Item #: SCP-5212

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5212 is to be contained within a cubic tungsten container, in cell 5212-B of Foundation Site 23. This container of 4 cubic meters, to account for the anomaly's volume, should be constructed of 4 inch thick, pure tungsten, with careful attention to the existence of any punctures or holes in the metal plates. If any so holes exist, they are to be filled in and repaired with extra tungsten sheets before being used to contain SCP-5212.

For observation purposes, all foundation personnel within the chamber housing SCP-5212 should, under no circumstances, come into contact with the anomaly, instead remaining behind the guard rails surrounding the tank. All observation of SCP-5212 should be from a safe location behind these rails, less an accident occur where personnel fall into the chamber.

Any observation of SCP-5212 while being introduced to any objects should be preformed behind a foot thick glass window, to avoid excess liquid being splashed onto any persons in the cell. Due to this same reasoning, a protective paneling of tungsten should be placed along the walls of the cell.

Every 600 hours, or 25 days, SCP-5212 should be separated into 4 separate barrels of iron. The now partially degraded tungsten containment chamber should be separated and removed from SCP-5212s cell. A new chamber should then be reassembled inside of the cell, and a leak test preformed to ensure there are no punctures in the welded corners of the tank. This process must occur within 10 hours, before SCP-5212 is able to dissolve the iron barrels. The anomaly should then be carefully and precisely poured back into the fresh tank, and the barrels should be vacuumed out and drained of any SCP-5212 residue.

Description: SCP-5212 is a liquid substance, pale green and translucent in color, and appears to have a similar viscosity to mercury. This liquid has the anomalous property of rapidly breaking down organic matter, including ███████████. SCP-5212 will fully disintegrate a 30 year old male human to the skeletal structure in 130 to 170 seconds, and a 30 year old female in 110 to 150 depending on the mass of the specimen. These tests can be found in Appendix 5212-B-3

The recovery of SCP-5212 occurred near ██████████, North Carolina, in the southern Great Dismal Swamp. Numerous calls to the local police force regarded a "large, bubbling pool" that had disintegrated something or someone at a rapid rate. This caught the attention of foundation personnel located at nearby Site 23, on site. Upon arrival, retrieval team Quebec 8-V (headed by Agent ███████ ███████) cleared the area of bystanders, including one ████ █ ███████, obtained SCP-5212, and chemically isolated it from any other materials. See Appendix 5212-A-1. Upon arrival at Site 23, SCP-5212 was placed in a hastily created tub to be held until a permanent chamber could be constructed. The construction of this chamber was oversaw by Dr. ████████ █████, and one ████ █ ██████, possessing an engineering PhD from the University of ███████.
