Description:SCP-4506 is an occult alphabet that seems to all research to predate the age of the Earth itself. It consists of 32 different pictographic and symbolic characters of varying complexity. Due to the complexity of the symbols involved it is deemed unsuitable for standard communications and information recording. SCP-4506 represents a significant α-Ω class cognitohazard. The use of various components of SCP-4506 has been noted in various occult organisations and religious sects. SCP-4506 is deemed memetic due to two separate reasons, 1: SCP-4506 or portions of it spontaneously occur to individuals with a generally antisocial, alienated, disenfranchised, or otherwise psychosis ridden psyche.

As stated this occurs spontaneously in a vacuum with no prior knowledge of SCP-4506 whether in entirety or in partiality. 2:Physical manifestations of SCP-4506, henceforth addressed as SCP-4506-1, have the ability to be memetically transferred between valid targets as knowledge of an individual being targeted by an instance of SCP-4506-1 or any type of interaction of SCP-4506-1 with the individual is enough to memetically spread the instance.

Both SCP-4506 and SCP-4506-1 are to regarded as previously mentioned an α-Ω cognitohazard. Instances of SCP-4506-1 as described the few still remaining targets of the instance all describe it as the true embodiment of fear, although visual descriptions of the instance varying wildly. From this, it has been hypothesized that instances of SCP-4506-1 are to some extent telepathic and metamorphic, as evidenced by the differing visual description of the instances from few remaining targets, yet all individual targets regarding the instances as a true embodiment of what they fear. This leads to the hypothesis that the instances through a form of subconscious telepathy it morphs it's visual appearance and abilities to that of what the individual target fears. If death can be avoided from an extended interaction of SCP-4506-1 instance the aforementioned cognitohazard of results, presenting itself ion a form of psychosis and paranoia, hypothesized top leave the individual more susceptible to the memetic effects of SCP-4506.

ADDENDUM-4506-A: No strength of Foundation developed amnesctics are able to affect the memetic or cognitohazardous effects of both SCP-4506 and SCP-4506-1 instances. No D-Class personnel are allowed to access nor be kept in the G2-D.I.C.A. due to their D-Class designation making them particularly susceptible to the spontaneous memetic effects of SCP-4506. Similarly, no exposure to SCP-4506 is permitted to the O5 council, by order of the O5 council and The Administrator due to the nature of some permitted containment and retrieval protocols enacted by the Foundation at their request.

ADDENDUM 4506-B:It is known to the Foundation that both the Global Occult Coalition and The Serpenta Hand possess a full copy of SXCP-4506. Whilst the G.O.C. seemingly has research and experiments that have been parallel to the Foundation's involving SCP-4506, it is unknown to the Foundation as to what the Serpents Hand's research is being utilised for, or whether any research of SCP-4506 exists. Any research made by the Serpents Hand can only be speculated.

ADDENDUM 4506-B-1:The alphabet when utilised can be seen resonating across multiple dimensions. In analysing using [REDACTED] dimension viewing technology it would seem that the alphabet and symbology draws its thaumaturgic energy from the dimension associated with emotions, resonating on the fear frequency and carrying those energetic vibrations through to all other dimensions that it exists in.

ADDENDUM 4506-C:Research staff assigned to SCP-4506 will only be allowed to study this SCP in isolation, with senior researchers being permitted one junior researcher to assist in the capacity of data entry. All assigned staff are to undergo weekly psychological evaluations to ensure their ongoing mental fortitude against the hazardous effects of SCP-4506 after the incident 4506-Ω, see incident 4506-Ω-1

REPORT 4506-Ω-1:Researcher [REDACTED] was the primary Foundation staff member in charge of uncovering information on SCP-4506 and its potential applications. [REDACTED] had made significant progress on SCP-4506 in regards to its origins and its potential applications, seemingly in erratic leaps and bounds. This was the first indication that his loyalty to the Foundation may be in question. It became apparent when Junior Researcher [REDACTED] was entering the notes from [REDACTED] on SCP-4506. They noted that all major discoveries were occurring in a vacuum with no related notes leading to the discoveries. These include the information on [EXPUNGED] and how SCP-4506 influenced SCP-4506-1 instances via means of [EXPUNGED]. In reporting to the O5 council gave rise to operation Fly On The Wall. SUBJECT - Researcher [REDACTED]

The Subject was noted to be studying a full copy of SCP-4506 along with other texts relating to occult alphabets and symbology with other related thaumaturgic concepts. After the Subject became noticeably frustrated the observation drone acting as the "fly on the wall" reacted to the increased proximity between itself and the Subject latched itself onto the Subjects left shoulder. the subject was noted to have gone to the DICA wings break room, retrieving a paper cup of coffee and then heading to the bathroom acting noticeably paranoid and suspicious, the Subject then crouches down and inspects the stalls for other Foundation staff, in their absence he enters a stall and draws a series of glyphs suspected to be from SCP-4506 in mid-air with his fingertip resembling [REDACTED]. The resulting dark and shimmering void passed over the Subject and once the FOTW drone resolved its camera focus the Subject now appears inside a great hall. This is believed to be The Wanderers Library that the GoI The Serpents Hand is believed to be using as its base of operations. This hall extends indefinitely in all directions furnished with victorian era furniture and an incomprehensible number of bookshelves. after consulting a few tomes and texts, the Subject then was noted to draw the same glyphs followed by an additional one, after the resulting dark rift passed over the Subject they were noted to be in the same stall which they had used to enter The Wanderers Library. After more investigation, the bathroom stall used by the Subject to enter the Library is not a Way into the Library and it is posed that the Subject now has access to a Way inherent to themselves. It is noted that the drone's time signature present on all FOTW style drones was malfunctioning and only resumed programmed display protocols after the Subject had returned to the bathroom stall, indicating an anomalous passage of time present in The Wanderers Library.

The Subject of operation 4506-FOTW was immediately brought before the O5 council for disciplinary action. This resulted in immediate termination of the subject after relinquishing all of their findings on SCP4506.

The following debriefing of this O5 Council disciplinary hearing is protected under level 5Ω security protocols. Mimetic kill agent is in effect and any nonpermitted access of tampering with this file will result in immediate termination

The Subject was not terminated but in fact, as anomalous properties exhibited by the subject that was apparently gained from his study of SCP-4506 and the information gained from their visits to The Wanderers Library were deemed to be of potential benefit to the Foundation, they themselves were contained as an SCP under the Designation SCP-4509.
