCP-███ breaches containment.]

[At 23:20, SCP-XXXX begins hitting the door to its cell with an open palm.]

SCP-XXXX: Out! Let me out!

[Upon receiving no response from guards, SCP-XXXX draws back and flings itself at the door, breaking it from its hinges and breaching containment. SCP-XXXX proceeds to fly through Site-17 until it reaches Sector 4A, where SCP-███ is engaged in combat against a small group of guards, including on-site Security Officer J████ Browning. Upon witnessing SCP-XXXX land between himself and SCP-███, Officer Browning stops shooting for a moment and grabs SCP-XXXX.]

Officer Browning: What the hell?!

[SCP-XXXX is quick to grab Officer Browning's arm instead, steering him away from SCP-███.]

SCP-XXXX: You're in danger, sorry for this-

[Officer Browning jerks his arm out of SCP-XXXX's grip and aims his firearm at its chest. SCP-XXXX raises its arms.]

Officer Browning: Back to your cell, XXXX! I don't need shooting a sapient on my conscience.

SCP-XXXX: That's the thing, sir, you-

Officer Browning: SCP-XXXX!

SCP-XXXX: Officer, listen to m-

[Officer Browning fires a shot at SCP-XXXX, which is struck in the leg and flung backward.]

Officer Browning: Cell, now!

[SCP-XXXX exhibits signs of extreme distress and frustration, just before SCP-███ appears in-frame and terminates Officer Browning. SCP-XXXX flattens itself against the ceiling until SCP-███ is recontained at 24:21. SCP-XXXX then drops to the floor and kneels next to Officer Browning's corpse.]

SCP-XXXX: Not again…

[SCP-XXXX proceeds to say something in a foreign tongue. A blue light is observed to form above Officer Browning's remains, then rise and dissipate. SCP-XXXX is recontained without incident at 24:28.]

After the incident, SCP-XXXX was interviewed by Doctor Fischer while Foundation personnel replaced the door on SCP-XXXX's cell. SCP-XXXX indicated that it had sensed Officer Browning's impending death and felt compelled to rescue him.

Dr. Fischer: SCP-XXXX, I understand that you're upset, but we've been over this. If Dr. Holt asks for your perspective you need to give it.

SCP-XXXX: He knows exactly what happened. It's his fault.

Dr. Fischer: Can you explain what that means?

SCP-XXXX: Micah, please-

Dr. Fischer: Eri.

[SCP-XXXX shifts and pulls its knees closer to its chest. Dr. Fischer sighs.]

Dr. Fischer: Eri, please? It'll make things easier on all of us.

SCP-XXXX: …I could've saved them.

Dr. Fischer: Pardon?

SCP-XXXX: If he'd let me, I could've saved them.

Dr. Fischer: Letting you out would have been a security breach. There's a reason your door is stronger now.

SCP-XXXX: But isn't the Foundation supposed to protect people? That's what you told me you were doing. Maybe the D-class I could understand, you don't treat them very well in general, but fifteen researchers…

Dr. Fischer: Holt was doing his job, Eri. Yes, loss of life is always terrible, but it comes with the job. Working with objects like the ones in this site gets dangerous.

[SCP-XXXX rubs at the bandages on its arms and winces.]

SCP-XXXX: …I think I need more aspirin.

Dr. Fischer: You know, if you keep hurting yourself you're going to deplete the supply quicker than we can refill it.

[Dr. Fischer chuckles while moving to retrieve the painkillers. SCP-XXXX scoffs.]

SCP-XXXX: You're not funny. You know that?

Dr. Fischer: Oh, I think you still like me just fine.

[The conversation continues as extraneous small talk. SCP-XXXX is relocated to its cell, where it huddles in a fetal position and refuses to eat for the following three weeks, in which Dr. Fischer attempts to speak with it daily.]

Note: I think this incident took a larger toll on Eri SCP-XXXX than the others. They It felt no less than sixteen imminent deaths and was only allowed to save one of them. Even discounting the dislocated shoulder and various bruises, SCP-XXXX is in pain. I talk with it almost every day now and based on the reactions I get, I'm to diagnose it with depression. Since meds don't work very well in small doses, I think letting it indulge in its interests more often. Let it fly more, give it some books. - Fish

Addendum XXXX.A: After two months of treatment based on Dr. Fischer's proposals, SCP-XXXX has displayed a more lighthearted demeanor, similar to what it was before Incident XXXX-08. Dr. Holt has allowed these treatment methods to continue on the basis of increased cooperation.

Note: I get the Nook makes it feel better, but for God's sake, if SCP-XXXX stops complying just take it away. An object's feelings aren't worth limiting our research. - Dr. Holt

Addendum XXXX.B: As of ██/██/201█, SCP-XXXX has begun reporting “strange” dreams and describing the beginning of Ragnarok, stating that “the Serpent is waking.” SCP-XXXX seems to be unwilling or unable to elaborate on this; the Foundation is currently researching potential connections to SCP-169 and/or SCP-3000.
