Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: It seems to be no effective way to contain SCP-XXXX. Even if put in a cage of any material, the entity will simply teleport away to an unknown location. Every attempt to use anhestetics on it have failed, too, since it can supposedly perceive the hostile intention, and become intangible or teleport away. So, for reason of force majeur, every interaction between SCP-XXXX and the Foundation researchers always happens under its conditions. These meetings take usually place in informal places (like the locations dedicated to the free time of the staff in some sites). Recently we managed to reach an agreement with the entity, so that almost every interview and research is now conducted in a cell located in site ██.

Description: SCP-XXXX looks like a Caucasian male, approximately between age 20 and 25, with no apparent differences from a normal human being. It's pretty fluent in English, with a bit of Italian accent. The entity is 1,74 metres tall and weighs 70 kg. At every appearance so far, it always weared the same distintive clothing, to which it refers as its “brand”; the most prominent articles of which are a white blouse with a black gilet on it, a bowler hat and a pair of mirrored, circular sunglasses (that SCP-XXXX usually keeps even inside the facility, but take away in low-light situations, revealing brown eyes); it also always carry around a walking stick of about 93 cm, with a silvery eagle head at the top.

SCP-XXXX possesses various abilities comparable to “psychic powers” addressed in several works of fiction (he himself proclaims to be an “esper”). The entity seems to have no problem talking openly about almost all of his abilities, and tries to help the staff to figure out their extensions. During many tests conducted with the subject approval, it was stated that he can perform the following actions:

  • Lift and move around inanimate objects telekinetically (experiments were made with items of maximum 60 kg, but the subject states he could lift even more. Requests for further tests with heavier objects are on pending approval).
  • Levitate at least 5 metres off the ground (this seems to be an extension of his telekinetic capacity, just applied on himself; SCP-XXXX claims he could be able to bring in air with him other persons, too. Use of D-Class personnel for these kind of tests is being considered).
  • Teleport (from various meters to the other side of the Earth, information confirmed by the data of a GPS placed on him; SCP-XXXX states that longer the distance is, more he has to concentrate, resulting, in the second case referred, in a mental fatigue comparable to “an entire marathon fullfilled in a second by the brain”, in his words).
  • Communicate telepathically with persons in his visual range, or that he cannot see but of which knows even approximately the position.

Note of Dr. █████, date 16-08-201█:
Some situations happened during interviews, such as SCP-XXXX seemingly having access to information he didn’t possess before, or the impossibility to lie to him without him knowning, seems to suggest that the entity can not only communicate telepathically, but actually read the mind of the persons he comes in contact, having access to both conscious and unconscious memory. Ways to prevent this possibility are being researched. I'd prefer to continue conducting the interviews myself, but for any other interaction betweeen SCP-XXXX and the staff, I suggest utilizing only personnel with access to secrets of moderate entity about the Foundation. Even if it could be problematic choose who put in through with SCP-XXXX, basing on his capacities and unpredictability. This was confirmed by the recent leaks of which the subject has been responsible.

  • Make himself and his clothes (along with objects he carries with him, like the stick) intangible, so that every person or object clashing against his body in this state will simply go through it, like it was a sort of hologram. Geolocation devices placed on him during the test tilted, in a similar way to other dimensional anomales previously studied. Observers who take a very close look of SCP-XXXX body during this state tend to see him as only slightly "out of phase"; asked more in detail about what they meant, some of them said it was like if he was "there and not" at the same time.

Note of Dr. █████, date 16-08-201█:
This capacity seems to be one of the few of which the subject is cryptic talking about. My theory is it has something to do with the source of his abilities, even if I'm not sure about how. I suggest trying to insist more about this particular point.

Addendum 1: Subject Discovery
The Foundation came in contact with SCP-XXXX in date ██-██-201█, in █████. Researchers were sent to the location after many reports from local population alleged paranormal activities in the area, such as flying objects, whispering voices in the head when no-one was around and a strange-looking guy who appeared and disappeared in front of several persons. When the staff in charge arrived, the entity showed up almost immediatly to them, introducing himself in a jovial and friendly manner. SCP-XXXX said his name was “Russell”, but it’s probably just an alias because he also added “You can call me that way”. Since this first meeting, he seemed to know a lot of things about the Foundation, even if in a fragmentary way in regard to various topics: he was apparently looking for us, but later he stated that at first he wasn’t completely sure where to exactly find our agents, and for this reason he had to “give life to a little show” able to get our attention. After the presentation the entity expressed curiosity about a lot of SCPs we’re containing, and especially he asked to meet or at least see SCP-187, SCP-105, SCP-166, SCP-030, SCP-239, SCP-343, SCP-096 and even SCP-2███, proving knowledge about this last that only 05 Council should have.
Meeting after meeting, it became clear SCP-XXXX also knew many things about various members of the Foundation personnel (like Dr. Clef, Dr. Bright and Dr. ████████), and several incidents happened in the past (such as 239-B). How many of these information were already in possession of SCP-XXXX and how many were recovered through his capacities it’s unknown.

