Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4xxx is to be kept in a standard containment locker within site-xx. Due to SCP-4xxx's anomalous properties, testing is to be carried out no less than once per week. Additional testing may be carried out following level 3 authorization. All Larami Super Soaker 110 Xtra Power water guns are to be cataloged and, if possible, legally obtained by Foundation personnel. Due to SCP-4xxx's nature, however, immediate action is not necessary. Any damage dealt to SCP-4xxx that hinders its basic function will result in a containment breach. In which case, the nearest 1990's Larami Super Soaker 110 Xtra Power water gun will immediately manifest SCP-4xxx's anomalous properties, and will need to be contained following SCP-4xxx's special containment procedure. All subjects used for testing with SCP-4xxx must be contained within a simple humanoid containment cell for no less then twelve(12) hours, followed by psychological screening and, if needed, up to three(3) months of scheduled weekly mental therapy.
Description: SCP-4xxx is an anomalous 1990's "Larami Super Soaker 110 Xtra Power" water gun. In physical composition and appearance, SCP-4xxx is non anomalous in nature. It's anomalous properties manifest only when liquid leaves the front-facing barrel of SCP-4xxx. Any liquid fired from SCP-4xxx smells strongly of ammonia, and on physical contact will fill any subject with an overwhelming infatuation with creatures scientifically classified as felines. Affected subjects will seek to interact with a feline creature, regardless of any physical harm that may result. If the subject fails to interact with a feline for a period of up to twelve(12) hours, the subject will return to normal. If physical contact is met with a feline, subject will begin experiencing mental deterioration, the speed of which depends on the number of felines interacted with. From here on, subject is classified as SCP-4xxx-1. Instances of SCP-4xxx-1 will continue experiencing mental deterioration until they lose all physical and mental faculties. SCP-4xxx-1 instances will then be coated in a self-generating substance consisting of otherwise non anomalous hair fibers. Testing shows these fibers to belong to whatever species of feline had last interacted with the SCP-4xxx-1 instance before paralysis. After a gestation period of four(4) to six(6) hours, the "hair cocoon" will burst, revealing a feline creature resembling an infant domestic short hair. After another two(2) days, SCP-4xxx-1 instances will become a fully grown feline creature featuring the combined characteristics of all felines that had interacted with the SCP-4xxx-1 instance before its gestation period. From here on, SCP-4xxx-1 instances will behave as if they were an ordinary domestic house cat. Aside from the unnatural characteristics of some SCP-4xxx-1 instances, all testing has shown that instances are completely non anomalous in nature. If an SCP-4xxx-1 instance sees or otherwise perceives a creature scientifically classified as a canine, the instance will attempt to kill the canine(s), regardless of any physical harm that may result. Canines will attempt to flee if they perceive an instance of SCP-4xxx-1, and will only fight back if cornered.
