Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be tracked at all times. If SCP-XXXX enters a radius of 50 meters around any dwelling, it is to be given an electric shock of 4,000 volts administered by its tracker.
If SCP-XXXX's tracker is disabled for any reason foundation field agents are to be distributed to Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Nelson (all in New Zealand). They are instructed to move all livestock inside a dwelling or barn. If the doors are unable be locked or are not present, they should be barricaded with objects heavier than 120 kilograms. These objects should not be organic or be constructed with any organic components. Once all livestock are indoors, the field agents should attempt to catch the eye of as many people as they can. Excessive noise and violence tend to be effective, however this can be done with other means as well.
Any structure related to SCP-XXXX is not to be entered by any A, D, or E class personnel. No livestock of any kind is permitted to enter said structure. The vitals of the livestock are unimportant in this procedure.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a vaguely humanoid mammalian figure coated in short black hairs, similar to a horse. SCP-XXXX has the ability of flight, reaching speeds of about 100 meters per second. SCP-XXXX's torso is 4 meters long, although eyewitnesses of SCP-XXXX have described it as large as 20 meters in length. It is unknown whether this is simply exaggeration or a part of SCP-XXXX's anomalous behavior. SCP-XXXX has a facial covering composed of a keratin-like material. The covering has what appears to be a crudely drawn model of the solar system painted on it with what has been identified as blood (AB negative). This "solar system" has a singular center circle and a horizontal line segment passing through the center. Two slightly larger circles end this line at both ends, which then connect around the center to create a circle. Directly above and below the center circle there are two dots that intersect the circular line. Doctors have also commented that the symbol vaguely resembles a closed eye with markings at intersections of lines. SCP-XXXX has no visible ocular organs. Regardless of this, it reacts to stimuli in a way that suggests it does possess sight of some sort. It’s torso possesses 4 arms. The end of the arms have 2 fingered hands with an additional opposable thumb. This thumb seems stunted by human standards, however it still can be used to carry and hold small objects, although it does this very rarely and in specific circumstances. Below it’s torso is a wispy, but opaque tail that is nearly always connected to a nearby cloud. This tail resembles a cumulus cloud. SCP-XXXX is thought to have little intelligence and it's behavior seems animalistic. It can, however, recognize object permanence, understand basic emotional responses and long-term reward systems.
SCP-XXXX is a mostly neutral entity. It inhabits most uninhabited parts of New Zealand and coastal parts of Australia, most notably near large sheep herds. Romney or ‘Kent’ sheep seem to attract its attention the best although any sheep seem to work. SCP-XXXX has also been known to target cows, although due to their lesser numbers in comparison to sheep, these events are rarer. The animals exhibit usual behavior until SCP-XXXX is seen by said animals. SCP-XXXX presents itself emerging from an overhead cloud before descending upon the flock of sheep. SCP-XXXX will usually approach a single sheep, although it has been known to approach up to four. The targeted sheep tend to appear diseased or fatigued. SCP-XXXX will crouch low and usher the other sheep away with two hands. It then uses its other two hands to hold the targeted sheep still. This is usually done with little to no force. The sheep will stop breathing between one to two minutes of this process. Three to eight minutes after this happens the sheep will grow visibly warm, radiating heat observable for about 12 meters, and the grass beneath it will turn black.
In the minute after this occurs the sheep will resume breathing. Tests run on these sheep show increased metabolism and wool growth. The sheep will have a stomach filled with an unidentifiable plant matter with nutritional properties similar to blueberries and █████ █████████. If they are afflicted with a disease they show signs of recovery within one to four hours. During these hours SCP-XXXX will remain with the flock until the sheep seem fully healed. Once it senses they are reasonably healthy it will leave the sheep and return to the sky.
SCP-XXXX will occasionally preform this process on domesticated sheep. If these sheep are fenced in, SCP-XXXX will hold onto the fence with one or more hands. If the fence is composed of organic matter it will burst into flames or explode. If the fence is non-organic, SCP-XXXX will attempt to gently hoist the sheep over the fence. The sheep tend to leave quickly, stragglers are softly pushed away by SCP-XXXX. If SCP-XXXX sees the human who imprisoned the sheep, it quickly turns violent and will attempt to kill the human. Physical barriers seem to keep it at bay but do not pacify it. If it cannot reach the human it circles overhead until the human dies or returns outside. In this state SCP-XXXX ignores its usual habit of caring for sheep. If SCP-XXXX reaches the human it will grab them by their ankles and fly up into the atmosphere. It will proceed to make turns of approximately 30° while reaching speeds of 100 meters per second. Regardless of if the human is actually killed, it is eventually dropped from heights of about 8,000 meters. If SCP-XXXX cannot return to the sky with the human it simply holds them until they combust or explode. If SCP-XXXX spots any human that has consumed sheep meat they are given the same treatment. If they have not, however, they are simply ignored.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX attracted the foundation’s attention on █/█/20██ when several reports of a Chinese dragon were found by foundation field agents. SCP-XXXX was located by agent ███████ and SCP-XXXX became a priority to the foundation. SCP-XXXX was apprehended by a 9 meter by 9 meter weighted net while caring for a flock of sheep and transferred to Site-███. SCP-XXXX showed visible signs of distress once at the site and exhibited erratic behavior such as ████████ ████ █████████ and attacking inanimate organic matter. SCP-XXXX was contained for several more days before a report from New Zealand stated several sheep with tumor-like growths on the sheep’s skin. Noting how easy it was to capture SCP-XXXX previously, the foundation released SCP-XXXX to New Zealand with a tracking device implanted in its right upper arm. SCP-XXXX continued its normal behavior and the affected sheep were cured of their growths.