Dr. █████: I’m very glad you finally agreed to an interview in a professional manner, Russell. It would sure be a great improvement for both us and you if we try to carry out all this in a-

SCP-XXXX: (Interrupting Dr. █████) OK, sorry to interrupt, Doc, but just a first thing I want to clarify: I DON’T think I could be able to destroy SCP-682.

Dr. █████: (Showing confusion): Ehr… What?

SCP-XXXX: Just what I said. I mean, I’m pretty good, but I think a giant healing lizard that could or not be nephew of the ███████ ████ and that if killed would probably [DATA EXPUNGED]… You know, it seems pretty a task.

Dr. █████: (After clearing his throath): Well… Overlooking the rest, I… Don’t think we even considered this possibility, actually.

SCP-XXXX: Is that so? Well, I suppose it is… Yeah, I’m sure now. Just wanted to make a statement, anyway. If not for you, someone will surely get it.

Dr. █████: All right, we started in a odd way. But I think now we could talk about you, and in particular the origin of your-

SCP-XXXX: When could I meet SCP-187, or SCP-105, or SCP-166? I like them, I think it would be nice.

Dr. █████: …Or maybe not. Look, Russell, you seem to know many things about us. You should know it’s not something we can easily accomplish.

SCP-XXXX: Yeah, I know. You guys manage a lot of problematic situations. Frankly, I’m even surprised by the fact that the world is not ended yet. Oh, WAIT… Remember now.

Dr. █████: What?

SCP-XXXX: Nevermind… Just an uncomfortable thought. Well, if not for me, at least for this humanity.

Dr. █████: Are you stating you’re not… Human?

SCP-XXXX: Oh, no, I’m definitely human. In a certain sense, anyway. As I said during our previous informal chat, I’m an esper.

Dr. █████: We saw a little about your capacities. We’re planning to do some tests, if you don’t mind.

SCP-XXXX: Oh, I’d LOVE to! Surely will be a lot of fun for all of us.

Dr. █████: I hope so.

SCP-XXXX: Well, that’s not exactly true.

Dr. █████: What are you referring to?

SCP-█████: You said you, too, hope it will be fun. But the only thing you hope is it will help to clarify who or what I am. Obviously it’s normal for a scientist, even more if from the Foundation, but I think there’s nothing bad taking it a little easy and having some fun once in a while… Try to follow the example of Dr. Bright!

Dr. █████: I see. I’ll try to consider it. I think for today we began to establish enough our collaboration, so for this first time we could end here.

SCP-XXXX: No problem with this, Doc, I’m always available. You’ll have documents to redact, reports to do, experiments to conduct, I don’t want to hold you. That thing with SCP-███ seems pretty a mess.

Dr. █████: Hm… See you next time.

Note: The interview took time ██ days after the beginning of first tests on SCP-XXXX.

Dr. █████: Nice to see you again, Russell. I hope you did well from last time we saw.

SCP-XXXX: Yeah, hanging around here and there. I visitated sites ██ and ██, they seems good. Clean, operational… Actually, I was hoping for site-17, but I think I’ll wait an official invitation for that. Don’t want to be rude, you know.

Dr. █████: Yes, I heard about your… Exploits. To be honest, though, even the other visits weren’t, if we can say so… Allowed, am I right?

SCP-XXXX: That’s a way of seeing it. I like to think of myself as a cosmopolitan, a “citizen of the world”… Even if this could sound a little reductive. So, why shouldn’t I go where I want when I want?

Dr. █████: Hm… Let’s pass over, for the moment. I was wondering, why site-17, specifically?

SCP-XXXX: Well, just because there are contained some of the people I’d like meet. Not all of course, but it could be nice to start at least with 105, or 166. Just for beginners.

Dr. █████: Yeah, I remember the, we may say, list you made since from the first time. I will be frank here, Russell: professionally, I don’t think it would be suitable. 166, for example, should surely be avoided.

SCP-XXXX: Referring to THAT, uh? Yeah, I'm not sure how it would work, there could actually be the possibility that the effect of Li-… 166 might be troublesome… I'm still a man after all. But who knows, maybe I’d manage it. I have some tricks up my sleeve…

Dr. █████: At the Foundation we don’t like to take useless risks if they can be avoided and are of no particular use, you should know it.

SCP-XXXX: Indeed. Too bad. But future is not set in stone, after all. Or this is how I see it. Here more than anywhere else.

Dr. █████: You’re saying, if we don’t allow it ourselves, you could do it without permission?

