Item #: SCP-XXXX
Anomaly Level: Euclid (Safe) Neutralized
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment, and should be monitored 24/7 with two heavily armed agents stationed near its containment. SCP-XXXX is to be treated carefully and respectfully and all loud noises or aggressive actions are prohibited if SCP-XXXX is nearby. SCP-XXXX is to have standard weekly therapy and to have the equivalent of 5000-7500 calories a day. If the Specimen gets aggressive or anxious all authorized personnel are to 'comfort' the Specimen.
SCP-XXXX is allowed a monthly visit to its wife and daughter, under the supervision of the Foundation. SCP-XXXX is allowed to have mourning prayers (See Addendum.)
In a worst case scenario, all Foundation personnel are allowed to terminate SCP-XXXX, but it should be noted that it may be difficult to do so with its military training and unique anomalous abilities.
Containment of SCP-XXXX is no longer required.
Description: SCP-XXXX, also known as Lieutenant Arthur Larsen, is an anomalous human appearing to be of Caucasian and Algonquin descent and appears late 30s to early 40s. Approximately 6'3 in height and weighing around 232 pounds. The specimen has medium length hair regularly kept in a ponytail or bun, it also contains several tattoos of Algonquin origins. The specimen holds a similar psychological profile of the average male American and a veteran but also suffers from PTSD and Psychosis (See Addendum.) Despite the mental disorders the Specimen suffers from, it is generally friendly and has several lasting friendship with site personnel, mostly with Foundation Guards - it is recommended that such friendships should be maintained, despite Foundation policy. SCP-XXXX appears to be religious, yet this could be a tradition from its Algonquin heritage. The Specimen has both a wife and daughter, its wife is Doctor Amelia Larsen, one of the Foundation's top researchers, their daughter is Sophitia Larsen (she shows no sign of anomalous abilities, yet).
SCP-XXXX was a United States Navy SEAL and part of the CIA before the Foundation contained it. The Foundation first noted the existence of SCP-XXXX during operation-██████ which saw SCP-████ used as in a live test, approved by O5 Command. This operation was covered up as a failed American Raid and all soldiers were thought to be dead. SCP-XXXX was later found out to be alive from the event, and would later get an honourable discharge and a medal of honour. Several Foundation Task Forces were sent to terminate SCP-XXXX which failed and saw several agents killed in action, with video feed showing its anomalous abilities. After the incident, SCP-XXXX fell off the grid.
The Foundation was able to secure and contain SCP-XXXX after it made contact with Doctor Amelia Larsen. SCP-XXXX did not resist containment and complied with every order given to it. During containment of the Specimen, we were able to determine the nature of the anomalous abilities to a degree. SCP-XXXX posses the strength to bend steel, and lift weights comparable to M26 Pershing Tank, well beyond human capability. SCP-XXXX shows a high degree all forms of damage resistance, as seen upon Foundation Agent's attempts to terminate the Specimen, it was able to survive a point blank .50 Calibur shot from a 50 BMG Rifle, although fire seems to be effective against the Specimen. Most peculiarly are SCP-XXXX's regenerative ability, with it being able to grow missing limbs within a matter of weeks.
SCP-XXXX holds some form of telepathy, this appears to be a subconscious condition, as SCP-XXXX is unable to control it, to a degree. Researchers and staff describe the feeling of apathy or sorrow whenever they near SCP-XXXX and claim to hear its cries and screams along with distant gunfire and deaf yelling. As a side effect of the metal disorders SCP-XXXX suffers from, its telepathic 'screams' are able to cause brain trauma and mental disorders, and on one case, even cause a researcher to become brain dead. The Foundation has since allowed for SCP-XXXX to have therapy sessions to treat the mental disorders (see addendum.)
Another peculiar anomaly SCP-XXXX is its ability to manipulate all Earthly elements (fire, water, air, ground etc) and to a much lesser extent cosmic elements (spacial, time, reality). On several occasions, SCP-XXXX has lashed out due to its mental disorders causing several fires, water leaks/flooding, and on race occasions earthquakes. SCP-XXXX has proven to be able to manipulate late local spatial areas, as it once caused a researcher to run in circles for its own amusement due to being heavily drunk (note: it is no longer permitted to have drinks. And who the hell allowed it to have drinks!), it has also shown its ability to form solid objects from thin air, such as beer (note: SCP-XXXX is to be monitored for any case of it smuggling, or creating, ANY alcoholic beverages, and any alcoholic beverages are to be confiscated). Its ability to manipulate time is merely a hypothesis, as several researchers and staff claimed they documented something or thought they forgot something, and commonly within the vicinity of SCP-XXXX. The degree of these anomalous abilities is unknown and is advised to have further testing done.
