4th Dimensional Ping Pong Demon
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-4232

Object Class: Safe Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4232-1 is to be kept in a standard glass steel case and is not to be removed unless authorized by a Level 3 staff member or higher. Following the first Orran event, SCP-4232-1 now has at least one (1) armed guard without access to SCP-4232 stationed outside its room at all times. SCP-4232-1 is only to be handled by Level 3 staff or higher and now has a camera watching it 24/7. If any unauthorized personnel are viewed attempting to access during an Orran event, they are to be stopped by the guards and security is to be sent to SCP-4232-1's room.

Description: SCP-4232 is a 4th-dimensional entity of unknown appearance. It almost completely trapped in the 4th dimension, with an unknown number of 3rd-dimensional appendages taking the form of various sports balls, with the majority being ping pong balls. Only one of these appendages has been but in foundation custody and has been named SCP-4232-1. Under most circumstances, SCP-4232 will bounce like a normal ping pong ball would, but will not lose any bounce height for what appears to be an infinite amount of time. 12% of subjects claim to be unable to see SCP-4232-1 if viewed through recordings with high brightness. If the lightness is lowered beyond a varying point, subjects regain sight of SCP-4232-1. Dr. █████ believes this to be the effect of SCP-4232-1 existing partially in the 4th dimension but is still confused by the effect of the brightness.

Under unknown circumstances, SCP-4232-1 will begin magnifying its bounce height by an unknown factor, eventually gaining enough force to break through solid concrete. This is known as an Orran event, and the foundation believes this to be SCP-4232's attempt at crossing the 3rd-dimensional plane. It is unknown what would take place if such an event occurred, but it is agreed that it likely would end badly with some even saying it could cause a K-class end of the world scenario.

During the Orran event, the first sapient animal within a 10-metre radius will attempt to access SCP-4232-1 and bounce it on the floor, resulting in SCP-4232-1 destroying its containment room and SCP-4232 breaking through the 3rd-dimensional barrier.

Addendum 4232-1: Experiment #1, pre-Orran event:
Dr. █████ requested that SCP-4232-1 was to be placed in a 1-metre tall, plastic tube and bounced in the tube for a period of one (1) day. Upon returning, Dr. █████ discovered SCP-4232-1 still bouncing in the tube at the exact same height. Dr. █████ decided to extend the period to one (1) week. Again, this period passed, and there was no difference in height. Dr. █████ then decided that SCP-4232-1 would be left in the tube for one (1) month, and if it was still the same, he would terminate the experiment. He returned a month later to find it still bouncing at the same height and terminated the experiment.

Addendum 4232-2: Experiment #2, pre-Orran event:
Dr. █████ requested that SCP-4232-1 was dropped from a helicopter flying 3000 metres off of the ground to see if SCP-4232-1 would return to its drop height or if it has a limit on how high it could bounce. When carried out, SCP-4232-1 returned to the drop height of 3000 metres and maintained that height for 10 more bounces before the test was terminated. Results show that SCP-4232 was not affected by wind, further extending its anomalous properties.

Addendum 4232-3: The first Orran event:
A level 2 researcher removed SCP-4232-1 from its case and bounced it on the floor, letting it bounce for about 20 seconds. After these 20 seconds, SCP-4232-1 began magnifying its momentum by an unknown factor, eventually gaining enough force to begin breaking the concrete floor. A researcher that was passing by noticed something off in SCP-4232-1's cell and notified security. While being questioned, the researcher that accessed SCP-4232-1 had no memory of doing so, and after deeper interrogation, was found to have been controlled by SCP-4232, resulting in SCP-4232 to be deemed a cognitohazard.
