Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX has been closed to the public. Two plainclothes security personnel are to constantly monitor SCP-XXXX for intruders. Intruders are to be detained and interviewed, then amnesticized if deemed necessary. Provisional Site-XXXX has been constructed at [DATA EXPUNGED] for the purpose of monitoring Eruption Events and harvesting SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is kept in a standard anomalous item locker at Site-19. Level 2 medical personnel or higher may withdraw no more than 20 ml at a time for testing purposes. Use of SCP-XXXX-1 on personnel is prohibited except in the event of an emergency.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an active volcano located in the [DATA EXPUNGED] mountain range of [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX can only be accessed through a small tunnel in the northwestern side of the volcano. SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties manifest for one hour each year during the winter solstice. This is referred to as a Eruption Event.

During an Eruption Event, the walls of the volcano begin to shake at approximately 5.5 on the Richter scale. Curiously, no geological evidence of these quakes have been found. Following this, an intense purple light covers the entirety of SCP-XXXX for 1 (one) hour with an intensity of approximately 5000 lumens. Immediately after the light fades,

Addendum: Experiment Log XXXX:

Experiment XXXX-01: Determine effects of ingestion of SCP-XXXX-1 by subject.
Procedure: D-5902 is instructed to drink 20 ml of SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: Subject describes the taste of SCP-XXXX-1 as hot and unpleasant. However, within two minutes, subject states they feel physically rejuvenated. Post-experiment medical examination reveals all organs functioning at optimal efficiency, and increased growth of neural pathways within the subject’s brain.

Experiment XXXX-02: Determine effects of ingestion of SCP-XXXX-1 by injured subject.
Procedure: D-3486, suffering from terminal cancer, is instructed to drink 20 ml of SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: Subject describes SCP-XXXX-1’s taste as “fiery”. Subject refuses to elaborate. After five minutes, subject complains of intense heat within their liver (the location of the majority of cancer cells). Post-experiment medical examination reveals cancer cells within D-3486’s liver have been incinerated.

Experiment XXXX-03: Determine effects of ingestion by non-human organisms.
Procedure: 1 (one) chimpanzee is fed SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: Smoke comes out of the chimpanzee’s ears for five minutes, before dissipating. Post-experiment medical examination does not reveal any unusual or anomalous conditions.

Conclusion: After thorough testing, it has been determined that SCP-XXXX-1 only affects human beings. Treatment of diseases with SCP-XXXX-1 has been proven to be approximately 130% more effective than modern medicine.
