Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5185 must be kept in a closed and sealed environment at least 12 meters cubed. Should any subject enter the area, they must be doing so alone, without any form of a direct line of sight from any other living being. SCP-5185 must remain in an environment set to exactly 19 degrees centigrade. Any deviation from this temperature should result in the containment cell being immediately locked down. SCP-5185 is not alive, and as such does not need nourishment of any kind.

Description:
SCP-5185 appears as a small black locked box about 50 X 25 X 15 cm. The box unlocks regularly 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from sunrise to sunset. if the box is opened when unlocked, the contents are revealed to be different for everybody who observes it. Most often, the contents are tokens from one’s childhood and photographs of loved ones or the recently departed.

Upon seeing the contents of the container, the subject will have a strong sense of nostalgia and have an urge to hold the objects within SCP-5185

. Immediately upon contact with the objects in the box, the items will transform into tokens from their worst deeds, and the subject will immediately feel an unfathomable sense of guilt and begin to regret every bad deed they had ever committed in their lifetime. 73% of victims will attempt to commit suicide as a punishment for their actions.

This response is most common with [DATA EXPUNGED]. If the subject survives their encounter with the object, they will seem to have experienced a drastic personality change. They will be either unwilling or [REDACTED] performing bad deeds or disobeying any of their superiors for any reason.

SCP-5185-1 (object class Safe) appears to be a small silver key that was found with SCP-5185. The key fits in a keyhole found on SCP-5185 and unlocks the box outside of the previously detailed hours. If the box is opened after having been unlocked with this key, the contents will have vanished and been replaced by a very viscous purple liquid. Upon contact with the liquid, subjects will slowly have their bodies transformed into this liquid.
