-Discovered in the room of █████████, a 17 year old who was already within the foundation's interests based on his highly above average intellect. Because of regulation, he would not have been allowed into the foundation before he reached 18. █████████ was found dead at his desk with a bullet hole through his head. SCP-XXXX was discovered on his desk,

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Elucid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a chamber at least 20 by 20 meters, 30 meters tall, and with one meter thick concrete walls. Two platforms five meters wide are to be placed along opposite walls, one being 10 meters from the ground and the other 20 meters from the ground. The chamber must be without access to any light sources, including infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths, apart from during testing or the activation of cameras that requires otherwise or when personnel must enter. 34 watt fluorescent lights are to be placed on the ceiling of the chamber and underneath the platforms. No personnel above class D are to enter the chamber at any time when the lights are disabled, and if the lights are compromised, then a specially powerful Foundation handheld solar flashlight is required. The flashlights must be stored in the area outside of SCP-XXXX's chamber.
In the event of a containment breach, all lights in the site must be turned on, apart from SCP-XXXX's room and the area leading to it, in an effort to lure SCP-XXXX back to it's containment area. All Agent groups must have a minimum of one solar flashlight, and make an effort to avoid any auditory distraction. If SCP-XXXX's hunting sound is heard emitting from any area, personnel without a solar flashlight are strongly advised to avoid it due to danger on their lives.
Description: SCP-XXXX is around three meters tall on it's hind legs and has the basic body shape of a Lynx, although it has more humanoid proportions and is entirely composed from the wood of a █████████. SCP-XXXX's front limbs have long, sharp claws at the end and are shaped like that of a grizzly bear. SCP-XXXX's face is much flatter than other felines, it's muzzle being shorter in length and it's eyes and mouth abnormally large. SCP-XXXX's eyes are bright yellow, glow slightly, and are constantly open to its extremity. It's mouth is shaped into a perpetual grin, with 44 abnormally thin teeth in two rows all the exact same length. SCP-XXXX also has in it's possession a long, seemingly black cloak, henceforth known as SCP-XXXX-A, which in itself has anomalous properties.
SCP-XXXX has an incredibly strong attraction to dark places, and recoils when exposed to a bright light. It's eyes are especially tuned to a dark environment, seeing twice as powerfully than human vision even in a scientifically pure black environment, due to the glowing of it's eyes and the reflective nature of it's eyes that is similar to that of a feline. Notably, testing determined that eyesight seems to be the only sense that the creature possesses.
SCP-XXXX also has pronounced agility and speed, being able to leap to areas over five times it's height and run tops of 80 kilometers per hour (~50 mph). It's behavior while docile is usually bipedal (e.g. eating or moving short distances), but changes to that of a feline when jumping or running. While hunting, it lays or stands perfectly still in a location with an open view of a large area, and if any humans or animals enter it's field of view, it immediately charges after them, clawing it's victim before biting off and eating it's head. The head is found again later after being vomited by SCP-XXXX, covered in bile, hydrochloric acid, and dead leaves.
Through not yet understood means, SCP-XXXX has the ability to play the sound of wind-chimes, of which it uses as a luring tactic.
Documentation of SCP-XXXX's wind chime playing ability:
The black coat SCP-XXXX wears, known as SCP-XXXX-A, gives SCP-XXXX the ability to "melt" into any dark area or shadow. This ability works regardless of the position SCP-XXXX-A is viewed at, causing any eye or camera that views it to perceive it to be flat on the wall. SCP-XXXX uses SCP-XXXX-A primarily when it is moving from place to place, and never allows SCP-XXXX-A to cover it's eyes.
