Item #: SCP-4064
Object Class: Safe
SCP-4064 in mid invisibility state, over a high contrast background.
Special Containment Procedures: Each instance of SCP-4064 shall be kept in separate containment Chambers measuring 4 (four) meters height, and 4 (four) meters width, the environment having common plants from their habitat. They shall also be fed 5 crickets a day.
Description: SCP-4064 is a group of frogs from the Centrolenidae family discovered in 1984, in the Amazonian Forest of █████, ████, Brazil. It is shown to have anomalous properties such as almost complete invisibility when found in danger and manipulate photons in other ways in a 90 centimeter range from its skin.
First anomalies were found in the ██████ park walking track, when a tourist tried multiple times to photography insects in a tree, and in all of the attempts, the pictures were distorted in some area. Cases like that happened other 4 times, reported by people who visited the ██████ park. After that, the establishment was closed and the SCP Foundation mobilized itself to search and find the object responsible for those occurrences. The Foundation located successfully all the 53 instances of SCP-4064.
SCP-4064, when visible, varies its look between species of the Centrolenidae family, and sometimes, not recognized species. Independently of what species it appears to be at the moment, SCP-4064 can spit a venom capable of turning the victim almost invisible for approximately 5 minutes.
Each instance of SCP-4064 is referred as SCP-4064-01, SCP-4064-02, from 1 to 53, as identified in their containment chambers.
Addendum 1: SCP-4064-21 escaped the containment.
Addendum 2: SCP-4064-21 spit venom onto a pedestrian's eye 2 (two) kilometers away from containment. The victim suffered the main effect and several damage to vision, as result images are distorted. It was brought to the lab for examination, but the distortion could not be explained. SCP-4064-21 could not be found.
Addendum 3: SCP-4064-21 was successfully found and contained again.
