Special Containment Procedures: SCP - XXXX is to be kept in a vivarium at site ██. Any personnel entering the containment area must wear basic eyewear to prevent being affected by SCP - XXXX.

Description: SCP - XXXX are two (2) instances of an unknown species of lepidopteras (butterflies). SCP - XXXX’s anomalous property manifests when it is directly observed¹ by any human being above the age of sixteen (16) years. The observer will then be compelled to pursue the butterfly. When the subject has observed the entity in an idle state for the quantity of time it judges sufficient, it will return to its previous activity. Affected subjects present no physical or mental changes after the event, nor do they recall following SCP - XXXX².

Discovery: SCP - XXXX was discovered on the ██/██/████, after a riot took place in ███████, Tennessee. Approximatively 450 subjects were following an instance of SCP - XXXX. Foundation agents successfully retrieved the anomaly, and returned it to site ██ for containment. Class A amnestics were massively administrated.

1. Photographic/ video footage does not apply, and wearing common sunglasses will disable the effect. For unknown reasons, the effect is triggered when the entity is viewed through all types of glass, except UV-proof glass.

2. The subject will remember SCP - XXXX as an entity, but will not memorise pursuing it.