Under a bright light, SCP-XXXX-A appears to turn a withered brown color and loses it's anomalous properties, and then gradually regains them over exactly 5:34 (five minutes thirty four seconds) outside of a light source. Attempts to remove or recreate SCP-XXXX-A were unsuccessful.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in the █████████ forests of the ██████ National Park in █████████, USA on █/█/201█ 2:47 AM, after several reports of headless campers. When Foundation agents arrived at the scene of SCP-XXXX's last attack and were exploring the surrounding woods, it dropped from the branches a tall ████████████ and attacked the agents, surprising them. The agents neutralized it successfully, due to the floodlights used to see it in the dark as they were firing. While the agents fired two rotary machine guns at it, no permanent damage was seen on SCP-XXXX. Agents experienced no fatalities, but five taken into ICU as a result of critical blood loss. SCP-XXXX was then taken to Site-█, and after research, was taken to Site-█.
Addendum:During a total system failure and multiple containment breaches in Site-█ on ██/██/201█, an unauthorized personnel entered SCP-XXXX's chamber without a solar flashlight. SCP-XXXX killed the man, escaped the room, and began to roam around the site. Agent-█████, who was separated from his group by a different SCP, was calling into and listening to his radio, and was spotted by SCP-XXXX. The agent barely survived, as a team responding to the agent's call had a solar flashlight saved the agent after he had already been clawed and was moments from death. Agent-█████ was hospitalized for several months, and recovered with only minor permanent damage. The agent suffered severe trauma, but did not require any amnestics.
Interview with the victim:
Interviewed: Agent-█████, close survivor of an attack from SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. Malinowski, lead on the research on SCP-XXXX
Foreword: A few days after Agent-█████ was cleared by doctors, he was called in to describe in detail the events that he experienced. He had abtained major PTSD from the event, but it had lessened substantially by the time of the interview, so amnestics did not seem nessisary.
<Begin Log, 4:15 pm>
Dr. Malinowski: Welcome, Agent-█████. Because of your recent experiences, I'm glad to hear that you are recovering nicely.
Agent-█████: Yeah… It's been one hell of a ride. Please, call me ████.
Dr. Malinowski: Well, ████, let's start from the beginning. You said you were separated from your squad?
Agent-█████: That's right. We were running from something or another, and I tripped on something in the dark. Before my group saw I was gone, they had already ran through a door, and I lost them. I was calling for them on my radio.
Dr. Malinowski: Yes, we have that on the radio records.
Agent-█████: And then… *sighs* If I had known that monster was out there…
*Subject buries his face in his hands*
Dr. Malinowski: Relax, ████. Take your time.
*Short pause*
Agent-█████: Well… the instant I saw It's eyes… I knew I was done for. I remember everything like it was an hour ago. It's just those eyes… they haunt me every night…
*Subject takes a drink of water*
Agent-█████: I saw it peering at me from the end of a long hallway… just the eyes… and then as I was standing there, I heard the wind chimes. The blood drained from my face as I realized what it was. And then it sprinted right at me, it was on me in seconds! It leaped at me and slashed me twice right across the chest! You have no idea…
*Subject stops and stares at the floor.*
Dr. Malinowski: Please continue. We're almost finished.
Agent-█████: Ok… It's just that, this next image.. I try not to think about it much… what could've happened…
*Dr. Malinowski stares at subject.*
Agent-█████: All right. Ok. So… as I was laying there in a pool of my own blood, my vision spinning with shock, SCP-XXXX bent down our faces inches apart. It's teeth gleamed under the emergency lights, in just such a horrible smile… and then… it's face kinda stretched, and it's mouth opened to a dark hole, the teeth jutting out at weird angles, it's eyes looking like they're about to pop out of their sockets… It's simply the worst image I'll ever see… Thank God, just before it too a bite, it was hit square in the face with the beam of a solar flashlight. It's face contorted horrifically, and it's body crumpled sorta like a dead spider. When it was hit, it made this weird sound, like glass being smashed. That's where I blacked out.
*Subject stopped, taking deep breaths.*
Dr. Malinowski: Thank you very much for sharing, ████. You're free to go.
<End Log, 4:18 pm>
Closing Statement: The only new information gathered was the sound of the breaking of glass, possibly relating to the origin of the wind-chime sound. Further research is required to confirm this.
