The Aquatic Creature

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: In all findings of SCP-XXXX’s presence, an area of ██km is to be secured with members of the ██████████ army. A specialist team of personal is to be deployed in the vicinity of it. The team will then lure SCP-XXXX into a temporary, mobile containment cell just large enough to fit it. When the group has carried the occupied cell into the van, it will be wrapped in ██████, the only known material to contain it. The Aquatic Creature is then taken to facility where it is put into a cell, mimicking its natural environment. At least ten (10) personal must be on watch of SCP-XXXX at all times and rotate every two (2) hours. The Aquatic Creature must be kept in a 10x10x5m containment cell, its walls being lined with █████. The containment cell of an infected must be filled with elements from its original habitat. Only with permission from a level 4 or higher personal can any strain of SCP-XXXX have access to D-class personal, in fear of the population on SCP-XXXX increasing. Each strain of the pathogen must be kept in seperate cells. The pathogen itself, with no host can stay in a 1x1x2m room in a glass vile. For both containment types: with and without the host, the cells must be triple locked with no personal lower than level 4 allowed to enter.

Two instances have been reported where SCP-XXXX has escape the secured of area before the arrival of the specialist team, but in both cases, the creature was eventually found. In every instance of an attack or sighting, an area of ██km is to be evacuated of all civilian population.

If any unknown entity appears in the cell, it is not to be given freedom to leave under any condition. If any D-class personal manages to survive SCP-XXX's attack, they are not to leave the cell but to stay in there as they are a major biohazard.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a deadly pathogen creating large figures resembling various entities. Some of them have included bears, walruses, and an unknown feline creature. Many D-class personal have stated that the entities they saw only merely resembled bears and walruses. Entities of SCP-XXXX are normally found in swamp biomes.

SCP-XXXX-1 is described as resembling a teddy bear, and whilst measurements are impossible because of it’s aggression, it is estimated to be a height of seven (7) feet, what Dr.█████described as ‘easily towering over the average person.’

SCP-XXXX-2 has earned the nickname ‘The Fast Swine’ in it’s locality because of its fast movement and its call which has been described as sounding like a pig choking. It resembles a large walrus with stomach fat, another creature has been found sharing swamps with SCP-XXXX-2, at first it was thought to be another SCP-XXXX strain but later turned out to be a deceased human ‘possessed’ by the pathogen. This sub-strain seems to be a skinnier version of SCP-XXXX-2. Some experts believe that this is not a sub-strain, but that both creatures were originally humans, one of them was just bigger.

SCP-XXXX-3 appears to be a large cat, most likely belonging to the same classification as lions or cheetahs. Later sampling found that this was again another deceased human with a pathogen recently classified as SCP-XXXX.

Universal features of all strains are that SCP-XXXX is usually covered in moss and has long, straight hair, usually covering its face. SCP-XXXX gives it host the ability to breathe underwater and stay under there for virtually limitless time, SCP-XXXX also controls its host’s mind, research on the pathogen found that it had intelligence of its own, and uses a host to create more of itself. When attacking, SCP-XXXX will wait in the water for passing prey which is nearly always humans and once it it is close will reach out of the water and grab the victim(s) by the legs and pull them back into the water. It will then █████ the victim's limbs █████████████████████ as blood is seen colouring the swamp red. After ██minutes the new victim of the disease will then emerge and find its way to another pond. If the new victim of the disease cannot find a new pond, it will fight the other infected for their pond. If an SCP-XXXX drags down a new host, that host will have the same strain of the disease as the old one.
