SCP-1577 is an inanimate object, that when touched, transmits a very coded mysterious signal to a theorized alien mother ship. SCP Foundation scientists have not yet found out anything about the origin, sound, or reason as to why this signal is sent only when a living object touches it. It is a shape shifting object made up of what is a seemingly infinite amount of atoms and elements, in which it can use to mold and form itself into whatever it wants, even things us humans haven’t created and things that aren’t real. It can even create itself into a fictional character from a book, with out any mentioning around it in anyway at all. Recent studies show that there is a substance called Compound-918. It is a slimy substance that gives off the smell of apple pies just out of the oven. When it comes into contact with any other plant, or animal, or human, it seems to give the subject the same shape shifting ability as it. There is no recording of past encounters with this substance outside of the SCP Foundation. When a feline or dog comes into close proximities with either SCP-1577, or Compound-918, it begins to hiss or bark outrageously loud, louder than it has ever before, and sometimes, even bursting its own eardrums and vocal cords. The reason behind this is still unexplained. One theory is that they can hear a sonic, high-pitched scream of someone in danger, so they try to alert everyone else. Another is that it’s a just a sonic, high frequency sound that is irritating the animals. However, it only does this to dogs and all felines.
The object was recovered from Hiroshima, Japan. It was found when the clean up crew noticed a spotless dresser that hadn’t been harmed by the atom bomb that was dropped. It wasn’t even broken in any way. They sent it off to Section 9, but after they held it for about 6 years, SCP-1577 morphed into a torch, and burned the entire facility down to the ground. It was recovered by another clean up crew with survivors, and was found unharmed, and perfectly normal. It was then shipped to the SCP Foundation in Japan, where it is currently being held and studied.
