SCP-XXXX's surface and stack of blank paper.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 5 meter cube-like room. The room must also be furnished with an entry point, an entry bolted to the wall, two oak wood chairs, a yellow fluorescent light bulb from the ceiling (approximately 1.5 meters from SCP-XXXX's height), and a window.
SCP-XXXX is to be tested with a single (1) subject at a time. All personnel entering the testing chamber while SCP-XXXX and/or SCP-XXXX-2 are present are to be patted down for anything other than clothing. Should any unauthorized object be found, said objects are to be held until testing is complete.(See Addendum XXXX.4, Incident Report# XXXX.1)
Any attempt to visually record subjects' experiments with SCP-XXXX is immediately erased, presumably by SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 itself shows no signs of aggressive behavior, but caution is advised while in contact with it should not be provoked unless authorized to do so. If SCP-XXXX-2 is in a state of aggression, the yellow fluorescent light bulb is to be turned off, terminating SCP-XXXX-2's communications. This procedure is not recommended for periods longer than 48 hours.
Should any of the bearings of SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-2 disappear, Foundation personnel should be immediately advised. Any requests made by SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-2 are to be denied until further understanding. Any personnel experiencing unusual effects (mood swings, suicidal thoughts, aggression, etc.) after exposure to SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 should be reported immediately to another Foundation staff member.
SCP-XXXX's chamber should be cleaned from all crumbled wads of paper by igniting the waste.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an oak wood table, exactly 0.9144 meters (36 inches) in width and length, and a height of 1.016 meters (40 inches). On top of the table's clean and waxed surface lies a stack of yellowed, slightly scorched, blank sheets of blank paper and a decorative pen with black ink. The stack of blank paper seems infinite despite it's small stack. No item, including SCP-XXXX, has any sort of branding or signs of usage.
Use of any of the papers or the pen have no direct effect on subjects, however, any attempt to take items out of testing results in 3rd degree burns across the subject's body and the items appear back into SCP-XXXX's original positions once out of sight. (See Addendum XXXX.2)
Upon closing the entry for subject's, the secondary entry way opens and SCP-XXXX-2 steps out from the wall. SCP-XXXX-2 will approach an oak wood chair and offer the subject to sit. SCP-XXXX-2 can be identified as a tall white male wearing a 3 piece suit. SCP-XXXX-2's facial features are burned off and blackened from what can be assumed as a fire, making it's identity unknown.
SCP-XXXX-2 is only able to physically react to objects on SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-2 is known to speak, read, and write in the English language. SCP-XXXX-2's voice is produced from a machine within it's flesh. It's main source of interaction is through writing onto SCP-XXXX's scorched paper, picking it up, and showing it to subjects. However, shortly after SCP-XXXX-2's disappearance, it's writings are erased.
Few samples have been successfully recieved from the testing chamber, as well as several audio samples with personnel and SCP-XXXX-2's interactions. Personnel have reported SCP-XXXX-2 having experiences of loneliness after prolonged periods without experiments.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in a local farmhouse in West Texas. Residents of the house have had a history with "paranormal" events occurring within the house, claiming it was the couple's deceased son, [REDACTED]. A few weeks after the Containment of SCP-XXXX, Subject D-7214 was sent in for testing. The following is a recording of the stated experiment:
Experiment XXXX.A
INTERVIEWER: Subject D-7214
INTERVIEWEE: SCP-XXXX
ON-SITE RESEARCHER: DOCTOR NICHOLAS MOURE
…
[BEGIN LOG]
…
Dr. Moure: "Subject D-7214, please approach SCP-XXXX to begin testing."
Subject begins to approach the closest wooden chair from the entry point.
Subject looks up to see an unidentified entity.
The entity sits down onto the opposite chair and begins writing with SCP-XXXX's pen and paper.
Subject: "H-hello?"
Entity: "Shhh."
Entity picks up the paper he was writing on, places the pen back where it was and shows the Subject a drawing.
The drawing is a childish depiction of a house on fire.
Subject: "This is… you?"
The Entity nods yes.
The Entity speaks in an unusual vocal synthesizer
Entity: "I am him, yes. The very freak that I am was not me then."
Subject: "What exactly are you?"
Entity: "I am what's left of my prior humanity."
