Instance of SCP-3831 before containment

Item #: SCP-3831
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3831 is to be kept in a reinforced glass cube, 9 cm thick, with access only granted to class-D personnel who are included in testing. The cube should be 60.96 cm^3, and checked for cracks or damages on a biweekly basis. Inside the cube should be fertilized soil, as well as tissue samples from the latest instance of SCP-3831-B.

SCP-3831-A is to be collected and stored in a locked container, with all means of opening the container given to authorities, unless consumed for testing.

Description: SCP-3831 is of the Rosaceae family, more specifically an unnamed Gallicanae. SCP-3831-A retains dark crimson shaded petals, with speckles of white and gray scattered across the surface of its verdant green leaves. Looks like a common red rose, infested with aphids. SCP-3831-A expresses anomylous properties when it blooms, approximately once every 2 months, or whenever a sentient being intakes its scent. When blooming, a metallic sphere (designated SCP-3831-B) with a diameter that varies from 2.5-3 cm is constructed in the center, rather than pollen. When SCP-3831-B is in line of sight of a sentient creature, it compells the viewer to consume it.

After consumption, the subject (now designated SCP-3831-C) has urges to intake large amounts of water, which would normally cause the subject's stomache cavity to burst, as well as certain foods containing specific nutrients, mainly those that would be gained recieved through a plants roots. After several hours (2-4) of retaining the required nutrients and water, a replica of the original flower, (now designated SCP-3831-D) begins to grow through the stomache cavity, and sprouts out the abdomen. The growth process is highly accelerated (1008-1016x), as it completes this stage in between 1-1.5 hours. By the time SCP-3831-D is fully grown, most to all nutrients and proteins have been absorbed from SCP-3831-C, causing a 100 percent fatality rate. After it's host expires, SCP-3831-D returns to its original state, in hibernation until it absorbs enough nutrients from soil to begin the process again, or until another subject intakes the roses scent.
