Object Class: Euclid (Formerly classed Safe)

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4678 is to be kept in a 2ft by 2ft bulletproof glass container. Under no circumstances should anyone enter SCP-4678's cell with any form of writing utensil. This includes erasers; pens; pencils; stamps; ink; and so on.

Description: SCP-4678 is a book, seemingly being created during the Civil War period. It's outer cover is made of a leather-like material, with it's pages being made of regular paper. The book's contents varies between each reader. SCP-4678, once read, will narrate a person's entire life from a second person view. Going into extreme detail, it tells everything the reader saw, will see, how they felt and feel currently, how they will feel, etc. SCP-4678 will even narrate how the reader will react to reading the book, answer every question they've asked, and tell them how they will die. SCP-4678 can be opened with force, but SCP-4678 will appear blank to the reader.

[NOTE] Recent studies have shown SCP-4678 to have reality-altering capabilities. Currently awaiting permission to further test these capabilities.

Addendum: A Class-D subject, Jeremy Banchoviski, was instructed to view the book's contents. The following audio is a recording from Dr. Michael Grimm's test.

Subject: D-3441, Jeremy Banchoviski

Researcher: Junior Researcher, Dr. Michael Grimm

<Begin Log>

Dr. Michael Grimm: D-3441, would you please examine the item in front of you?

D-3441: My name is Jeremy, and it's a book…what's so special about it?

Dr. Michael Grimm: Would you please take the key given to you and open the book?

D-3441: Ignoring me, okay… [D-3441 proceeded to open SCP-4678, mumbleing to himself incoherently]. What the fuck is this?…a book about me?! How do you even know this?! [D-3441 proceeded to flip through the pages, showing clear signs of anger. He stopped at a page, his posture reverting to his previous posture]. She's alive…

Dr. Michael Grimm: Who is alive?

**D-3441:* Dear god…Christ in heaven, she's alive! [D-3441 proceeded to get up from his chair, falling to his knees and sobbing].

Dr. Michael Grimm: D-3441, please return to your seat.

[D-3441 complied, but refused to follow any other demands.]

<End Log>

Closing Statement: After the test, Jeremy began refusing any and all demands, constantly stating: "If she's alive then I've done nothing wrong!". Further studies showed that Jeremy's accusations of murder had been false, proving he was wrongly made into a Class-D. We are currently awaiting a re-trial for Jeremy. After the trial, Jeremy will be given Class-A amnestics. This is Dr. Michael Grimm, signing off.

Addendum Doctor Michael Grimm had requested permission to test what would happen if the text in SCP-4678 would change or alter the reality of the reader, and those around them.

Subject: D-4907, Oli Runnbrick

Researcher: Junior Researcher, Dr. Michael Grimm

<Begin Log>

D-4907: Doc, I've got one hell of a migraine, can't we get someone else?

** Dr. Michael Grimm:** Your headache will be treated once this test is over.

D-4907: Thank god… what is this anyway? A book? Or like some kind of weird magic sketchbook? What's with all the pencils and erasers?

Dr. Michael Grimm: Please open the book, and read the first few pages.

[D-4907 proceeded to open SCP-4678 and read the first few pages].

D-4907: Woah, freaky… how do you know this stuff?

Dr. Michael Grimm: Please find a page describing yourself, once done, do not read any further.

[D-4907 stopped at a page].

D-4907: Alright..found one. Kinda freaky, doc..it's got me down to a tee.

Dr. Michael Grimm: Please pick up a pencil and eraser and change the color of your hair to blonde on the page.

[The subject was clearly nervous].

D-4907: I'm not gonna like..die, right?

[The researcher took a moment.]

Dr. Michael Grimm: You will not die.

D-4907: Okay…

[The subject proceeded to edit the description of his hair color, from a dirty brown to blonde. No changes had been noted].

Dr. Michael Grimm: Did you edit the text like you were instructed?

D-4907: Oh, sorry..I could have sworn I did though?….

Dr. Michael Grimm: Please, change the description of your hair color from blonde to brown. Failure to comply will result in termination. We will not ask again.

[The subject proceeded to do so. No changes had been noted.]

D-4907: Wait, but I-

Dr. Michael Grimm: Subject's hair is still brown, test is a failure.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: After examining the tape, it has been concluded that the test was, in fact, a success. It appears as though those who read the altered text forgets what was altered, and only remembers the new text.
I will request permission to test this on more items, perhaps even other SCPs in the future. Have we found a way to rid the world of 096, or 682?..my god, if this does work.. uh- this is Doctor Michael Grimm, signing off for now.
