Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX can be kept in any room as long as it is kept on a table and has nothing plugged into it with the exception of when it is being spoken to or tested. When SCP-XXXX is not in use, there must not be any CD inside of it.
SCP-XXXX is not to have stereos or any type of music player plugged into it except headphones. If earbuds or headphones are not plugged in and stereos are plugged in instead, SCP-XXXX will emit a loud noise causing deafness or hearing incapabilities to the listener(s).

Description: SCP-XXXX is a D-EJ011 Walkman and has clear marks and scratches on it from wear and use.¹ When a CD is put into it, the voice of the main singer will be used to speak to the listener. If the listener says "Sing me a song, please?" in whatever language the voice is using SCP-XXXX will play the music on the CD and act as a regular walkman would.
SCP-XXXX was found by the ████ Family in Winchester, Virginia (05/24/03); It was contained in 05/29/03. Subject has not been recorded to have caused any death to its listeners but can cause hearing disorders and problems to its listeners when it is turned on with a stereo or music projector plugged in.²
In order to communicate with SCP-XXXX, a CD must be inserted and the play button must be pressed. The amount of time SCP-XXXX can talk varies depending on the length of the first song of the inserted CD.³ When the song ends SCP-XXXX will stop communicating and turn off.

Foreword:
[Due to issues with recording SCP-XXXX, this interview was written by Dr. Fawkes while he was talking to the Subject. A Breaking Benjamin CD was inserted and SCP used the voice of Benjamin Burnley to communicate.]

<Began Interview @ [4:21pm]>

Dr. Fawkes: Good evening, SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX: Quotes around "good".

Dr. Fawkes: You appear to be in a bad mood.

SCP-XXXX: Some idiots came and tried to play a blank CD. A blank CD! How am I supposed to play a blank CD?

Dr. Fawkes: Could you still communicate with them while the CD was inserted?

SCP-XXXX: Well, I tried but I don't think anything I said got through their thick skulls.

Dr. Fawkes: Ah, I see. Would you mind if we inserted a blank CD later as a test?

SCP-XXXX: Sure, just don't expect much.

Dr. Fawkes: Is there anything else that happened recently other than the individuals that were bothering you?

SCP-XXXX: I mean, I can't really hear much when I don't have the…whatever they are plugged in.

Dr. Fawkes: You mean the headphones I'm wearing?

SCP-XXXX: Yeah, those I guess.

Dr. Fawkes: You can't hear anything at all when the headphones aren't plugged in?

SCP-XXXX: Nope, nothing at all. I just go to sleep anyways so it doesn't really matter.

Dr. Fawkes: So you must sleep a lot.

SCP-XXXX: I guess so.

Dr. Fawkes: Can you tell the time like this?

SCP-XXXX: ██ man, is it after twelve?

Dr. Fawkes: It is. How could you tell?

SCP-XXXX: You said "Good Evening".

Dr. Fawkes: Mhm, very observational of you. Can you tell the full time?

SCP-XXXX: Nope, not at all.

Dr. Fawkes: I see.

[silence]

SCP-XXXX: Is there anything else you want to know?

Dr. Fawkes: No, not currently. We are almost out of time.

SCP-XXXX: Again? Last time we had a lot more time.⁴

Dr. Fawkes: Well, it is shorter than the last time. I will talk to you later.

SCP-XXXX: See ya, man.

Dr. Fawkes: Goodbye.

Closing Statement:
[SCP-XXXX doesn't appear to show signs of acknowledging time, nor does it show signs of knowing the time limit of the songs. The personnel who tampered with SCP-XXXX without permission are still unknown.]

+ Test Results

Test 01 (Done 01/██/██)
Procedure: Plug in a stereo to SCP-XXXX and try to play music or talk to it.
Results: Subject D-█████, Dr. Jamison Alexander and various other personnel were permanently deafened and can no longer hear.

Test 03 (Done 03/██/██)
Procedure: Insert a homemade CD with only a speaking voice into SPC-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX talks with the same voice of the speaker on the CD.

Test 04 (Done 03/██/██)
Procedure: Insert a homemade CD with only a speaking voice into SPC-XXXX and then have the person who had made the CD talk to SPC-XXXX.
Results: SPC-XXXX does not seem to acknowledge the fact of the speaker sharing the same voice as it; It expresses confusion when asked about the phenomenon.

Test 05 (Done 04/██/██)
Procedure: Insert a blank CD into SCP-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX can talk when a blank CD is inserted but cannot be heard by listeners.

Test 09 (Done 11/██/██)
Procedure: Insert a CD with instrumental music into SCP-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX cannot talk when a CD with no vocals or lyrics is inserted. Subject shows signs of anger when a CD like this is played as it feels like it is "being gagged" or "held like a prisoner".

Test 10 (Done 02/██/██)
Procedure: Insert a CD with only screamo vocals into SCP-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX talks normally when CD is inserted and does not yell or scream.

+ Test-XXXX-A Transcript

Foreword:
[Subject D-█████ was put in a room with SCP-XXXX along with multiple personnel on guard.]

<Test Began @ [2:07pm]>

Dr. Alexander: D-█████, I want you to insert that CD into SCP-XXXX.

D-█████: You mean this one? [holding up CD]

Dr. Alexander: Yes.

D-█████: Okay, now what?

Dr. Alexander: Please plug the speaker next to SCP-XXXX into its audio jack.

D-█████: Uh-huh….That's the green hole, right?

Dr. Alexander: Indeed.

D-█████: Well, I did it.

Dr. Alexander: Please locate the play button on SCP-XXXX and press it.

[D-█████ presses the button on SCP-XXXX and an immediate, defeaning noise is heard throughout the room]

D-█████: Oh ████, Oh ████!

[personnel in the room yell, telling D-█████ to turn SCP-XXXX off, but the noise quickly comes to an abrupt stop seconds later]

[the rest of the audio log is silent]

Closing Statement:
[All personnel involved in Test-XXXX-A had quickly contacted medical personnel and were found to have gone deaf from SCP-XXXX's sound. Raechal █████, who had written the transcript, had also appeared to have gone deaf simply from hearing the noise from the audio log.]

1. It is to be noted that SCP-XXXX has never been known to acknowledge the fact it is not human.

2. This effect does not apply when there are headphones or earbuds plugged in instead.

3. ex. if the song is three minutes long SCP-XXXX will only be able to talk for three minutes.
