Item #: SCP-XXXX
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a Level 3 Bio-hazard containment facility equipped with a hermetically sealed Category D isolation dome with a volume no greater than 1km3. In addition to the standards outlined in document CB-1003-D, the aforementioned isolation dome is to be outfitted with the following equipment, per document I-103-2:
- Four Class C emergency incineration devices
- Four Class B atmospheric displacement units (Inert Gas - Argon)
- One Level 2 Air-lock equipped equipped with heat-based decontaminators
Any and all facility personnel directly interacting with SCP-XXXX are required to wear Class A Hazardous Containment Equipment in order to minimize the chance of SCP-XXXX attempting to infect its observers. Additionally, personnel exiting SCP-XXXX's containment area are required to stand for heat-based decontamination procedures within the containment area's air-lock. This procedure includes chemical-based ████████ and heating the air-lock's atmosphere to ████████ for two minutes.
Any personnel come into direct physical contact with SCP-XXXX are to be terminated immediately by incineration. Any remaining biological matter is to remain within SCP-XXXX's containment area and under no circumstances should any other personnel attempt to recover said biological matter.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a creeping vine originally found in the tropical regions of █████████. SCP-XXXX was first discovered in 20██ by a conservation team attempting to record the effects of climate change on the local flora. Upon discovering SCP-XXXX, the conservation team attempted to analyze it, noting its unique coiling tendrils and unusual texture.
Foundation personnel were notified of SCP-XXXX's existence after incident XXXX-A was reported to the local authorities via surviving members of the conservation team. A description of the incident is included in this document.
SCP-XXXX appears to exhibit a sort of sentience, or partial-sentience. Any attempt to cut, rip, or otherwise remove samples of SCP-XXXX are met with near immediate hostility. SCP-XXXX will lash out with one or many of its tendrils in a similar fashion to that of a coiled snake striking at prey. Additionally, SCP-XXXX appears to be able to perceive vital areas of the body it strikes at, such as the neck, or eyes.
Upon successful extraction, foundation personnel moved SCP-XXXX to a secure location near ████████. Upon reestablishment of SCP-XXXX's root system in its new habitat, SCP-XXXX immediately lashed out at foundation personnel. This event is noted below in the document titled Incident XXXX-B.
