Item #: SCP-X
Object Class: Euclid/Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is to remain on site 163 while unsupervised by foundation personnel. ~~SCP-X is not permitted interaction with any other SCPs excluding herself~~ due to SCP-X’s anomalous immunity to cognitohazards, she has been assigned as a transporter for cognitohazardous SCPs, as there is no risk of her being affected by them
Description: SCP-X refers to a foundation researcher by the name of Elizabeth Nightingale, a 20-year old human woman of average build and height.
SCP-X’s appearance consists of silver-white hair, pitch black skin, and red eyes sporting white irises. She stands at 1.6764 meters (5’6”) and weighs approximately 22.6796 kilograms (Exactly 50 pounds), making her extraordinarily underweight for her height and build.
SCP-X is fluent in Japanese and British-English dialect.
SCP-X, despite being under containment of the foundation, is an active employee and highly ranked researcher at site-163, possessing level 4 clearance.
SCP-X is scheduled to meet with O5-8 regularly for an evaluation of behavior and work productivity on the 21st of every month. The evaluation is conducted to establish [Redacted by request of 05-8]
Anomalous Appearance: As stated, SCP-X possesses natural silver-white hair, dark, rough skin, and blood-red eyes. SCP-X also possesses the ability to change her skin color to resemble a natural western-european woman. SCP-X, while transformed, will retain her silver hair, red eyes, and unnaturally low weight. The change is purely cosmetic, as testing has shown that the texture of her rough skin is still felt upon contact in her transformed state. SCP-X cannot hold her transformed state for longer than 4 hours (1 while in broad daylight), and upon reaching the stated limit, the illusion will wear off and she will revert back to her anomalous appearance.
While In her true appearance, SCP-X’s skin burns in natural sunlight, to the point of outputting smoke and a smell resembling that of burning flesh. This burning sensation is exceedingly painful for SCP-X, and if exposed to sunlight, will require immediate medical attention. Burnt flesh that can’t be repaired medically can be regenerated if SCP-X is placed in a pitch-black, lightless area for exactly 72 hours (Less time depending on the severity of the burn).
Note that non-natural light, such as light bulbs or candles, do not appear to trigger this burning effect. Testing has also shown that non-direct sunlight (Such as using a mirror to reflect the sun onto SCP-X) will not trigger this effect either.
Anomalous Abilities: SCP-X possesses the ability to merge into the ground, appearing as a circular shadow. While in this state, she can move at extraordinary speeds (Current top recorded speed has been clocked at 112 Kilometers (70 Miles) per hour. This ability is restricted to only moving along solid surfaces, and SCP-X cannot move through these surfaces. She can, however, travel beneath gaps that are greater than or equal to 1 centimeter in height.
SCP-X possesses nearly-perfect night vision, being able to see in the dark with exceedingly high accuracy. Her eyes have been noted to glow while in darker areas. Her eyes also adjust to light in a non-consistent way, with her retinas & pupils fluctuating in size. As such, she adjusts to new light levels much slower than most humans.
Anomalous Immunities: Amongst other anomalous abilities, SCP-X has also demonstrated immunities to cognitohazards, memes, and other effects from anomalous objects. Examples include.
1. Immunity to SCP-963, being unaffected after incident X-4
2. Immunity to SCP-2316’s illusionary effects. She did not recognize any of the bodies in the water. No, seriously.
3. Immunity to SCP-008. Bacteria immediately withered and died upon contact with skin
4. Immunity to SCP-049’s touch.
However, SCP-X is not immune to all anomalous effects. A prime example being SCP-001’s power of suggestion.
Due to these abilities, SCP-X has been involved with MTF-Sigma-2 (“Nightwatch”), a Mobile Task Force specializing in recovery of cognitohazardous/memetic objects, with SCP-X being the primary method of collection for the anomalous item in question
Note: By O5-order and Ethics committee request, SCP-X is not to be experimented on for her anomalous immunities. She may be studied, but only willingly on her part.
Incident X/963:
Report: SCP-963 transferred to site-163 for experimentation involving Dr. Mike Dredd, an expert on Thaumaturgic “Soul” binding, which he theorizes may be the cause of Jack Bright’s consciousness being trapped in SCP-963.
Dr. Bright (His most recent incarnation) will be marked as B, Dr. Dredd will be marked as D, and SCP-X will be labelled as E.
[[Begin Log]]
B: So you’re saying my soul is stuck in this thing?
D: That’s my theory at least. From my research in other soul-binding SCPs, and they work very similarly to how SCP-963 works
B: Thank christ..! I’m gettin’ tired of all this “Monkey Business” if you know what I mean..!
