Ground-level view of SCP-XXXX's track
Item #: SCP-4421
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Due to SCP-4421's track being located in a highly populated suburban area, and the track being within view of passing pedestrians, 3-meter tall chain-link fences covered by privacy screens are erected along the perimeter of the site, with "Private Property - No Trespassing" signs posted on each fence. CCTV cameras covering the outside of the campus' main building, as well as the outsides of the portable classrooms adjacent to it are set up to be used to monitor the site from a remote location. Trespassers found on the property are to be handed over to the Livonia Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, or any other appropriate jurisdiction for prosecution. Foundation personnel implanted in the local school district are to dismiss the site of SCP-4421's track as a local high school closed due to being outdated by nearby ███████████ High School, and explain heightened security in and around the campus as a precautionary method against gang activity.
Description: SCP-4421 is a Caucasian male looking to be of high-school age (around fifteen). It's outfit, though varying, typically matches one similar to that of a school physical education uniform, sporting a white t-shirt with a mascot on it and black athletic shorts with the same mascot on the lower-left leg. When left alone, SCP-4421 maintains a constant walking-speed motion around the quarter-mile track of the abandoned ████████████ ███████ High School in Livonia, MI. It does not seemingly need to eat, drink, or rest, despite often spending consecutive weeks of walking the school's track, though it does consume anything offered to it by people it interacts with.
When a person approaches SCP-4421, the object will initiate conversation with them, continuing to walk the track, now with the person who had approached. The object is, when in conversation, fairly sociable, often starting it's dialogue with small-talk like the weather or a recent sporting event, and has a casual knowledge of almost anything brought up by the person walking with it, including classified information.1 When asked about itself, SCP-4421 claims to be a student at the high school. However, it acknowledges the state of the campus, calling the closure of the school a "damn shame". Despite this, it demonstrates a lack of knowledge as to why it is there, or how it is able to survive without sustenance.
If requested to, SCP-4421 will follow the individual it was interacting with off it's track, going anywhere it is directed to. However, if not told to stay there, it will disappear from where it is left, and be spotted on CCTV back on it's track in a matter of minutes. This has occurred on every occasion it has left the track, whether it be on the other side of campus, or in an interview room at Site-158, about 40 kilometers from the property.
SCP-4421 was discovered on it's track by a group of teenagers who had trespassed on the property in the late evening of 5/29/2019 and had seen it's silhouette from within the school building. Fearing that SCP-4421 was a guard, the group had quickly ran from the campus, attracting the attention of a nearby police patrol. After a short search of the campus, SCP-4421 and the teenagers were arrested for trespassing and put into separate squad cars. When the car that contained SCP-4421 had arrived at the police station, it was found that it had demanifested from the back seat, sparking a small investigation into the matter. It was found back at it's track four days later, and the matter was brought to the Foundation's attention by a local informant.
