Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a medium or large storage container.
Background: SCP-XXXX was first discovered when a child started to suffer from constant auditory hallucinations. When a medical professional couldn't find a health concern, no action was taken. However, the family later sold the bed to an businessman, who's health and social abilities started to decline due to the anomalous effects of the object.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a bed comprised of a brass bed frame, a twin sized mattress, purple sheets, and two off-white pillows. The anomalous properties will manifest on any bed as long as one of these components is present, but will not work if used on something that would not be slept on. upon laying in the bed for 15 minutes, the person laying in the bed (henceforth: "subject") will hear a sound they would associate with waking up, i.e. an alarm clock. The sound varies from subject to subject. If the subject leaves the bed, the sound will cease, as if the alarm were turned off, but upon re-entering the bed, the effects will re-appear after the 15 minutes pass.
Addendum: Testing using D-class personnel has led to the discovery that if the subject does not associate any sound with an alarm, the subject's brain will attempt to create one, which it ultimately can't comprehend and will cause irreversible damage to the temporal lobe.
Addendum-2: Further testing has shown that animals will become extremely alarmed and aggressive when exposed to the effects of SCP-XXXX, but will not experience any damage to the brain. Requests to the 05 counsel for cross-testing with other SCPs has been denied, however, citing a general aggression of test subjects, both human and animal, and that it would be not only poor judgement, but a containment risk to do so.
Addendum-3 Following a containment breach, SCP-XXXX was used by D-class to block a doorway, damaging SCP-XXXX in the process. Restoration attempts so far have failed, rendering further research unlikely, and the item is awaiting reclassification as Neutralized.
