Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid (indicate which class)

Special Containment Procedures: [Examples of SCP-XXXX are to be housed between panes of reinforced glass. At least 50 cm of space should separate the panes in order to encourage a healthy colony, with more room allowing for a larger number of specimens. The space between the panes should be filled with the sediment endemic to the colony's discovery location. Small holes to allow for airflow should be present in the panes at intervals, and observation areas below the containment's "ground level" should be illuminated with blue spectrum light.
In order to perpetuate the colony D Class subjects equal in number to the specimens should be made available each year in order to receive and incubate larval specimens. Larval specimens are to be injected sub-dermally near the spinal column. Subjects must not be aware that the injection has occurred, and should be kept in relative comfort during the incubation process. They should be allowed to sleep as much as they want.
Potential uncontained colonies of SCP-XXXX are located through the evidence continuously gathered by program Noonday (see addendum 1). Located colonies are to be exterminated except for a breeding pair of subjects which may be removed to a containment cell as detailed above. Members of the local populace are to be examined for infestation. Individuals found to be incubating specimens are to be removed to a nearby site and exposed to sleep deprivation measures. This causes the specimen to die inside the individual at which point it can be surgically removed. If the individual survives this surgery they are to be treated with amnestics and released.
If individuals do not respond to the deprivation measures and continue to fall asleep they are to be terminated and incinerated.