D: Ape, sir…ape.
Unbeknownst to the 2 researchers, SCP-X had wandered into the room. She then took notice of SCP-963 and picked it up
E: Ooh..! What a pretty necklace..!
SCP-X slips SCP-963 over her head
D: Wait, Dr. Nightingale..! Don’t put that—
B: Welp..! She’s a goner. Welcome to the Bright side, me.
SCP-X then glances at the two researchers, confused
E: …what? Is my eye readjusting again?
D: …Elizabeth..?
E: …uh…yeah..?
B: Wait, WHAT?!
D: Dr. Nightingale…how did you not become another instance of Dr. Bright after wearing SCP-963..?
E: Wait what?!
*She Immediately takes SCP-963 off and throws it at Dr. Dredd, who catches it*
E: Eww..!
B: HEY! I’m RIGHT HERE!
D: That’s…peculiar…I wonder why it had no effect on you…
B: Dr. Nightingale is it? You know full well you shouldn’t go around putting random stuff on around here! It could have catastrophic results!
E: You mean like turn me into you..?
B: ShhhhhhhADDUP..!
[[End Log]]
Employment with the foundation: SCP-X has been employed with the foundation since November 21st, 2018. She was a non-anomalous human being up until incident X-α occurred. Post-X-α, SCP-X was contained and examined until February 21st, 2019, where, through use of SCP-[DATA EXPUNGED], it was concluded that SCP-X had not been subject to any mind-alteration or cognitive shift. She swiftly regained her position in the foundation, and joined MTF-Sigma-2 soon after.

Item #: SCP-X-0
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X-0 is to remain in the possession of SCP-X due to its sentimental significance to her.
Description: SCP-X-0 Refers to a small, 5cm x 5cm music box that, when wound up, plays a folk song known as “Lament of the Crescent Moon”, which will henceforth be referred to as SCP-X-1.
The song has been thought to have thaumaturgic properties, and was commonly played by “Witches” during midnight hexing rituals in the late 17th century, most notably in the eastern United States of America during the infamous [REDACTED] Witch trials. The song was primarily used in hexing rituals with the intent to curse unsuspecting individuals with deformations to the body and mind. Reports have included spontaneous combustion of the victim, insanity, merging of the victim into their own shadow, and in the most extreme instance, [REDACTED].
The song, however, without the proper incantations to go with it, has no anomalous properties, and can be played safely through the act of winding SCP-X-0.
Discovery: SCP-X-0 and -1 were discovered with SCP-X after incident SCP-X-[REDACTED BY ORDER OF O5-8]]
Attached file; SCP-X’s interview with O5-8.
SCP-X’s dialogue will be marked as E, while O5-8’s will be marked as 8.
[[Begin Log]]
*SCP-X enters the office of the site overseer, where O5-8 is waiting for her*
E: Yes, O-8..? What is it you wanted to speak to me about?
8: Oh, I’m only dropping by to check in on you, Elizabeth. How have you been?
E: …O-8, that isn’t the reason you’ve come to speak to me, is it..?
8: Elizabeth, you think too highly of me. I only want to make sure that you are doing all right.
E: …O-8? Why did you put me in charge of researching myself? It doesn’t make any sense to me…I mean, you wouldn’t put 173 or 106 in charge of themselves, so why me..?
8: …Elizabeth. There are things about you that you do not even know about…for your own good.
E: You mean like where I came from? Who my family is..? Who I was before you guys found me..? Those things?
8: Yes, Elizabeth. Those things.
E: Why..? Why is who I am such a big secret that even I can’t know about..? Who am I, 8?! What am I?!
8: You will find out soon enough, Elizabeth. Now just isn’t the time, child.
E: Can you tell me something at least..? Anything!
8: …
E: …I take that as a no then.
8: …child…if I told you everything, your sweet little heart couldn’t handle it.
E: …
8: …hey, what about that little box you have..?
E: Oh, this..?
*SCP-X pulls SCP-X-0 out of her pocket*
8: Yes, that little thing. Give it a wind and let me hear it.
E: Uh…sure..?
*SCP-X Winds up the music box, and puts it on the table. The box begins to play.*
8: Oh, I remember this song from when I was a child…what was the song called again..?
E: …I think it was called something along the lines of “Lament of the Crescent Moon” or something like that…
8: Ah yes..! I remember now. Such a pretty song. Too bad this is only the first half of the song—
E: First half..?
8: …I’ve said too much.
