SCP-5000, “The Marble Oracle”

The Marble Oracle

Item #: SCP-5000

Object Class: Euclid

Containment Procedures
SCP-5000 has clearance to be uncontained within the facility if escorted by at least three (3) Level 2 or higher security personnel. Otherwise it is to be kept in a 6m x 6m x 6m steel cube with a layer of soundproof glass at all times. Checks for cracks and holes every two (2) days are mandatory. At least two (2) Level 2 security personnel are required to be present.

Description
SCP-5000 is a female humanoid creature approximately 2m in height. Its skin appears to be made of marble. Attempts for blood tests failed, as the only blood-like substance appears to be made of liquid graphite. Skin is largely impenetrable with the exception of a specially made steel needle. Carbon dating of the subject’s blood shows that it is over two million years old. When it speaks, it speaks in three overlapping voices, and two figures identical to it appear on either side of it. The first figure, to SCP-5000’s right, speaks in past tense in any situation it is asked about. The middle figure speaks in present-tense, and the figure to the left speaks only in future-tense. For example, when asked about a certain event, the first voice said, “What happened,” the second, “What’s happening,” and the third, “What will happen.” This speech pattern only happens when speaking about events; otherwise, it speaks in the appropriate tense. SCP-5000 appears to be extremely intelligent and is granted the privilege of leaving its cell only because it has learned that it is rewarded when it notifies an SCP faculty member when it foresees a containment breach. It alerted one of its guards when it foresaw that SCP-096 had been seen and would soon attempt to break out of its holding cell. Because of this, personnel were able to find SCP-096 before it put other civilians at risk. However, when it makes predictions, it requires from the questioner what it called in an interview a “small bit of themselves.” Personnel learned this when after a Level 3 research faculty member was sent in at their request to interview SCP-5000. When they returned, they were in a state of insanity, and upon close examination, they had suffered severe brain damage. Henceforth the victim was referred to as SCP-5000-1. The only personnel who seems to be unaffected by this adverse affect is Dr. (REDACTED). See interview log below.

Dr. (REDACTED): (to camera) Begin interview of SCP-5000.

SCP-5000:* I must ask you not to call me by that name.

Dr. (REDACTED): What should I call you then?

SCP-5000: Anthiara. That is the name given to me by my creator.

Dr. (REDACTED): Very well. Can you tell me who your creator was?

SCP-5000: Alas, I cannot. I do not know his name.

Dr. (REDACTED): But he was male?

SCP-5000: Yes. (At this point, SCP-5000 blurs into three figures.)

Figure 1: There has been a containment breach.

Figure 2: There is a containment breach in progress.

Figure 3: There will be a containment breach.

(It is as yet unknown where SCP-5000 picked up the phrase, “Containment breach.” And where it learned all the SCP’s ID numbers)

Dr. (REDACTED): Can you tell me where?

SCP-5000: It happened in SCP-096’s cell. Someone has seen its face./ It is happening in SCP-096’s cell. Someone is seeing it./ It will happen in SCP-096’s cell. Someone will see it.

(At this point a member of our personnel entered to inform Dr. (REDACTED) of the containment breach and the interview was cut short.)