The Entity places the sheet back on the stack of papers
Entity: "I am also the thing men fear most about themselves:"
Entity: "their darkness."
Dr. Moure: "Subject D-7214, please cease interaction with SCP-XXXX. Preparing to open entry point Alpha."
Entity: "Please… don't go…"
Subject: "I must. It's my job."
Entity: "…I see. Goodbye then, friend."
Subject: …Goodbye."
…
[END LOG]
After Experiment XXXX.A, we classified said Entity as SCP-XXXX-2 and have adjusted our documentation accordingly. Subject D-7214 reported feelings of extreme depression and loneliness soon after the closing of the experiment and has been placed under Class E personnel.
Following reclassification of Subject D-7214, Subject was requested for another experiment with SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2.
Experiment XXXX.B
INTERVIEWER: Subject D-7214
INTERVIEWEE: SCP-XXXX
ON-SITE RESEARCHER: DOCTOR NICHOLAS MOURE
…
[BEGIN LOG]
…
Dr. Moure: "Subject D-7214, please approach SCP-XXXX to begin testing."
Subject enters the testing chamber and sits onto the chair closest to entry point Alpha.
SCP-XXXX-2 emerges from entry point Bravo and sits in the opposite chair.
SCP-XXXX-2: "Hello again, my friend."
Researcher: "Subject D-7214, please follow the procedural interrogation notes provided."
Subject clears his throat.
Subject: "Who are you?"
SCP-XXXX-2: "I am [REDACTED], why?"
Subject: "How did you become what you are now?"
SCP-XXXX-2: "Simple really. Some freak fire incident. I thought I was dead."
Subject: "How often are you active?"
SCP-XXXX-2: "Not often. I only awaken when someone comes to visit me, like you, friend."
Subject: "Are you aware that you only visible upon activity?"
SCP-XXXX-2: "I figured."
SCP-XXXX-2: "If you don't mind, friend, I would like to give you something.
Subject looks back at Researcher
Researcher: "Interaction is authorized. Proceed.
SCP-XXXX-2: "Oh good. Here. It's a pen my mother gave me."
Subject picks up the pen.
Dr. Moure: "Subject D-7214, please cease interaction with SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2. Preparing to open entry point Alpha.
…
[END LOG]
Shortly after leaving the containment chamber, Subject D-7214 had dropped the pen and burst into flames. Subject D-7214 was sent back to Class E to receive proper treatment.
The pen was unable to be found after the events of Experiment XXXX.B. All documentation has been revised accordingly.
Upon scheduled cleaning of the containment chamber and temporary relocation of SCP-XXXX, personnel had found a piece of paper from SCP-XXXX's surface as well as a pen (presumably the pen used by SCP-XXXX-2).
A pen assumed to be used by SCP-XXXX-2
It is unclear who is mentioned in the writing. The writing was documented as a photograph and terminated immediately after SCP-XXXX's return to the testing chamber. Should any further interrogations relate to current and future writings, please contact personnel.
INCIDENT REPORT #: XXXX.1
INCIDENT ANALYST: DOCTOR ROBERT KERA
An unauthorized test between Dr. Moure, SCP-XXXX, and SCP-XXXX-2 lead to Dr Moure's severe injuries. Dr. Moure suffers from 3rd degree burns across the entirety of his body with an unknown source. Dr. Moure has been stripped of his role as a Researcher and placed as Class E personnel.
SCP-XXXX-2 has begun to show minor signs of agitation and aggression after encountering Dr. Moure. A P365 Handgun was found with a loaded chamber and clip. It is speculated that Dr. Moure had heavily interrogated SCP-XXXX-2 about the events of Addendum XXXX.3 as well as the mood swings of D-7214.
SCP-XXXX appears to have been slightly damaged from a fire hazard, leaving several blackened marks around the object. Both SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 are to be thoroughly observed and questioned of this event.
All personnel entering the testing chamber in the future are to be patted down for any objects other than clothing to prevent similar incidents.
Both Dr. Moure and Subject D-7214 are to be questioned about their tests involving SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2.
Any further attempts from Dr. Moure to test SCP-XXXX and/or SCP-XXXX-2 are strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized testing from Dr. Moure will lead to his permanent termination from the Foundation.
