Obviously they won't be beside each other in the classifications but titling them X1 and X2 was the easiest way to classify them in my mind. I had the idea for X2 first, but the overall concept I'm developing here is that X2 was discovered by the Foundation after X1, which is why X1 is classified earlier than X2. Their entries will also be written better and developed more in time, these are just my first draft ideas. This is by no means a final draft or product, or a representation of either. This is simply an unformatted post of my concepts.
X1 is an instance of The Impossible Quiz that was discovered on a 2002 Emac in ████████, South Carolina in 2007. Unlike the original internet game, this instance poses questions of extreme difficulty on a variety of subjects, from thermodynamics problems to incredibly specific mathematics and biology questions that most experts in their fields cannot answer alone, much less a person of average intelligence. This quality on it's own is not dangerously anomalous, however any individual who thinks they are of above average intelligence and wants to prove this belief to be true will be subconsciously compelled to seek out SCP-XXX1 if they know of its existence or are within 20 meters of it. Those who begin answering SCP-XXX1's questions will be unable to stop themselves from attempting to finish the quiz and have no intent of stopping, ignoring any outside stimuli or needs including sleep, hunger, etc. and will continue until they die. The computer itself continues to run despite being disconnected from the internet and from any power source, deconstructed, and rebuilt. Despite dismantling being possible, the computer cannot be destroyed. Anyone with the intent to damage the computer or any substance/material that would cause damage to it will become unable to make contact with the computer and will phase through it. It is impossible to access anything on the computer except the quiz, and outside attempts to recover data have resulted in any form of technology making contact with the computer duplicating the quiz and functioning in the exact same way as the original. The only difference between these duplicates and the original is that they can be destroyed. SCP-XXX1 is classified as Safe. Containment procedures will include the computer being stored in a locked containment room that can only be accessed by personnel with Level 3 Clearance or higher.
X2 is an individual that was arrested in ████, Missouri for several counts of identity theft, but was released from custody as the charges could not be proven. Their stated identity changes with each new problem it is presented with. They will always change their name and say they are an expert in the field of the problem they are solving, and when given a lie detector test after identity changes they never fail the test. They seem to forget previous identities as soon as they cease to use them. When asked about past names and aliases, SCP-XXX2 states that they don't know anyone by that name and that they've always been who they are now. SCP-XXX2 is classified as Euclid. Containment procedures include giving SCP-XXX2 permission to travel freely throughout Site-17 and must always be accompanied by a Site Researcher with Level 3 Clearance or higher and must be provided with a new problem to solve or question to answer at all times. A Site Researcher must follow them and record their answers at all times because SCP-XXX2 will not answer a question that someone else knows the answer to, and will not answer an unsolvable problem unless it can explain the answer to someone who will understand. It will also refuse to answer any questions about its origins and claim that it knows nothing about where it came from. DNA testing concludes that it is not human and is of an unknown species, completely unrelated to any known species including other SCP entities. Despite this, it seems to be around 34 years of age and continues to age at the same rate as humans. If left alone or not given a problem to solve, SCP-XXX2 will make an attempt to find a problem worthy of its intelligence outside of Site-17. Attempts to prevent it from leaving without providing it a new query have never succeeded.
When SCP-XXX2 was introduced to SCP-XXX1, the Site-17 staff believed they had found a solution to containing both entities, as X1 kept X2 occupied for several months without incident. However, one day X2 completed X1's quiz which resulted in X1's computer displaying a congratulations screen for 5 minutes, and then ceasing all functionality. All attempts to turn it back on have resulted in failure. After finishing X1, X2 left Site-17 once again and had to be recontained. New attempts to keep X2 contained consisted of complicated philosophical questions, which worked until one researcher asked X2 if an afterlife existed, which X2 responded to by taking a nearby security guard's firearm and terminating the researcher. It then dropped the firearm and returned to searching for questions to answer. Attempts to destroy X2 were made, including asking it to destroy itself which it refused to do, and none were successful. As intense philosophical questions were the only ones that initiated different responses from X2, more attempts to neutralize consisted of similar questions, resulting in ██ more researcher deaths.
SCP-XXX2 was finally neutralized on ██/██/2011 when it was presented with the question of "what is the purpose of our existence if we are so small and our lives are such a short period of time compared to the vastness and age of the universe we live in?" X2 gave no verbal response, navigating its way to the nearest security officer, taking their firearm, and terminating itself. Previous attempts at termination by firearms were attempted and all resulted in failure, being unable to harm SCP-XXX2 in any capacity. Why X2 succeeded in self-termination is still unknown.
Feedback is greatly appriciated as these are my first SCP concepts ever! Thanks!!