Upon researching the origins of these anomalous abilities the Foundation has found its source of the anomaly. A metaphysical or spiritual parasitic entity, officially dubbed SCP-XXXX A, seems to give Specimen its anomalous abilities. Due to it's attachment to the host, it can be deduced that it seeks to protect its host, this could be the origins of the anomalous abilities. Further testing shows that if SCP-XXXX is in pain the SCP-XXXX A will also be in pain, giving credence to the theory. Although other researchers disagree, saying that it is merely a side effect of the parasitic entity, as it seems to not care about the mental health of SCP-XXXX. Further research and testing are required.
[Note: The rest of the interviews have mysteriously gone mission from our records. Efforts to find them are proceeding.]
[Additional Note: As per the request of Doctor Amelia Larsen, we shall no longer continue our efforts to locate the missing interviews.]
<Interview #1>
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ████ Williams
Foreword: This was the first of the interviews. The Specimen made no requests.
<Begin Log>
Doc. Williams: SCP-XXXX, name Lieutenant Arthur Larsen. Born and raised within Grand Portage Indian Reservation. Served three tours in Iraq, and four tours in Afghanistan. Given the medal of honour for your service. You seem to be very prestigious. How does that make you feel?
SCP-XXXX: You certainly know a lot about me. So, what is this….organization of yours?
Doc. Williams: Answer our questions and we will answer yous…mostly.
SCP-XXXX:** It makes me feel…empty. I don't know how to explain the feeling anything but empty, or numb. It's….it's uh, just odd you know. I've fought with men and women who are far more deserving of the medal, but… it's me…why me?
Doc. Williams: Thank you for answering. Now to answer your question. We are the SCP Foundation: Secure. Contain. Protect.
SCP-XXXX: The Foundation, I see…so the rumours were true.
Doc. Williams: I beg your pardon?
SCP-XXXX: I am guessing it doesn't say that I was CIA does it? Of course, it wouldn't, very few people outside of the CIA would know that.
Doc. Williams: [Looking through notes] Let's see…uh, odd. It doesn't mention anything about that. So how much do you know about the Foundation?
SCP-XXXX: I wasn't that high up on command, so I was on a strict need to know basis, but rumours of a 'Foundation' are a talk amongst the higher-ups. All I know is that the CIA is…cautious and concerned with the Foundation.
Doc. Williams: Interesting. So, tell me, how did you become CIA?
SCP-XXXX: I was assigned to a covert mission, this mission was with several CIA agents and some soldiers on a long list of potential CIA agents. I happened to sign up to become a CIA agent before I was shipped off to Iraq. I digress. The mission was a success and one of the agents put in a good word for me.
Doc. Williams: Thank you for an answer. Do you have any questions for me?
SCP-XXXX: Why am I here?
Doc. Williams: Because you are an unknown, an anomaly, a potential threat to the world.
SCP-XXXX: A potential threat to the world! [Specimen slams its fists on the table.] ME! I willingly enlisted in the SEALs! I willingly charged headfirst into gunfire to cover my men! I fight against the Taliban and other terrorist groups to protect both the people back home and to protect the people of the nation I am fighting in! To free them from radical groups who would kill them because they simply disagree with one small thing! I've…I've marched into hell…into the flashing [SCP-XXXX goes silent.] I left everything on that battlefield.
Doc. Williams: [Massaging his temples due to a massive headache.] Yeah, and I thank you for your services and sacrifices soldier, but the Foundation does what it needs to do for the greater good. [Doc. Williams stands up from his chair] I'm sorry we are going to have to continue this conversation next time.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Doctor ████ Williams was escorted out of Specimen's containment Cell. Several medical doctors examined him and found nothing wrong with him, but he was given a day's leave.
<Interview #1█>
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ████ Williams
Foreword: SCP-XXXX for two bottles of beer and a pack of cigarettes. Approved.
<Begin Log>
Doc. Williams: Mr Larsen, how goes containment?
SCP-XXXX: [Lighting cigarette.] I am pretty sure you would know the answer to that. [Offers cigarette.]
Doc. Williams: [Accepts offer. Specimen lights cigarette with a flick of its wrist.] Impressive, able to manipulate fire?
SCP-XXXX: Appears so. [Specimen opens a bottle of beer. Pushes the other bottle forward.] So what is this interview about?
Doc. Williams: Just going over the basics. [Opens the bottle of beer.] It is good to understand the psyche of the specimen before we move on.
