Special Containment Procedures: All personnel working with or around SCP-XXXX must wear a HEPA compliant respirator. Any object or location infected by mold confirmed to be an instance of SCP-XXXX should be removed and incinerated. In the event of a genetically unique instance, a 0.25g sample should be taken and stored in a standard Bio-Hazard container, any additional symptoms and properties should be recorded along with the appearance and location of the instance. Locations inherently prone to mold growths must be checked weekly for instances of SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a strain of extremely resilient, rapidly-growing, and severely bio-hazardous species of mold. All SCP-XXXX instances currently cataloged have caused the following symptoms 30 minutes to 2 hours after exposure to SCP-XXXX spores:

  • Respiratory distress
  • Acute paranoia
  • Muscle spasms
  • Tachycardia in excess of 190 BPM
  • Anaphylactic shock in 24.2% of cases

SCP-XXXX manifestations are spontaneous in most cases, with perfectly sanitized rooms covered in SCP-XXXX in a matter of minutes. SCP-XXXX does not have any requirements for growing, having on multiple occasions manifested in completely sterile areas. SCP-XXXX prefers areas with a light intensity below 1100 Lumens. Changing the light level of a room already containing an SCP-XXXX instance has no effect on its rate of growth.

When first manifested, SCP-XXXX has an average area of 1.2 m2. SCP-XXXX manifestations are unable to grow while being observed directly. Observation under a microscope shows a complete stop of all cellular processes. Security footage of the Site-049 Level 3 low security storage shows a 7 frame gap in the recorded footage in which SCP-XXXX-05 manifested. The instance of SCP-XXXX-05 did not grow while being recorded. While not observed, SCP-XXXX instances grow at a rate of 0.02 m2/s. SCP-XXXX is only able to manifest within 3.8 kilometers of an already existing SCP-XXXX instance. The origin, location, and properties of the first instance are unknown.

All traditional mold-removal products have no effect on SCP-XXXX instances, with the exception of SCP-XXXX-03.

Addendum:
After the shipment of a sample of SCP-XXXX-02 to Site-023 for research, instances of SCP-XXXX-01, -04, and -06 have been recorded. All samples of SCP-XXXX have been incinerated, and containment protocols updated.

SCP-XXXX-01
Appearance: Gray, with a slight green hue. Smooth with very little surface texture.
First Manifested: Site-049: Level 5 Bathrooms
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • Symptoms manifested 13 minutes after exposure.

Research Notes: Several corrosive agents were used in an attempt to penetrate the cellular membrane of SCP-XXXX-01. SCP-XXXX-01 cells remained fully intact and resumed genetic activity when left unobserved. Despite being apparently undamaged, a slight change in hue occurred when exposed substances below 0.1 pH, suggesting slight chemical breakdown.

SCP-XXXX-02
Appearance: White. Small lime-green protrusions.
First Manifested: Site-049: CSD Barracks
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • Acute deep vein thrombosis
  • Hypernatremia

Research Notes: A single cell of SCP-XXXX-02 was isolated. Using a extraction needle, the Cell membrane and nucleus of the cell was breached, and samples of SCP-XXXX-02's genome were taken. Samples were shipped to Site-023 for genetic decoding.

SCP-XXXX-03
Appearance: Light blue. Tree-like growth pattern.
First Manifested: Inside a bio-container holding a sample of SCP-XXXX-01.
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • All symptoms were lessened in severity, causing no fatalities.
  • SCP-XXXX-03 was successfully removed by "Home Armor" brand Mold-Removal.

Research Notes: After examination under microscope, the cells of SCP-XXXX-03 appeared to be severely malformed. 23% of cells present in the sample were completely non-functional.

SCP-XXXX-04
Appearance: Dark black. With many elongated spiky protrusions.
First Manifested: Site-049: Cafeteria bathrooms
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • Acute kidney failure

Research Notes: SCP-XXXX-04's genome consisted purely of RNA. How SCP-XXXX-04's cells continued to function without any DNA sequencing is unknown.

SCP-XXXX-05
Appearance: Dark green. Dirt-like texture and consistency.
First Manifested: Site-049: Level 3 Low-Security storage
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • Instance was completely inert, emitting no spores.

Research Notes: Cells of SCP-XXXX-05 showed similar damage to SCP-XXXX-03, but all cells in the sample were non-functional.

SCP-XXXX-06
Appearance: Brown. Concentric ring growth pattern.
First Manifested: Site-023: Genetic research lab
Unique Symptoms / Properties:

  • Increased growth rate of 0.07 m2/s.

Research Notes: All samples of SCP-XXXX-06 were incinerated before any research was conducted.
