Subjects who were in a vicinity of 6 meters or less to SCP-4690, regardless of obstructions, are subject to mind manipulation. SCP-4690 will appear as a voice in the subject’s mind, taking the form of a lost loved one or significant figure to the subject. SCP-4690 will use egregious methods of convention to persuade its victims into doing its will. SCP-4690’s motivations are still unknown at this time.
Discovery: SCP-4690 was first discovered in the abandoned furniture store ████. During the store’s years of operation, multiple homicides and suicides occurred. The store was forced to close its doors in ██/█/198█. After the store’s closure, multiple reports of a mysterious object inside led the SCP foundation to investigate. The SCP Foundation found the store’s contents in the nearby parking lot, leaving the inside of the store empty except for one single chair, which was then classified as SCP-4690. Shortly after, extraction Team █████ failed to remove SCP-4690 [Incident ███]. The situation then required the services of task force MTF Gamma-5 to properly remove and transport SCP-4690 to Research Facility 3.
Addendum Testing Logs:
Test Phase: Research Observations
Date: ██/█/200█
Location: Testing Chamber 1, Research Facility 3
Test Description: Researchers Ben D████, and Phil M█████, were observing SCP-4690 and recording their findings when Ben reported that Phil was acting unusual. Ben recorded that SCP-4690 was having an effect on Phil. Phil stopped reporting observations at that time. Ben claimed that Phil was completely focused on SCP-4690. Shortly after, Phil muttered the words, “Sandra is right Ben…” (Sandra D████, Deceased wife of Phil D████). Phil attempted to open the chamber and retrieve SCP-4690. Ben ordered guards to terminate Phil before he could open the door.
Results: Initial observations conclude that SCP-4690 has a radius of effect within 10m. SCP-4690’s effects on humans still mostly unknown.
Proceed to subject testing.