SCP-XXXX: I don't like the fucking sound of that.
Doc. Williams: Alright. Tell me about your time in war.
SCP-XXXX: [Specimen seems to ignore the question by drinking its beer.] You shouldn't ask a soldier that, most are trying to escape its horrors.
Doc. Williams: It's just standard procedure. We can skip the question if it causes discomfort.
SCP-XXXX: No…no, its fine. [Long pause.] I…I, uh. [Specimen smokes its cigarette.] Fuck. There was this…one incident that happens during my tour in Afghanistan. We were in a small village, just patrolling, and uh…I and a few of the guys were down an alleyway when loud gunfire was sounding off behind us. [Specimen takes a brief moment to pause.] We got into what little cover we had and returned fire. I, I could see two of them on the roofs, one of them armed with an RPG. I shouted 'RPG!' as the man fired at us. I crouched and covered myself in a corner as the explosion went off about a metre away from me. I…I wasn't harmed….because, because, uh, one of the men jumped on the on the rocket because it was delayed. I…I forget his name, but, uh….he saved us all that day. [Specimen takes a moment of silence.] I can hear them…the screams of the fallen.
Doc. Williams: Thank you. [The Doctor stands up and holds his forehead.] I…uh. We'll continue another time.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Doctor ████ Williams reported to the medical office and got painkillers. SCP-XXXX remained still for three hours mouthing various words. Several doctors describe this as the 'thousand-yard stare,' something most veterans of war experience.
<Interview #█3>
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ████ Williams
Foreword: Specimen requested a pack of cigarettes. Approved.
<Begin Log>
Doc. Williams: Good mourning Mr Larsen.
SCP-XXXX: Good mourning to you too, Doc. [Specimen proceeds to light the cigarette.]
Doc. Williams: Alright let us get these-.
SCP-XXXX:* Tell me Doc, have you ever had to kill someone?
Doc. Williams:** Can't say I have.
SCP-XXXX: Thoughts so. You know….it's an odd feeling of….emptiness. Like, one moment you have your gun aimed at the guy and you pull the trigger, and his heads just….explodes, or he just gasps as he falls to the ground. It's a quick death….usually.
Doc. Williams: Why are you telling me this?
SCP-XXXX: Because I have a request. Should I die in this 'containment', and I most likely will, I would like to be buried at Grand Portage Indian Reservation.
Doc. Williams: I shall go to the higher-ups with the request. Now on to the questions. When-
SCP-XXXX: Doc….can I tell you something?
Doc. Williams: Of course.
SCP-XXXX: You asked me about my time in war, and I can tell you it's not hell. Hell is coming back from it…I remember this one time when I came back one of my tours, my daughter came running up to me, and my first instinct was to draw my weapon and fire….but luckily I didn't. You see the thing is….that people say war is hell but….the aftermath, the broken souls, who come from war enter hell. [SCP-XXXX proceeds to place a Beretta 92 in between the two.]
Doc. Williams: Arthur…Arthur what are you doing?
SCP-XXXX: [Specimen picks up Beretta.] I've always thought of ending it you know…I can die and the voices finally go silent. The last of the squad, finally dead.
Doc. Williams: Arthur, you still have a wife and daughter, don't do this.
SCP-XXXX: Since when did the Foundation grow a heart! [Specimen slams its fist on the table and points the gun at Doc. Williams.] I don't get to see my daughter or my wife! And whenever I request I'm always denied! [Specimen proceeds to place the barrel of the gun at his temple.] Well I am willing to end it all here! You can tell my wife and daughter, I love them! Because in my last act of freedom, I die with it!
Doc. Williams: Arthur Larsen! Please stop [Doctor ████ Williams falls to his knees holding his head.] Arthur….! Stop [Doctor ████ Williams falls on his back as his muscles begin spasms.]
SCP-XXXX: Shit! Shit! [SCP-XXXX drops the gun and rushes to Williams. It makes an open space and safe space Willams and places him on his side under some clothes and pillows.] First Aid! Medic! Anybody!
[Several Foundation agents rush in pointing their guns at him, all before falling down and having seizures.]
SCP-XXXX: Shit! Fuck! Shits! [SCP-XXXX proceeds to march around the room.] Calm down Arthur, calm down, panicking….no, no, no I can't do that! I, I have to save them! [SCP-XXXX takes a few deep breaths as before searching some of the agents and finding a radio.] Uh….all Foundation personnel we have….a containment breach with SCP-XXXX. I repeat we have a containment breach with SCP-XXXX. All personnel report to cell block ██.
