The Phantastic Orphanage
Description:
A three story red brick building, adorned with a large wooden sign above the front entryway that reads "Lovely Day Orphanage".
100 feet wide, 40 feet tall and 300 feet deep.
A large double pane bay window with a reading nook adorned with a cushion and pillows with dark red curtains hanging from either side, meeting in the middle to the left of the single red door with a smaller 3' x 3' four panel vertical sliding window also with dark red curtains hanging from either side, also meeting in the middle to the right of the aforementioned door.
The upper two stories both have the same 3' x 3' four panel vertical sliding windows on either side of the meridian of the building.
The only exception to this is the second story left window, in which hangs a window mounted air conditioning unit.
The interior of the building has not been observed by foundation personnel, this is due to an as of yet unknown anomalous property of SCP that causes anyone attempting to observe the interior from an external viewpoint to see only a heavily obscured and distorted backdrop, which anyone entering SCP fades behind upon entering.
Every Monday at exactly 0900 a white, passenger van with blacked out windows arrives and a number of children between the ages of 3 and 15 years old emerge. The smallest observed number being 1, the largest number being 30. The number of children does not affect the size of the transport, and a standard consumer vehicle of that size can seat a maximum of 12 individuals.
The children are then ushered in through the opened front door, the children themselves showing no signs of hesitation or anxiety regarding their situation. Once inside, the van then closes the door and drives off. Attempts to follow the van have failed, as it disappears at the first opportunity that it was not under direct human observation.
Every Wednesday, a banner appears that hangs down from the awning that reads "Welcome Parents!". This banner appears at the first opportunity where direct observation is broken. Exactly 1 hour after the banner appears 5 cars of varying makes and models arrive. The license plates are able to be tracked back to their registered owners, although the registered owners were observed to be nowhere near the area at the time.
The registered owners are by majority a heterosexual cisgender married couples in their late 20s to late 30s, middle to upper class, and psychologically stable with no criminal or psychological history who have applied to adopt a child after years of failing to have a child naturally.
The physical attributes and description of the subjects exiting the vehicles are a close, but never exact match to their counterparts. Once the subjects enter the building, a time period of no less than 3 hours and no more than 6 hours passes the subjects will one by one begin to exit with one or more but no more than three children. The children will be expressing emotions of elation and gratitude while walking back to the subjects cars.
Attempts to follow the subjects cars fails, the subjects cars disappearing in a similar method to the passenger van.
Any time between 1 and 3 months after the event, the counterparts to the subjects will find that they are pregnant with one or more children. The number of children always being the number of children the subjects left the orphanage with.
After a nominal gestation period the counterpart will give birth to the child, which will then grow at a normal rate and show all signs of being a normal child produced by two normal human parents. The child will continue to grow and not resemble the child that left the orphanage. DNA testing of a child resulting from an event shows that the child is genetically linked to the two parents, although with a 98.91% match. The other 1.09% not being linked to either the mother nor the father. There is currently no known connection to any other record on file.
