Special Containment Procedures: SCP-AAAA-1 is to be kept within a locked refrigerated container in Site-103. The container must utilize a retinal scan to verify the presence of personnel with Level 3 clearance and above.
In the event that SCP-AAAA-2 consumes SCP-AAAA-1, two designated agents from MTF Theta-4 ("Gardeners") must report to Site-23, where they will be directed to the containment facility for SCP-████ and retrieve SCP-AAAA-1. (Operation “SuperDrive”). MTF agents must undergo Class A amnestic treatment following their retrieval of SCP-AAAA-1 but prior to exiting Site-23. If SCP-AAAA-1 is in a state conducive to germination, Special Council AAAA (“Early Bird”) must be notified. All relevant personnel should await further instructions from “Early Bird” before taking action. The identity of SCP-████ as it relates to SCP-AAAA is known exclusively to the designated members of Site-23, Special Council ████, and O5 Command.
If SCP-AAAA-2 is sighted independently of SCP-AAAA-1’s status, O5 Command must be notified and MTF Eta-5 ("Jäeger Bombers") is to be dispatched as soon as possible.
Germination of SCP-AAAA-1 must never be induced without O5 approval.
Description:
SCP-AAAA consists of two parts: SCP-AAAA-1 and SCP-AAAA-2.
SCP-AAAA-1 is an organic item resembling an apple of the “honeycrisp” variety. It is 85.2 grams and has a genetic makeup is typical of Malus domestica fruit. If a part of SCP-AAAA-1 is destroyed, consumed, or otherwise removed from the remainder of the fruit, the item will regenerate at a rate of 1 sq. cm per 20.7 minutes. There is a single seed in one of SCP-AAAA-1's five seed chambers. All attempts to destroy this seed have failed. If the remainder of SCP-AAAA-1 is discarded, SCP-AAAA-1 will regenerate around the seed via rapid cell mitosis. If SCP-AAAA-1 is unobtainable or missing, another instance of SCP-AAAA-1 will reappear in the SCP-████'s containment facility within a day after losing the item. All new instances of SCP-AAAA-1 have the same genetic composition and anomalous properties as the original.
If a human subject consumes any part of SCP-AAAA-1, a female voice becomes audible to the subject exclusively. The voice, which refers to itself as “Aranakoth,” encourages the subject to grow SCP-AAAA-1 into a tree. The subject may converse with “Aranakoth” for approximately half an hour, at which point it can no longer be heard. Additional information that it has provided can be found in Interview AAAA-D and Interview AAAA-E.
SCP-AAAA-1 was discovered upon spontaneous reappearance at Site-23 by agents assigned to the containment of SCP-████.
SCP-AAAA-2 during Containment Attempt AAAA-7
SCP-AAAA-2 is an intelligent wormlike organism of beige tone located on the North American continent, anywhere between 1 to 3 km below the Earth’s surface. It has a length of approximately 39 meters and a diameter of approximately 5 meters. The front 8 lengthwise meters of SCP-AAAA-2 consist of an inestimable number of flagella with indeterminate thickness. At the center of the flagella is a perpetually open mouth. Several rows of teeth are visible within the mouth’s circumference. Despite having no clear sensory appendages, SCP-AAAA-2 responds to visual and auditory stimuli.
Although most attempts to pierce its epidermal layer have failed, SCP-AAAA-2 has an aversion to and is visibly damaged by water. Exposure to water will tear SCP-AAAA-2's epidermal layer within approximately 30 seconds of continuous application. SCP-AAAA-2 has successfully consumed tungsten carbide-reinforced barricades within 10 seconds and leaves no observable trail when tunneling underground. When underground, SCP-AAAA-2 can tunnel at speeds approaching 1.1 km/sec; if airborne, SCP-AAAA-2 can manipulate its flagella to direct its travel, allowing the organism to fly at nearly 300 km/hr. SCP-AAAA-2 will consume anything in its direct path.
If SCP-AAAA-1 is within the Earth or (tangent to a structure that is itself tangent to the Earth) and sprouts, SCP-AAAA-2 will appear from underground within the vicinity of SCP-AAAA-1. As of ██/██/20██, SCP-AAAA-2 has appeared between within 5 minutes and 9.5 hours of SCP-AAAA-1’s visible germination. SCP-AAAA-2 will attempt to consume SCP-AAAA-1. If SCP-AAAA-2 is successful will immediately seek escape underground via the path of least resistance.
Addendum A: SCP-AAAA-2 appears to possess express knowledge of general plans of to capture and contain it, complicating the containment process. It has been hypothesized that SCP-AAAA-2 possesses telepathic abilities extending to an unknown range.
