SCP-3284 mid-attack.

Item #: SCP-3284

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3284 is to be kept within a double-padlocked steel container 4x4x4 feet in size at all times, located in the center of a 20x20x20 foot room protected and guarded by MTF unit Lime-1 “Shaders”. MTF unit Lime-1 “Shaders” is to be comprised of 4 personnel specially trained in the use of remotely controlled devices and robots (used for the recontainment of SCP-3284). Any new instances of SCP-3284-1 are to be administered an anesthetic and knocked unconscious immediately. Any approaching of SCP-3284 must be done by an authorized personnel equipped with a device capable of immediately knocking them unconscious by remote input. Any instances of SCP-3284-1 are to be contained in Site ██ in a medically induced permanent comatose state in ███████. In the event the current SCP-3284-1 becomes conscious, lockdown of SCP-3284’s containment chamber must occur and all personnel must vacate a safe distance from any direct path between SCP-3284 and SCP-3284-1, and immediate attempts to return SCP-3284-1 to a comatose state must be made. Upon failure of these attempts, SCP-3284-1 is to be terminated immediately via memetic kill agent, and if a breach has occured, SCP-3284 is to be remotely recontained by MTF unit Lime-1.

Description: SCP-3284 appears to be a standard 28 inch tall United States traffic cone composed of plastic. Upon any conscious human entering within three (3) feet of the entity, SCP-3284 will begin to radiate with an intense light fluctuating between X and X lumens, peaking in the infrared part of the spectrum. The emitted light is strong enough to permanently blind any nearby subjects after only half a second of exposure. At this point, SCP-3284’s target subject becomes an instance of SCP-3284-1. After precisely 4.323, seconds, the object will fly through the air towards SCP-3284-1, mounting itself on top of the head of its target and completely destroying its head within two seconds. After completing this process, SCP-3284 will stop glowing and fall to the ground, leaving the headless SCP-3284-1 behind. While moving towards its target, SCP-3284 does not appear to be slowed down by any obstacles and will disintegrate anything in its path. If the SCP-3284-1 somehow loses consciousness or dies before SCP-3284 finishes its glowing period, SCP-3284 will immediately stop glowing and will not attack its target, allowing SCP-3284-1 to be safely removed from a distance and properly contained. Any non-human living organism approaching SCP-3284 has not resulted in any response, suggesting the entity only attacks human subjects.

SCP-3284 has proven to be invulnerable to any physical damage and always remains in a slightly scratched state, despite efforts to crush, incinerate and dissolve the anomaly. The interior of SCP-3284 has been observed to be completely empty until provoked, upon which the inside of the cone will appear to be filled with an extremely hot plasma-like substance that incinerates anything that touches it.

Addendum 3284-A: Recovery of the Object
SCP-3284 appeared submerged 1 foot into the snow to the side of a road leading to Site ██ on February 2, 1999. No caution was taken until the cone was observed attacking Dr. Jean Gonzalez while driving to the site. CCTV footage shows SCP-3284 breaking through the back windshield of Dr. Gonzalez’s vehicle and incinerating his head, causing the vehicle to crash into the concrete wall of a building to the side of the road. Attempts to retrieve SCP-3284 resulted in three minor casualties before the object was safely removed from the wreckage via helicopter and contained at Site ██.
