Special Containment Procedures: Item is to be kept locked in high security anomalous item containmant at all times. A Plexiglas case must be around it when out of testing in order to minimize the danger of accidental activation of SCP-XXXX’s properties outside of testing.

• O-5 as well as high ranking personnel of the Foundation.
• D-Class with exceptionally gruesome and/or large scale past crimes.
• D-Class that were in leadership roles of terrorist organizations or violent authoritarian goverments prior to their detainment.
• All personnel, amestisized or not, that have worked with SCP-231, as well as D-Class who have had a role involving Procedure 110-Montauk.

In the event that SCP-XXXX deems a D-Class “Innocent”:
If the current number of D-Class and Foundation resources allow it, said D-Class’ case is to be re-opened and studied using the additional evidence given by SCP-XXXX. In the event the D-Class is confirmed innocent, they must then be properly amnestisized to remove any memories of the Foundation. The former D-Class is then to be given to goverment custody along with the case’s new evidence and conclusion if possible, to be released via typical legal procedures.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a bronze scale. An inscription written on ancient Greek can be found on the scale’s base, which translates to “Eye for an eye, forgiveness where it's deserved.”.
It is notable that the measuring scales of the object have shown to be immovable by any external force, and will only change the position of perfect balance during the object’s active state.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties manifest when a living human’s palm comes in contact with the object. After contact, the subject will be unable to let go of the object or move it from its current position. At the same time, an incorporeal, but otherwise exact replica of the subject’s heart will appear on the left scale, still beating (X-rays have revealed the subject’s actual heart remains intact and within their chest, due to the matching heart palpatations it is assumed that this is merely a projection of the subject's heart.). A second later, an incorporeal, rolled up parchment will appear on the right scale and the ‘judgement’ will begin. During the subject’s judgement, the scale will start leaning left and right, until finally settling in a position where the scale holding the heart is slightly, or radically lower than the parchment one.1
At this point, the subject will be able to move freely again, the heart (and in most cases the parchment) will then spontaneously disappear. After approximately 7 seconds, the affected subject will receive an anomalously executed ‘punishment’, the nature of which depends on their past crimes. The judgement of an individual seems to be done by an anomalous entity either residing within or communicating through SCP-XXXX. So far no known ways of directly communicating with SCP-XXXX-1 are known.
