Lonely

An empty vastness north and south
I have yet to hear another mouth

Steaming food, but no such cook
I leave my thoughts within this book

A bitter silence within my ears
Missing the people I hold quite dear

A simple touch all I require
A fellow man, my one desire

Not a single breath, a single moan
That artifact's curse, I wish I'd known

My loyalty tested and my old life taken
I must keep moving and stand unshaken
