Item #: SCP-5152

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All co-operative individuals exposed to SCP-5152 within the previous 2 hours are to be exposed to class-A amnestic, followed by a class-B amnestic and elimination testing via the exposure protocol detailed below. Co-operative Individuals exposed to SCP-5152 within a time-frame greater than 2 hours but less than 72 hours are to be exposed to a class-c amnestic. Co-operative individuals exposed to SCP-5152 72 hours or more are to be detained and assessed as per class E protocol and, upon completion of the assessment, either terminated or contained and classified as a new instance of SCP-5152.

Approved instances of SCP-5152 are to be isolated in modified [1] Standard Communal Humanoid Habitation Center as long as they remain co-operative. Any unexplained talks, documents, or other behavior is to be recorded for later questioning by class-D personal while remotely monitored for contamination. Any evidence of escape, spread, or other dangerous behavior attributable to SCP-5152 shall result in the termination of the previously approved SCP-5152 instance, unless that shall result in less than 2 approved instances. In the event that the number of approved instances of SCP-5152 falls below 5, or any communal planning behavior attributable to SCP-5152 occurs, all approved instances are to be moved to individual Humanoid Habitation Rooms, and all communications between them severed until, either the number of approved instances exceeds 5, or 1 full month, as appropriate. Where possible, approved instances of SCP-5152 are not to be moved to a center or cell that has previously contained an approved instance of SCP-5152. Any personal entering SCP-5152's containment outside of testing are to do so for a period of time not more than 2 hours, are not to engage in any form of communication with SCP-5152 and are to be issued a class-A amnestic upon leaving.

Before any experimentation with SCP-5152 takes place, addendum 1 and 1A must be read aloud to all involved researchers and test personal.

Exposure protocol: In the event of suspected SCP-5152 containment breach, the following procedure is to be completed. Set up must be done outside of the suspected individual's awareness. When completing exposure protocol, no less than 2 additional security personal must be able to rapidly respond to secure the suspected individual if necessary. To complete exposure protocol, you must provide the suspected individual a method of attack that seems to be easily fatal, but is in fact harmless, and then appear to lower your guard. Examples include a firearm that is unloaded, or loaded with dud or blank rounds, a trick knife, or access panel to a fatal area that has been disabled. [2]If the suspected individual attempts the seemingly fatal action, they are to be treated as an instance of SPC-5152, and if outside of containment area, containment is to be considered breached. Be alert, instances of SCP-5152 aware of this protocol will likely take other hostile action as soon as they realize they have been tricked, and may choose to take advantage of your false moment of weakness to attack using methods other than the one provided.

Description: SCP-5152 is an cognitohazard that varies in specific reasoning and details but results in 2 significant behaviors. The first is a compulsive urge to eliminate any individuals not also effected by SCP-5152, using any means available. This manifests in a variety of ways, but tends towards behaviors that result in short term plans with immediate effects, for example, sudden movement with a blade when poisoning is available. This is only a trend however, not a rule; and as such, any individuals exposed to SCP-5152 instances are to be on guard for any and all forms of attack, escape, or other dangerous behavior.

In the event that the instance of SCP-5152 is able to resist that urge, or simply unable to act upon it in any meaningful way, they will attempt to explain themselves. This explanation will vary, and will rarely make any kind of logical sense, but is true form of SCP-5152. Whoever has the reasoning behind their actions explained to them will find the logic intriguing, and will find themselves compelled to ask some questions about the reasoning. The questions seem to allow SCP-5152 to tailor the conversation to better interest the target, and draw them deeper into the conversation.
Depending on the subject, the conversation will last a few seconds to several minutes (The longest recorded conversion was 22 minutes) the recipient will in every case find the reasoning incredibly compelling, and will become a new instance of SCP-5152.

The explanation requires 2-way conversation, and thus cannot be written down or stored in any way. The explanation itself varies in form and is seemingly irrelevant to the efficiency of SCP-5152 conversion, though it may guide their immediate actions. Any individuals witnessing the conversation but not participating in the conversation (for example, personal monitoring cameras) will not be converted into an SCP-5152 instance.

Addendum 1: It is noted that it is apparently possible to nearly indefinitely resist both of these urges, as evidenced by SCP-5152-36, who has been compliant with all foundation procedures and personal. Whether this is due to his intense willpower or previous training as level 2 MID personal is unclear. No other individual have come close to achieving SCP-5152-36's record of resistance, and the longest and other affected individual has resisted their murderous and conversive urges was SCP-5152-53, with a survival time of 43 days. While this remains true, SCP-5152-36 is the recommended test subject for any experiments to be done on SCP-5152.

Addendum 1A: SCP-5152-36 took advantage of diminished security alertness to complete conversion on the local security assigned to SCP-5152 containment, and in the process, influenced their actions. 2 were terminated 3 secured after being caught attempting to approach the [REDACTED{Omega Warhead}], in the process terminating 6 other facility personal. SCP-5152-36 attempted to alert off-site personal to his actions approximately 77 minutes after conversion, though due to his intelligence, it is unclear if this was done due to remorse or similar reasons, or because he determined the plot had failed. All personal are reminded that SCP-5152-36 is to be considered just as dangerous as any other instance of SCP-5152, if not more so.

[1]: All cells and rooms intended to contain SCP-5152 are to contain sufficient camera coverage, monitored by no less than 1 individual per 8 cameras, and gas dispersion systems supplied with sufficient supplies to render all occupants +50% unconscious, subject to a class-A amnestic, or dead. Additionally, all perimeter entryways to areas meant to contain SCP-5152 are only to capable of being opened by a minimum of 2 individuals, at least one of which must be off-site.

[2]For armed personal, the easiest way to complete this is to unload and/or disable your firearm, and then feign strap/holster failure. Ask the suspected individual to "hold [the firearm] for a moment", and then turn to re-attach or re secure the sling/holster/accessory.
