SCP #: SCP-XXXX “Dragon Orb”
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are contained within two different standard secure lockers within Site-XXXX. Only personnel with at least level 3 security clearance are allowed access to both SCP-XXXX objects.
Description:
SCP-XXXX consists of two objects. SCP-XXXX-1, a stone orb and SCP-XXXX-2, the severed right limb of an, as of yet, unidentified organism.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a stone orb with a diameter of roughly 36cm it is composed of two components, an outer layer and a core orb. The outer layer of SCP-XXXX-1 is made of igneous rocks and approximately 9 cm thick. Analysis of a sample of the outer layer shows that it is made out of approximately 90% equal parts of granite, basalt, andesite and diorite and 10% equal parts of pumice, peridotite and obsidian by weight. In the case, the outer shell is broken and leaves the inner core exposed, igneous rock will slowly form and cover the area over a period of 9 days, after which, it will stop.
The core of SCP-XXXX-1 is an orb with a diameter of 27cm made of a translucent, dark blue glass-like material, reminiscent of obsidian. Attempts to take samples of the core have proven impossible, as no method to safely procure a sample of the core for analysis has been achieved. The curvature of the surface is seemingly perfectly circular, being precise down to the atomic level.
SCP-XXXX-2 is the severed right limb from an unknown reptilian organism, approximately 1 m long. SCP-XXXX-2 is desiccated and seemingly requires no special conditions to maintain its current level of preservation. Tissue samples from the skin, muscle and bone of SCP-XXXX-2 does not match any organism known to the Foundation. Radiocarbon dating of SCP-XXXX-2 has shown it is approximately 1500 years old.
The overall structure of SCP-XXXX-2 includes a forearm and foot. The foot is approximately 35% of the length of SCP-XXXX-2. Each digit in the foot ends in a claw, approximately 9 cm in length, with each digit being 25 cm long. The four digits are arranged radially from each other, with 3 digits all 18 degrees of each other, with the last digit being on the opposite to the middle finger. The digits are stiff and unable to be moved safely without damaging SCP-XXXX-2, being spread out.
When SCP-XXXX-1 comes into contact with the centre of SCP-XXXX-2’s foot, the fingers will animate and grasp SCP-XXXX-1 tightly, until the outer layer is crushed by the pressure and the digits of SCP-XXXX-2 have come into full contact with the core of SCP-XXXX-1. In this state (henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-3) SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 can not be taken apart until a certain duration of time has passed, during this time the outer layer of SCP-XXXX-1 will not replenish. So far, the duration of SCP-XXXX-3 has been anywhere from 9 hours to 81 hours, always as a multiple of 9 in hours.
During the SCP-XXXX-3 state, any individual who comes into contact with SCP-XXXX-3 is granted the ability to project themselves in real-time to any location within a 9km radius, with SCP-XXXX-3 as the centre. When projected, an individual can touch, see, smell and hear as if they were at that location, however, they can not interact with any objects. There is currently no way to detect an individual using SCP-XXXX-3 at a projected location. There are no limits to how many locations can be projected to, as long as the SCP-XXXX-3 state continues. Prolonged usage of SCP-XXXX-3 by D class personnel has shown no ill side effects. SCP-XXXX-3 can be moved and thus change the area being looked at by any individual using SCP-XXXX-3. When separating, SCP-XXXX-2 loosens its grip, allowing SCP-XXXX-1 to roll away.

Description:
SCP-XXXX consists of two objects. SCP-XXXX-1, a stone orb and SCP-XXXX-2, the severed right limb of an, as of yet, unidentified organism.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a stone orb with a diameter of roughly 36cm with a mass of 68.4 kilograms, it is composed of two components, an outer layer and an inner core. The outer layer of SCP-XXXX-1 is made of igneous rocks and approximately 9 cm thick. Analysis of a sample of the outer layer shows that it is made out of approximately equal parts of granite, basalt, andesite and diorite by mass. In the case, the outer shell is broken and leaves the inner core exposed, igneous rock will slowly form and cover the area over a period of 9-10 days when the layer has reached approximately 9 cm this process ceases.
The inner core of SCP-XXXX-1 is an orb with a diameter of 27cm made of a translucent, dark blue glass-like material, reminiscent of obsidian. Attempts to take samples of the core have proven impossible, as no method to safely procure a sample of the core for analysis has been achieved yet. The curvature of the surface is seemingly perfectly circular, being precise down to the atomic level.
SCP-XXXX-2 is the severed right limb from an unknown reptilian organism, approximately 1 m long. SCP-XXXX-2 is desiccated and mostly intact, seemingly requiring no special conditions to maintain its current level of preservation.
The four digits are arranged radially from each other, with 3 digits grouped together and the last digit opposite to the middle finger. The digits are stiff and unable to be moved safely without damaging SCP-XXXX-2 and remain spread out flat.
In this state (henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-3) SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 can not be taken apart until a certain duration of time has passed, during this time the outer layer of SCP-XXXX-1 will not restore itself. So far, the duration of SCP-XXXX-3 has been anywhere from 9 hours to 81 hours, always as a multiple of 9 in hours. By the end of the duration, SCP-XXXX-2 will loosen its grip on SCP-XXXX-1 and detach, either falling to the ground or letting SCP-XXXX-1 roll away. After SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 has been detached, the SCP-XXXX-3 state cannot be achieved again until after at least 9 hours has passed.
During the SCP-XXXX-3 state, any individual who comes into contact with SCP-XXXX-3 is granted the ability to project themselves in real-time to any location within a 90km radius, with SCP-XXXX-3 as the centre. When projected, an individual can touch, see, smell and hear as if they were at that location, however, they can not interact with any objects. Prolonged usage of SCP-XXXX-3 by D class personnel has shown no ill side effects. SCP-XXXX-3 is transportable and can be moved while it is being used.
Addendum
SCP-XXXX was discovered in an ancient burial site located in Ryanggang Province, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea by North Korean miners in 1949. After the North Korean government became aware of SCP-XXXX anomalous properties, the North Korean military used the SCP for espionage and intelligence gathering. The SCP was recovered by the Foundation on 24th of April, 1951, after an investigation into the possible usage of an anomaly by the North Korean government during the Korean War.
