What this is

A bunch of miscellaneous CSS 'improvements' that I, Croquembouche, use on a bunch of pages because I think it makes them easier to deal with.

The changes this component makes are bunch of really trivial modifications to ease the writing experience and to make documenting components/themes a bit easier (which I do a lot). It doesn't change anything about the page visually for the reader — the changes are for the writer.

I wouldn't expect translations of articles that use this component to also use this component, unless the translator likes it and would want to use it anyway.

This component probably won't conflict with other components or themes, and even if it does, it probably won't matter too much.

Usage

On any wiki:

This component is designed to be used on other components. When using on another component, be sure to add this inside the component's [[iftags]] block, so that users of your component are not forced into also using Croqstyle.

Stops footnotes from being a million miles wide, so that you can actually read them.

No more bigfaces

Stops big pictures from appearing when you hover over someone's avatar image, because they're stupid and really annoying and you can just click on them if you want to see the big version.

Code colours

Add my terminal's code colours as variables. Maybe I'll change this to a more common terminal theme like Monokai or something at some point, but for now it's just my personal theme, which is derived from Tomorrow Night Eighties.

Also, adding the .terminal class to a fake code block as [[div class="code terminal"]] gives it a sort of pseudo-terminal look with a dark background. Doesn't work with [[code]], because Wikidot inserts a bunch of syntax highlighting that you can't change yourself without a bunch of CSS. Use it for non-[[code]] code snippets only.

Debug mode

Draw lines around anything inside .debug-mode. The colour of the lines is red but defers to CSS variable --debug-colour.

You can also add div.debug-info.over and div.debug-info.under inside an element to annotate the debug boxes — though you'll need to make sure to leave enough vertical space that the annotation doesn't overlap the thing above or below it.

SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard 10 meter by 10 meter concrete containment chamber with a glass viewing window measuring 6 feet across and 5 feet down. Viewing window must be outfitted with a cognitohazardous filter. All personnel that enter SCP-XXXX's containment chamber must be wearing goggles that filter out cognitohazardous effects. It is possible for SCP-XXXX to breach containment, but highly unlikely to, as it is immobile.

Description:
SCP-XXXX appears to be an ordinary 30cm × 30cm × 30cm × 30cm 3 dimensional square canvas that stays in place of wherever it is moved. SCP-XXXX has been found to consist of firmly woven cotton and linen fibers. On the surface of SCP-XXXX, there is a picture, which, through further testing on D-Class personnel is found to exhibit mild visual cognitohazardous effects. Most humanoids affected by SCP-XXXX become mildly confused and walk away from the general vicinity of SCP-XXXX. The surface of SCP-XXXX, the picture, is further designated as SCP-XXXX-1. Through further testing carried out by Doctor Ray Garous, SCP-XXXX-1 is found to be the source of SCP-XXXXs hazardous effects. SCP-XXXX was discovered at the Louvre Museum in November of 2005. SCP-XXXX was often remarked as "the most unique exhibit at the Louvre" as each time a bystander looked at it, they became confused as a result of and responded with any variation of "Oh, it was lovely" when asked about the exhibit. Further observation of an individual affected by SCP-XXXX have shown that prior to one week of the time of infliction, the effects wear off. Attempts to alter the effects of the hazard by thinking about something before looking back at the surface have proven unsuccessful.

Discovery: The Foundation was alerted of SCP-XXXX's existence when a civilian looked at SCP-XXXX-1 and was unaffected by the hazard. News reports about how the Louvre was lacking in their art, the Foundation tasked Mobile Task Force unit Eta-10 "See No Evil," with observing SCP-XXXX. MTF Eta-10 was outfitted with sunglasses that contained cognitohazard filtering lenses. The task force observed countless civilians approach SCP-XXXX and immediately turn away and walk out of the area upon viewing its surface. The task force was then debriefed and tasked with the containment of SCP-XXXX and its transportation to Foundation Site-73. Further investigation of SCP-XXXX's origin leads back to the spring of 1992, the timeframe that SCP-XXXX was brought to the Louvre. Mobile Task Force Eta-10 "See No Evil," detained the Louvre's current curator and brought her to a secure facility for interrogation. Extended interrogation with the museum's curator indicates that SCP-XXXX was donated to the Louvre on May 18th, 1992 , by a man named Alexander ██████. She explained that at that time, SCP-XXXX was in a burlap sack, and that she forgets everything that happened for a week after she opened the sack. Through further research into local records, Alexander ██████ passed away in his manor, located in Nice, France, on May 28th. 10 days after his donation of SCP-XXXX to the Louvre. His cause of death was determined to be carbon monoxide poisoning. Mr. ██████'s manor has been visited by MTF Eta-10, and found to not physically exist, or to have somehow been moved in its entirety to a different location. There are no other manors in Nice, France that fit the description given on the autopsy record. The museum's curator was transported back to the Louvre and administered a Class-C amnestic agent. D-2295: Last I remember is being escorted to a concrete room with a big metal door and a viewing window with blurry glass in it. Then someone opened the door with their keycard and now I'm here with you.

Procedure: 1 D-Class subject is introduced to SCP-XXX's containment chamber after being outfitted with one (1) medium intensity oxygen acetylene cutting torch, one (1) sharpened steel knife of medium size and one (1) pair of goggles outfitted with cognitohazardous filtering lenses. D-2356 is instructed to attempt to separate the picture (SCP-XXXX-1) from the canvas, using any means necessary for it to be separated as a whole, and to not, under any circumstances, remove the goggles.

Results:
5 hours after the initiation of Test XXXX-B, D-2356 successfully manages to separate SCP-XXXX-1 from SCP-XXXX. D-2356 removes his goggles to wipe perspiration from his face, and looks down at the canvas. He immediately starts screaming for help, appearing to be in great pain.