Testing Protocols: Subjects that are testing the capabilities and properties of SCP-XXXX are to be given 2 centimeter long microphone and are to be attached to a video system. Subjects are allowed to request food, however if they do not make this request they are not to be given sustenance. The food supplied must not contain animal remnants of any kind.
Test Log #1: Subject D-57898 is told to approach SCP-XXXX while they are tending to sheep. Subject resists and is reminded that refusing will result in termination. D-57898 approaches SCP-XXXX. They do not seem to notice the subject and seem interested in the sheep it is healing. D-57898 hides behind a sheep. At this point it is assumed that D-57898 alarmed the sheep. The sheep began moving away and the subject was noticed by SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX did not move however, but it did not look away from the subject. SCP-XXXX continued healing the sheep while D-57898 stood apparently transfixed at them. D-57898 was informed they were now able to retreat, however they remained standing. They were prompted again with similar results. The subject was informed that would likely be killed if they did not move. D-57898 looks confused but moves away and out of the line of sight of SCP-XXXX.
Test Log #2: D-3929 is informed of the nature of SCP-XXXX, however they are told that SCP-XXXX is completely harmless. D-3929 is released near the SCP-XXXX healing two sheep at once. They approach with apprehension and pick up a rock of an estimated 1 kilogram in weight. SCP-XXXX does not notice D-3929. D-3929's breathing seems labored. D-3929 is an estimated 10 meters away from SCP-XXXX before they shout several expletives. Apparently suffering from extreme fear, they throw the rock at SCP-XXXX. The rock, although aimed near SCP-XXXX’s head, struck SCP-XXXX in its wispy tail. Immediately, the tail began leaking a viscous red liquid. SCP-XXXX created a high distress vocalization before the audio of the video, which recorded the addendum, cut out. SCP-XXXX completely disregarded the sheep and pushed many of them aside in order to reach the D-3929. SCP-XXXX reached them and lifted them into the air with three of their four hands. The D-3929, presumably dead, was never found. A small sample of the viscous red liquid was collected for later research, and later identified as blood (AB positive). Several doctors were interested in the properties of the cloud SCP-XXXX is tethered to. SCP-XXXX was seen 2 hours later tending to the sheep it had disturbed while trying to reach D-3929.
Test Log #3: A D class personnel that has never consumed sheep was brought to SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was tending to a sheep in a clearing. There was no other sheep present. The D class, D-42325 was told that SCP-XXXX would not harm them. They approached SCP-XXXX. They were told to stand next to SCP-XXXX. They hesitated, but obeyed. D-42325 stopped approximately one meter away from SCP-XXXX. They observed the sheep’s metabolic processes quicken and laid down next to the sheep. Dr. █████████ exclaimed and demanded for D-42325 to remain standing. D-42325 declined. The grass below the sheep and D-42325 turned a black and began smoking. SCP-XXXX released the sheep and the sheep raised itself from the ground. D-42325 continued laying on the ground. SCP-XXXX paused for a moment, it’s head turned in the direction of D-42325 personnel, but then followed the sheep.
Test Log #4: The same D class personnel used in addendum #4 (D-42325) is used for this addendum. Dr. █████████, interested in SCP-XXXX's behavior thought it interesting that the diet of the D class seemed to be a factor in SCP-XXXX's reaction to human interaction. D-42325 was instructed to consume 100 grams of lamb chops. D-42325 resisted momentarily before obeying. D-42325 was brought to SCP-XXXX, at the time in ███████, surrounded by a flock of 84 sheep. SCP-XXXX noticed D-42325 immediately. SCP-XXXX advanced upon the D class and grabbed them with two hands. It used the other two hands to █████ █████ █████████ ████████ and suffocate the D class. Doctors note the increased severity in comparison to test log #2.
Test Log #5: A similar D class personnel was necessary for this test. This D class had also never consumed sheep of any kind. They refused to consume sheep when ordered. They were threatened with termination, however, due to the lack of D class who have never eaten sheep, they were not. They were instead fed cooked lamb, while being told it was a foreign leek. They consented and was brought to SCP-XXXX after 3 hours (verifying they had digested the lamb). SCP-XXXX was found in a valley over a flock of sheep. The D class (D-29860) was told to walk towards the SCP-XXXX. Appearing hysterical, D-29860 was told again to walk towards it. They walked down the valley towards the sheep and SCP-XXXX. They sat down on a nearby rock and rested their torso against the grass. Dr. █████████ instructed that they resume walking. D-29860 ignored this and did not move. The SCP-XXXX, not tending to any sheep, moved over to D-29860. Neither of them moved for 4 seconds. Then SCP-XXXX seemed to notice the 2 centimeter long microphone clipped to D-29860. The sheep man convulsed and held down D-29860 with two hands. D-29860 underwent the same process as the sheep SCP-XXXX tended to. D-29860 ceased breathing for 2 minutes and 26 seconds and then began again. During this process the audio cut out, presumably melted by D-29860’s heat. SCP-XXXX released D-29860 and flew upwards into a cloud until SCP-XXXX is no longer visible. D-29860 was collected by two field agents and brought back to Site-███.
