Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5078 is to be kept inside of a keycard-locked container at Site-76. Only those on the Research Team of SCP-5078 are to have possession of a keycard.
Description: SCP-5078 is a hardcover book measuring 15.24 cm x 22.86 cm. Its cover is plain white, as is its back. The page count of SCP-5078 is unknown, and reports from its Research Team indicate that its page count seems to change after contact with test subjects. The pages of SCP-5078 are completely blank.
When read, the reader convulses into a grotesque sitting position. The reader from this point onward is an instance of SCP-5078-2. SCP-5078-2 will read SCP-5078 intently, refusing drink, food, and sleep. As SCP-5078-2 reads, the blank pages fill with words written in red, presumed to be the blood of SCP-5078-2. After █-██ hours, SCP-5078-2 dies from blood loss. There are no internal or external injuries.
Research reports show that SCP-5078 cannot cause readers to be under its influence from recordings or live footage; the subject must be in contact with SCP-5078. If SCP-5078-2 is separated from SCP-5078 by force, SCP-5078-2 becomes hostile toward facility staff.
Before dying, SCP-5078-2 appears to fill in every page within SCP-5078. Despite tests confirming that different numbers of pages have been filled by different subjects, every test concludes with SCP-5078-2 perfectly filling every page.
Recovery Notes
SCP-5078 was discovered in in 19██ in the city of ███████, Kansas, after multiple reports of disappearances occurred within the span of two weeks. It was found within the home of ████ █████, who had already [REDACTED]. The recovery team suffered no casualties.