[After several moments more foundation agents rush in and grab and contained SCP-XXXX, well several others aid the agents affected.]
<End Log>
Closing Statement: No one was causalities reported and all agents had a full recovery. The Foundation concluded that SCP-XXXX had some form of telekinesis and was unstable, due to this it was assigned a therapist.
<Interview #█4>
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ████ Williams
Foreword: SCP-XXXX requested flask of whiskey. Requested declined.
<Begin Log>
Doc. Williams: I think I will skip the questioning today, and ask if you are alright.
SCP-XXXX: No…I'm not. Personally…I just want to go home and just be with my family.
Doc. Williams: I know, but you know the Foundation's policy.
SCP-XXXX: Yes I know…and after what I did, I'm kinda glad I am here.
Doc. Williams: Well, if its any comfort to you, you've been granted permission to see your daughter once a month, should you choose - under Foundation supervision of course.
SCP-XXXX: Well, that's good. Thank you…what's the date today?
Doc. Williams: September 14th.
SCP-XXXX: My daughter's soccer game is coming up in today's, is it okay to go there?
Doc. Williams: Yes, but you have three or four Foundation agents with you.
SCP-XXXX: Thank you.
Doc. Williams: So, tell what's on your mind? You…clear have something going on.
SCP-XXXX: That….that gun I had was a dud…
Doc. Williams: Yes, I was informed. What of it?
SCP-XXXX: I…I don't want to die. I just want to…live my life normally, without any of this…crazy shit.
Doc. Williams: Well, we here at the Foundation seek the safety of both the anomalous and non-anomalous.
SCP-XXXX: What…What if you can't contain the entity? What if they are too dangerous?
Doc. Williams: The Foundation would terminate them….but we hope not to do such actions.
SCP-XXXX: Yes, I can see that…You know after some contemplation I come to terms with this…containment I am in. I am a threat to…the world. And after what happened I can't…I can't think of what could happen if…if Sophitia was here.
Doc. Williams: Arthur, it alright. We are trying to find out if perhaps we can rid you of these anomalous abilities. Someday you will see your daughter, without the Foundation looking over you.
SCP-XXXX: That is an optimistic thought, but a naive one. We both know I am staying here until I die.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: No incident was reported after this. SCP-XXXX was granted to see its daughter, with three foundation agents escorting the specimen disguised as civilians.
<Interview #1██>
Interviewer: Doctor ████ Williams
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Foreword: With the discovery of SCP-XXXX A the Foundation tried to removed it from SCP-XXXX resulted in both entities experiencing extreme amounts of pain and seizures. Request: A Smudge and Wendy's Baconator combo. Granted
<Log Begin>
Doc. Williams: So, Arthur, tell me how are you feeling?
SCP-XXXX: [Groans] Like…I just got hit by a rocket-propelled brick.
Doc. Williams: You what that feels like?
SCP-XXXX: Yeah…after you guys fired one at me!
Doc. Williams: Yes, I forgot about that.
SCP-XXXX: So….parasitic entity?
Doc. Williams: Yes, from what we can tell, we are doing further researching.
SCP-XXXX: My old grandpa used to tell me of an old story. When the spirits walked with us. He said that a few humans were able to bond with the spirits, the Manitou. For example, one of our oldest stories, the story of Nanabozho, he had a companion, a wolf spirit named…I can't quite remember, but in English and Anishinaabe we refer to him as 'uncle'. He was said to protect Nanabozho, and in turn, Nanabozho protected him.
Doc. Williams: So you think this…entity is a protector? A guardian?
SCP-XXXX: My mother always said that I was being watched over. But I could be wrong.
Doc Williams: Interesting, we may have to investigate a few of the traditional stories of you Indigenous people.
SCP-XXXX: How's the wife and kids?
Doc. Williams: The wife is fine, she's found a few interesting things about SCP-████, and Joseph is doing fine. Funny thing we recently moved to Chicago, so Joseph now goes to the same school as Sophitia.
SCP-XXXX: [Laughter] No way. Well, look at that.
Doc. Williams: Yeah, uh, she came over to my house today. Quite a lovely girl, bright future ahead of her.
SCP-XXXX: Yeah, I hope she is doing her homework. Did you catch the game last night? Who won?
Doc. Williams: The Blackhawks won.
SCP-XXXX: Man, if I and the boys were at a bar and saw the match, we would and erupted and probably caused a bar fight.
Doc. Williams: Yeah, I can believe that.
SCP-XXXX: Yeah….okay um…I think you have…yeah, I…I don't know but.