SCP-XXXX: Hey, I’m not a bad guy, Doc! Don’t want to break your precious rules. I’ll just orient to something else for now. What do you think of 343?

Dr. █████: I’m not authorized to discuss openly. I just can say it is being debated.

SCP-XXXX: I can figure that. I think it could be pretty intriguing… I wonder if I would be able to see across her cover…

Dr. █████: What are you talking about?

SCP-XXXX: Don't you know…? Oh, I see.

Dr. █████: Would you mind to share?

SCP-XXXX: Hm… The fact is, I want to be sure myself first. You know, some things are often unclear, you have to face yourself. Here is the best way to find out.

Dr. █████: I see…

SCP-█████: Do you?

Dr. █████: …Very well. I think we had a good talk today.

SCP-XXXX: Don’t you REALLY think that, as usual, you didn’t actually find anything new about me or my abilities?

Dr. █████: …See you soon, Russell.

Dr. █████: Here we are, SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX: Doc! Long time no see. Since last time you-

Dr. █████: I didn’t appreciate it. And neither the Council.

SCP-XXXX: Hey, c’mon! It was just a little prank. I’m sure you contained it pretty well. You know, memory rearrangement and stuff… After all, it’s not like I endangered lives or something.

Dr. █████: Here at the Foundation, information are everything. There are reasons why we have security levels, classes, classified datas. Not everyone can know everything.

SCP-XXXX: Why not?

Dr. █████: Information can provoke panic. There are things people aren’t ready to know. And maybe never will.

SCP-XXXX: I always hated that cliche in films.

Dr. █████: Do you think it’s untrue?

SCP-XXXX: I can just say that I like to know.

Dr. █████: And it seems you like to let know, too.

SCP-XXXX: Sometimes. If it can be fun.

Dr. █████: Not about yourself, though.

SCP-XXXX: Hey, that’s rude to say!

Dr. █████: I don’t think I said anything rude.

SCP-XXXX: Not in words… But it was pretty intense anyway.

Dr. █████: So it’s like I suspected.

SCP-XXXX: Not that I actually DID hide it…

Dr. █████: And I’m sure you can be very scrupulous. So… Why don’t tell me THIS?

SCP-█████: Why tho?

Dr. █████: Why not?

SCP-XXXX: What would be a story, without a bit of mistery…?

Dr. █████: This is not a joke nor a story. I don’t believe in THAT THING, no matter what THEY could think.

SCP-XXXX: Are you sure about that?

Dr. █████: I don’t have reasons not to be.

SCP-XXXX: Do you think Dr. ████ really is the devil? I mean, it works, but what about SCP-████ then? That body…

Dr. █████: What the…?

SCP-XXXX: Just wanted to change argument. I was a little bored. It's funny to check the reactions. So, when can I meet SCP-187, or 105, or 030, or the others?

Dr. █████: Trust me when I say I’d love to let you know 096.

SCP-XXXX: Oh, I trust. And I would be curious, too.

Dr. █████: Anyway, maybe there are good news for you. We’re getting into something.

SCP-XXXX: Her, uh?

Dr. █████: Yeah. I knew you would have known.

SCP-XXXX: I knew you would have known I’ve had known.

Dr. █████:

SCP-XXXX: Jokes aside, I'm glad and interested. Even I don’t know what she could see. So it will be surely something.

Dr. █████: We’ll see.

SCP-XXXX: Just, don’t think I will be satisfied. It's just the beginning after all, in a way or another.

Dr. █████: I’ll refer. Goodbye… Russell.

SCP-XXXX: See you around, Dr. █████!

Addendum 2: Encounter with SCP-187

Date of Test: 28-08-201█

After repeated requests by SCP–XXXX to meet several SCPs (see Addendum 1), it was decided to at least give a try with SCP-187, since her previous experiences in other similar contacts and the possibility, through her abilities, to help to clarify the nature of the entity. The two were left alone while monitorated for almost three quarters of an hour. They chatted about various arguments in a relaxed and friendly mood, often talking about themselves, even if SCP–XXXX seemed to avoid being too personal about himself. The subject tried to comfort SCP-187 in various ways about her situation, and sometimes expressed attitudes of flirting, even if in a polite and not too explicit manner. After the conclusion of the meeting, while interrogated, SCP-187 seemed relieved than before, addressing SCP–XXXX as “a cute and nice guy with always the right words to cheer" her and that she liked to meet him. Asked about his appearance, SCP-187 provided a description no different from the known one, but she added that there was something “off”, like if SCP-XXXX was a very little bit “blurry”; just as something you could note only if pretty close, though. This description matches with how the subject usually looks when in his “incorporeal” state, but during the conversation no expression of said capacity was manifested or at least recorded.