Doc. Williams: Its the Psychosis. Alright, well we both know I have to leave now, but report to the therapist, you got it.
SCP-XXXX: Yeah, I will.
Addendum; Mourning Prayers:
SCP-XXXX is allowed to have mourning prayers off of facility premise. Foundation Agents are to escort the Specimen into an open field of grass or within a forest where it will be given a pouch of tobacco that it will hold in its left hand and say a prayer on Ojibwe (an Algonquin language) and dig a small hole and place the tobacco within the hole.
If it asks for the agents to join in on the prayer, they are to politely and respectfully decline or accept. If in the unlikely event the agent speaks Ojibwe they are to say a prayer in the said language, if they don't they can take a moment of silence as prayer.
Addendum; Mental Disorders:
SCP-XXXX suffers from PTSD and Psychosis, this was caused by operation-██████, which saw the Foundation approval to test the anomalous abilities of SCP-████. The mental disorders have caused negative side effects to SCP-XXXX and others around it, as it projects its pain and trauma via its telepathy and appears to be unable to control it. The effects of its telepathy vary from minor headaches to causing seizures, and on one cause caused a researcher to become brain dead.
Due to various reasons, along with ethical concerns, the Foundation has approved that SCP-XXXX is able to get therapy to help treat its disorders.
The therapy appears to have helped in the treatment of SCP-XXXX, as more and more Foundation Staff describe a feeling of peace yet longing whenever they near the Specimen. Further therapy is ongoing.
Addendum; Doctor Amelia Larsen:
Doctor Amelia Larsen (age 36), one of the Foundation's top researchers into the anomalous, is the wife of SCP-XXXX. Unknown to SCP-XXXX, Doctor Amelia Larsen was the one who contacted Foundation about SCP-XXXX, although she has gone on record of wishing she never did.
It appears that Doctor Amelia Larsen does have affection and care for SCP-XXXX but she has made no attempts to break SCP-XXXX containment. Despite that Doctor Amelia Larsen makes weekly visits to SCP-XXXX where the two often talk about various topics, ranging from the Foundation itself to the mundane things, such as their family.
Doctor Amelia Larsen is allowed to meet SCP-XXXX without the supervision of the Foundation and is permitted to continue until further notice.
Addendum; Sophitia Larsen:
Sophitia Larsen (age 13) is a female civilian and appears to hold no anomalous abilities, although the Foundation is keeping tabs on her. Her current Location is Chicago, Illinois, living with her mother. She has no knowledge of the Foundation and only knows that her mother is a 'Professor', but does know that her father is a Navy SEAL.
SCP-XXXX is permitted to see its daughter with a small escort of Foundation Agents disguised as veterans. The relationship between the two is optimal despite the current state.
Sophitia Larsen should be closely monitored to make sure the anomalous abilities of SCP-XXXX is not hereditary.
Addendum; SCP-XXXX A:
SCP-XXXX A is a metaphysical or spiritual entity of a parasitic nature. As to what the origins of SCP-XXXX A are unknown, but SCP-XXXX claims it is a 'Manitou', or spirit, and acts as a guardian for SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX cannot be seen by the human eye or by cameras. The only evidence of SCP-XXXX is the faint golden glow that circles SCP-XXXX whenever it sustains damage, and can sometimes be seen in mirrors whenever SCP-XXXX is using its abilities, often appearing as a Wolf or Eagle. Efforts to remove SCP-XXXX A from SCP-XXXX has caused severe pain for both entities in question, and would likely result in the death of SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX claimed that it heard the 'Manitou' call out to it when it was confronted SCP-████. Further testing is required.
During a containment breach at site-████, several SCPs broke containment. SCP-XXXX was among them. Instead of seeking freedom SCP-XXXX assisted Foundation forces to contain the breach caused by several dozen Chaos Insurgency Agents. Lieutenant Arthur Larsen gave its life valiantly in the face of overwhelming numbers, buying time for Foundation reinforcements to arrive. Lieutenant Larsen was found dead with numerous amounts of ammunition rounds and burns, and a lit cigarette.
As per Lieutenant Larsen's request, the specimen was buried at Grand Portage Indian Reservation. Doctor Amelia Larsen and her daughter, Sophitia Larsen, were notified of Lieutenant Larsen. Compensation was given to the family and Amelia was permitted two weeks leave to mourn.
Although not part of Foundation policy, a small monument was erected in Lieutenant Larsen's containment cell.
If I may go off the record and say that Lieutenant Larsen was a kind soul and a brave one too. He made many friendships at site-███ and will be sorely missed.
